1/24/15: My family and I went to the Goodwill on a rainy Saturday morning. They had half off toys which was perfect we were there for toys for my 8 month old son. The workers on the floor were amazing! Gave us a screwdriver and test batteries for the toys we were looking at purchasing. Very nice, helpful, and held a conversation with us. When going to the register ONE girl in general was EXTREMLY RUDE!!! Having a totally inappropriate conversation with another worker while ringing up the lady in front of me. We had 2 carts, one for the baby seat and one for our items. When she saw our carts she very loudly says OHHHH MYY GODDDDDD! because she thought we had 2 cartfuls of stuff. I found this to be very distasteful, and I am not sure how she is able to keep her job with such horrible manners. I asked her if she would like the other lady to ring us up, twice, and she never responded so I took my things to Ester, who was amazing and saw how upset I was and gave me a discount and reported this behavior to the manager. Although that was thoughtful of her, I still felt the need to write this review. There are too many people looking for and needing jobs for someone with the lack of basic manners to be working and receiving a paycheck. In the end, she got what was coming to her, because all the other customers thought we had 2 cartfuls as well and she had a line of 4 or more by the time we left. I dont understand why someone would be so lazy as to come to work to DO NOTHING. You are there, You are getting paid, your time will pass faster if you just work while your there. And if you dont like your job or you dont feel like your getting paid enough then maybe YOU, miss, maam..... should have made better choices in your life. But you are settled to working at the goodwill, and sad to say you are horrible at it.

Ill always say that the best part of this location is the computer store. Ive gotten into so much "trouble" there that it isnt funny. However, if you go there at the wrong time, the other shoppers kind of ruin things. When it comes to the computer store, theres almost always some person there who buys half-broken laptops to sell for exorbitant prices on Craigslist and these people will tell you anything to keep you from looking at stuff yourself. The same goes for inside the retail store. The outlet is a completely different story. The people in there are downright aggressive and its all over mostly broken stuff thats covered in all sorts of grossness. Shopping in there on a weekend is like trying to go to Walmart on Black Friday and I tend to avoid that part. Prices at this location as well as many other Goodwill stores in the area seem to be getting out of hand. Electronics seem to be priced based on what they go for on eBay. Other items are priced higher than what they go for brand new in stores like Walmart ant Target. Something that is being sold as second hand shouldnt cost more than retail. However, if you still appreciate having physical media such as CDs, then youll be glad to see that the prices of audio CDs is fairly low, but the 2 for $3.25 can be a bit of a bad thing as youll sometimes end up getting more than you intended just to take advantage of that price (a single CD costs $2.25). For the time being, Ill still try stopping by here regularly because this computer nerd needs to get his cheap tech fix.

VERY over priced. They charge every clothing item for $5 and up. Instead of pricing each individual item separately. Which gets frustrating if you are just in to buy a tshirt and end up paying five bucks for it. (You might as well have gone to a retail store and get a new one for the same price). The store does not keep the clothes well organized. You can find a small next to a large. Because they do the organization by color. Which isnt very practical. The cleanliness is not up to par. The clothes often look as if they just came off of someones body (but that could be because they arent required to wash them before they hang them up to sell. Since obviously there is no appraisal before the items are cleared to go to the main floor) and the dressing rooms are very messy. The workers are friendly and service is good. There best sections, I think if you are going to give this place a go, are the books, shoes, bags, and furniture sections. Look elsewhere for clothing, unless you want to frustrate yourself in the hunt. But Goodwill Retail is your best friend in other areas and you just might find a gem.

This is the largest Goodwill around. LOTS of selection. Ive gotten some great deals like a Thule bike rack for $14. Overall, the prices are okay, but its near impossible to find out the color of the week anymore. (Goodwill discounts all the items with a particular colored tag to half price each week to rotate stock.) I wish they would tag the shoes as well so they can be discounted like the clothes/household items. If youre looking for super deep discounts, go to their Outlet section to the right of the main store. You have to sort through things since everything is just dumped into bins, but theyre dirt cheap because you pay by the pound for most things. Can be quite crowded and chaotic though.

Fun. Good value. Large selection and well lit. Compared to the other Goodwill outlets in Richmond and Roanoke, this is by far the best. Garage sale atmosphere, but some aggressive shoppers tend to take the fun out of it. Also, when new merchandise is wheeled out some of the staff seem to enjoy demeaning the customers by acting like animal handlers. Although... some customers do act like animals. The multiple baskets covered by sheets identify the ebay businesses. Try to stay ahead of them if you want the best selection. Some will even dump the whole bin out - then privately sort it out to themselves.

The store is clean, staff is nice and helpful, and they have 3 ways to shop (well in my case). A barging bin that you pay by weight, the normal pay by item side, and an electronic side. You dont always find everything that you need in the electronic side but I bought two computers three or four monitors and a handful of other things and never had a problem. Even if I had problems with what I bought in the electronic side theres a 7-Day return policy but I never used it. To me its worth checking out. Love the store all the way around and I believe its a must-see and venture through what they have.
