I wish i checked this reviews before doing business with this shady business. Few months ago went to buy some chicken from them and other stuff , was shocked to see the cashier her self going to the freezer to get the chicken that gpd knows how long it been there and went to cut the meat without gloves or even washing her hand . Was very disgusted and decided never go back to that store . Then yesterday my wife needed to buy some items and i sent her to that store since its the closest to us in Gainesville hoping that she wont have any problems and they ended up adding a separate transaction on her credit card for over $11 , after she called them to ask them to refund the unauthorized charges nicely the women with broken english told my wife that she cant refund the money and told her to come to the store and she would give her somthing for free to make up for it ???? Never going back to this place again.

This store is awful. The owner was outside talking to other people and ignored me on my way in. Once inside, I was not helped for about 20 minutes. Im not overly annoyed by poor service but when the female co-owner comes out of the back, makes eye contact with you, then stops walking so she can go hide in the back for longer was unacceptable to me. Another woman, a worker, comes out several minutes later and seemed so very aggravated that I was there. Her tone was nasty and annoyed. I asked her if they carried a product, she said shed look. She walked into the back, conversed in a foreign language with the woman co-owner, then came back and told me no. I was left with the impression that these people are racist and dont want white customers in their foreign food market. This place is total garbage. The people, the products, the atmosphere. GARBAGE.

This place is now called "Gainesville Market", under totally new and incredibly efficient, professional and polite management. My family and I stopped going there under the previous management for all the right reasons that other customers had mentioned. The new owner has turned things around and you will love walking into the store, the cleanliness, the prices and the variety - including addition of very tasty bakery/pastry items!

I wish there was an option to give zero stars! They have unethical business practices, and very poor customer service. Their female butcher tries to make shady deals with you in an attempt to up sell you meat and the cashier put phantom items on your receipt. When I complained the owner sided with his staff instead of addressing my concerns.

This place has the most friendly staff and such interesting people work there! I went in to checkout what they had and ended up an hour later with a little of all sorts of tasty pastries, spices and extremely free meats. Plus I feel like I made some new friends. Great neighborhood shop!

I went to Gainesville Halal Market this weekend. I was surprised how clean and neat this place is. The meat is fresh and love the organic chicken. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will be going back for sure.
