This is my favorite restaurant in Rochester. Even though I live away, I still get to Mise en Place every time Im back in Rochester (ever month or so). I find the food to be fun, flavorful, and original. The owner Casey, has trained his staff to make the same great dishes that he does even when he isnt there. The atmosphere is very bistro like since the restaurant is set up in a grocery market. I find that I can get gourmet food with a nice relaxed atmosphere. Ive also ordered take out many times when there wasnt seating in the restaurant. You should check it out and go back a few times to check out all of the specials. I most recently had their Haute Plate (gourmet garbage plate) that was on special over Thanksgiving weekend and loved it. I also think that the french fries are awesome, the chicken cutlet delicious, and the soups always a palate pleaser.

Love love love this place Since I live nearby, I can call it a Neighborhood Gem, but its appeal is far wider. I like to bring friends and family to Mise En Place for lunch or dinner. Walking into what they think is a corner grocery store, people are surprised to find the easy ambiance leads to some rather great gourmet meals. The food is consistently excellent. Salads are fresher than anyplace else. I especially like the folks who work there, and the fellow who knows what Im going to order so he doesnt even ask. Eggplant French....a vegetarian treat.

I have been there several times and their food is GREAT. I call in takeout at least a few times per week for myself and my employees. However my last call whomever took the take out call was very rude and just not polite or friendly. I was looking to look past that when i went in to get my lunch (about 20 mins after i was told "gimmie 10...click" ) The sandwich hadnt even been made. No apology just a "wait few mins" as i watched them cut the bread before i walked out hungry. GREAT FOOD though.

I absolutely love this place. They cater to whatever requests you have, even if off menu. The food is phenomenal and inventive. Its the rare restaurant that you can walk in, order a special not ever having tried it, and know youre going to get it well-made, tasty, and walk out loving it. I ate at this restaurant almost every day for 2 years. It is a gem. You must try the brussel sprouts. - Buddy

Sure technically this is a grocery store but it is also do much more. Its also a specially food and beer market, a deli, and one one of the best small eateries in the city. Hands down the best fish fry in the city and week of the year. Very relaxing atmosphere and old time feel with a modern touch

I went here on a quiet Wednesday night with some friends for dinner. Although it doesnt look like a restaurant, its one of Rochesters hidden gems. They have all sorts of food products, and the dinner I had (seafood pasta) was excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Probably my favorite place in Rochester. The food is fantastic, I love that you can get Boars Head deli met to go for a reasonable price, great craft beer selection and a friendly staff. Easily the best Mac N Cheese in Rochester too!

Great food both cold and hot, you can order, grab a drink ( including good beer selection) and they will bring the food to your table. They also have a small but thoughtfully stocked grocery store as part of the restaurant.

Awesome selection of deli and lunches, the meals are all top notch. Casey usually has specialty deli meats as well on top of homemade pastrami occasionally. The grocery section is a nice added bonus
