I had been researching putters online and thought I would go to a golf store to check it out. The service was good. I purchased $365 worth of merchandise including a putter. I had said to John at checkout before I checked out if they honored the online offers. He said they did. I got home and checked. There was a $50 off for more than $250. So I called John and he checked with the "boss" who said ok, but that I would have to come in to get this deal. It was Friday afternoon and I live in Gainesville. I thought I would go on Monday. Well....I went on Monday and reported the same information to the "store manager" who refused to provide the $50 off noted on the same page as the retail store information on the website. Lesson learned? I highly recommend you shop at the store for what you think you want and then go home, order online. The deals are far more favorable than at the store. Needless to say, I am not happy.

I read both of the previous reviews and had very skeptical thoughts about going to Golf Galaxy. I had a WONDERFUL expeirence yesterday. I had Chris as a sales assistant and he was very knowledgeable about the products and helped me though out the process. I went in to purchase a new putter and walked away with one that was complete fitted to me and my swing. After that I wanted to see about getting fitted for a set of irons and drivers (complete system revamp is approaching) and he assisted me for close to 2 hours. We went through multiple different iron and driver heads and shafts to find the perfect fit. it ended with me hitting a drive 362 yds (according to the launch moniter). I have NEVER hit the ball even close to that. Chris also consulted with Greg about a few things and i was fully specd for a new set of clubs. I will be returning and sending others there.

Buy only if you know the product without possibility of return, and do not ask for advice. Two sales reps told me that the item (GPS) I was purchasing performed a feature (club avg in yards), it did not. The manager said that I had to work a return or store credit through the manufacture and not them. He also said that he had no issue with the sales reps misinforming me because I did not like the item and that they are not legally obligate to tell me the return policy. I said it is different between not likely something and buying something that you were told did something but didnt. He disagreed and told me to call the manufacture and that he had to go. The store is great in which it has many products in stock. I just wished they would just admit if they dont know something, just say it and not cost a customer hundreds and lost time trying to fix their mistake.

Poor customer service. I went in a couple weeks back because I was considering selling my current sand wedge and purchase a new one. One of the sales associates harassed me about using the simulator and said that they try to keep the simulators available for customers who are going to buy new clubs. He never asked if I was interested in getting a fitting for new clubs. I visited the store recently, late in the day to rent the simulator, like the first sales representative recommended, and they told me the simulator is saved for fittings during the weekends and that I couldnt rent it out. Im so disappointed by there poor customer, I have shopped at golf Galaxy for years.

I went into the Fairfax, VA store looking to purchase my son some appropriately sized junior clubs. We found the selection and was helped by the cashier. I use the term "helped" loosely. I expected more help than someone saying, "Oh, he can just choke up until he grows into them.". I thought that maybe I could take the clubs over to the golf swing analyzing area in the back where there would be room for him to swing it. I was told Golf Galaxy does not allow children to swing the clubs due to insurance reasons. Thats ridiculous. I was certainly put off by this. Golf Galaxy lost a sale today. I will not recommend Golf Galaxy to my friends and neighbors.

The store is not "beginner friendly." They seemed reluctant to assist customers who are not knowledgeable about golf; making it very intimidating to ask questions. Regardless of the fact, I insisted and purchased 3 golf lessons hoping to learn more about the sport. My first session was not what I expected. It was all computer analyzed and less hands on. I went home clueless of how my form should be. To be honest, I learned more from watching youtube videos. I rather use the 2 sessions I got left as store credit since I cannot get my money back.

Told the sales associate i was a beginer and he immediately lost interest and proceded to ignore my questions and went to help another guy who came in who played alot..if your looking to learn about clubs or other things id recommened doing reasearch on your own before since the sales associate didnt feel like explaining and answering questions. If you know what your doing and talking about the store has very good prices and good selection but if your a beginer or just getting back into the game i would not recommed going there.

Went to Golf Galaxy because I had walked in once before and knew they had a good selection. I had 3-4 putters in mind that I had researched and the associate showed me everything (plus more), had a nice conversation with me, made recommendations, then allowed me to make my own decision. They put a new grip on for me, as I like the Winn oversize grips on my putter and sent me on my way. Appreciated how helpful everyone was!

Have been to Dicks in Fairfax twice. First time I was completely ignored for the 30 minutes I was there. The second time I was approached and told they did not carry what I wanted. I walked around the next isle and found what I wanted. Well stocked with too many sets of left handed clubs. This is written to express that Galaxy may not be perfect, but the main competition at retail may not be much better.

I purchased a new clubhead with a broken shaft off of eBay and then took it to Golf Galaxy to get a shaft and grip. The repair associate was very nice, took a ton of time to explain my shaft options, and I ended up with a very reasonably priced "new" driver. I didnt have any interaction with the sales associates or pro so I cant address the other less than glowing comments along those lines.

I recently found Golf Galaxy after all of the Goldsmith stores in the DC area closed. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and they offer a wide range of products and services. Their lefty club selection isnt great, but it is much better than other retailers in the area. If you are looking to get fitted for clubs, talk to Ryan, he is really knowledgeable and knows what he is doing!

Poor service. I was completely ignored by the salesmen, not even a HELLO, but the MEN who came through the door were all helped immediately. I wish I were exaggerating, but Im not. I timed it: I was in the store 20 minutes before I finally had to ASK to be helped. Will not come back here to be treated so poorly...
