Pros: Located at the farthest end of City of Fairfax, at the corner of Picket & 236 also called Main Street, several shopping places and restaurants to go to, variety of foods to try including a great Thai restaurant and if you are really starving an all you can eat Old County Buffet. My best place to visit is the Lifetime Fitness gym open 24/7. Cons: There is an overactive City Police Camera ingeniously located @ the crossing of Picket Road and Main street issuing $50 tickets every 2-10 minutes. Camera expects everyone to stop no less then 10 seconds at stop light before turning right, unless you want to receive an automated "Rolling stop violation" ticket in the mail. Camera expects you to stop before the line not an inch over the white stop line. A $1 McDonald fries for your kid will cost cost you $51 if you do not follow Camera parameters. It is improved. I love the theater, but it needs better food. The Korean barbecue place opening in the not too distant future may help solve this. There is good parking and decent shops. While parking is plentiful, it is annoying, but you will find a spot. Mostly it feels low to moderate rent, which is an improvement over the low rent down market feel before Best Buy and DSW moved in. The Old Country Buffet and the Thai restaurants closing are other improvements, but I dont know what is opening where the Thai place was or how good Korean BBQ will be. Likely whatever will be better.

Trader Joes is always busy, but ample parking is available. They added parking behind the mall too. I like the bagels at Einstein, the mall recently got a face lift so it looks nice. You can get your car fixed at AAA and take the kids to chuckie cheese right next door. Or swing by the pet shop to see all the cute animals. The pho is not bad and their staff is great next door ... Sad to see 3 empty shops. They could use a taco bamba, 5 guys, or other restaurants here. Japanese place, blue ocean is a great spot for sushi, really top notch.

Its a typical 70s vintage strip mall in Fairfax City. Adjacent to the Turnpike and Pickett shopping centers, which straddle Pickett at 236. The 3 malls more or less form one big mall, which has pretty much everything you need except a hardware store, but this is not someplace that you would go to unless you live within 4 or 5 miles. Has a Shoppers Food Warehouse, and a liquor store, and a decent Chinese place (China Star?). Getting in to and out of the too-small parking lot can be a monumental hassle, but thats not unusual for NoVA.

This is a nice little shopping strip with stores like -Bed, Bath and Beyond - Best Buy - Shoppers Grocery.. etc .. also there is a small theatre .. All of this is located in a good area .. not overwhelming for the area .. so residents in the area dont have to go far for their needs. Marshalls and Ross help with clothing purchases and the walkways are clean .. store fronts are inviting. Plenty of parking places .. a traffic light helps to move people in and out well ...

Bane Song

An outdoor mall that has a few good draws, but needs a major facelift. The hobby shop is a great way to waste a day (and a ton of money), a boutique movie theater, and a great option for breakfast at First Watch (as long as you are willing to wait for a table). Add to that a bunch of chain locations, and few options to make a left hand turn exiting the parking lot, and you have the center in a nutshell.

One of my favorite places to shop because it is so conveniently located & has a large variety of businesses. The movie theater is quaint & rarely crowded, lots of yummy food options (my favorite is Banyan Tree), Five Below, ULTA, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hallmark, Carters, JoAnn Fabrics... getting in & out of the parking lot can be a pain but thats pretty common around nova.

Man is the parking horrendous! Its a bit better now that the buffet restaurant is closed. Its not a matter of getting a CLOSE spot, its IF you can find a spot at all! That said, its a place where all members of the family can shop or kill some time. The men and kids will especially enjoy the Hobby shop thats in the corner.

This place has a variety of stores to go to. Lifetime fitness and shoppers have been here for as long as I can remember. This is located right across Woodson high school and has a few places to go eat and shop around. The movie theatre here is really cheap on weekday mornings. I like how the parking lot is so big here.

Fair city mall has a lot of great stores including another shopping center across the street. They may be named different plazas, but to me they are all one right after another 3 in total. Everything you need is here from Einstein bagel (east side of Pickett Rd) to a BestBuy and a Lifetime Fitness.

Conveniently located on Main Street of city Fairfax, this mall includes a sizable collection of shopping stores, restaurants, pharmacies, beauty shops and other famous brands. A high customer traffic makes it great place to invest or visit for your daily needs with your family.

Shoppers grocery is great source for good deli-cut roast beef (try to also get $.50 coupon!). Pineapples too small for price charged... Costco pineapples are much larger for same price. To assure ripeness, try to pick center leaf; if comes out easily, its ripe.

Although it does not have many stores, the mall offers things that teenagers enjoy, such as a movie theater, Five Below, Chipotle, and a frozen yogurt place. Its a nice neighborhood mall and a perfect hangout for students of two large schools across the street.

This mall is not big but is where you can shop for almost everything, including Shoppers, Best Buy, Lifetime Gym etc. A few days ago, Korean BBQ restaurant was created in place of the Old Kantor Buffet. I have not visited yet, but the small is awesome.

This is one of my favorite mall in the dmv. Lots of friendly people too. If you do go to the actual dmv there, come early and bring something to read while in line. It takes a while, but the staff is helpful.

This is a strip with a lot of retail stores ULTA, DSW, MARSHALLS and a lot of restaurants. Its a good place to eat breakfast or brunch as the parking lot is bigger and not hard to find one on weekends

Small mall area with a small movie theater inside. The Mama Lucia Italian restaurant has a really good white pizza if you are into those. There is also a small Hobby shop and an Old Country Buffet

It is a local strip mall with a good selection of retailers. Nothing fancy, but convenient and has what one needs for all the basics plus a bit beyond - groceries, food, electronics, clothes, etc.

Hyun Jai Cho

Really great: plenty of variety in food and popular dessert options. Try to avoid right after school or on Fridays because its across the street from a high school and it tends to get crowded
