DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE! UPDATE 7/13/16 I JUST RECEIVED MY HARD TAGS ALTHOUGH I PURCHASED MY CAR ON 4/14/16 (3 MONTHS AGO)! SEE BELOW FOR A COPY OF THE LETTER DETAILING MY HORROR SENT TO BBB, THE VA DMV, AND THE VA DMV DEALER BOARD... To Whom it May Concern, I would like to file a formal complaint against G&N Auto of Chantilly, VA. On April 14, 2016, I purchased a 2004 Honda Accord and paid for tags/registration from TJ Taneja (owner). At time of purchase, I explained to TJ that although my ID has a DC address, the tags should be registered to my home in VA. I also asked for a Carfax report. I provided proof of insurance for the 2004 Honda at time of purchase with my VA address. And, my first set of temp tags were also linked to my VA address. Problem is, my first set of temp tags expired on May 16th, and no one from G&N Auto sent my hard tags. I had to call and ask for my tags, at which time I was told, they were understaffed in the tag/title department and would get some more temp tags to me. I waited 2 days for a new set of temp tags, and could not operate my car during this time. I also emailed TJ and told him the Carfax report he sent was for a similar 2004 Honda Accord and not mine. However, he never sent the corrected report. I have since learned that my vehicle has a rebuilt transmission. The second set of temp tags arrived May 18, 2016 and expired June 17, 2016. Days before the tags expired I called G&N Auto, and thats when the run around began. Ultimately, I was told that G&N Auto did not send my title and paperwork to the VA DMV within the allotted time due to an oversight and that they could not issue another set of temp tags. As for my hard tags, G&N Auto decided to send my paper work to DC DMV. The proof of insurance given on April 14, 2016, and my first and second set of temp tags had my VA address. So, I am unsure why G&N Auto sent my paperwork to DC and then proceeded to give me problems to correct. Zack (manager) of G&N Auto, instructed me to call my bank Westlake Financial and ask them for a copy of my title. However, the bank enforced this procedure on the dealership, said they communicated with Zack and he would correct. And, Zack admitted to their mistake and told me and my bank he would fix it, and said he would compensate me. Two weeks later still without tags, I called G&N Auto, they knew nothing about my tags, or the enforcement. And, after countless phone calls, and managers avoiding me, I finally received my hard tags today July 13, 2016. I went 30 days without tags, unable to drive my car due to G&N Auto. To make matters worse, for unknown reasons Zack changed his mind and refused to compensate me. Although I still had to pay a car note, car insurance, had to pay for a rental car, loss money at work due to lack of transportation, and was forced to use leave. If you look at all the paperwork, dates, etc... You will see that G&N Auto failed to process my tags appropriately, and failed to provide my tags within a reasonable amount of time. Yet, I have incurred expenses, and a lot of aggravation without any compensation. They havent even offered an apology, instead TJ threatened to call the police if I returned to his dealership. In fact, I had to threaten to file a formal complaint to get them to even listen to me (see attached). G&N Autos lack of professionalism, organization and remorse is unbelievable. I have asked for $3500.00 be returned to me by Friday July 22, 2016 or I will seek legal action. However, since G&N Auto is a dealer in the state of Virginia I felt compelled to make sure you were notified of their "crooked" business practices. Any assistance in rectifying this situation before I seek legal action for compensation would be greatly appreciated. I have notified, the Better Business Bureau, the VA DMV, Westlake Bank and even WJLA to bring attention to their business practices.

Update: 12/07/2016: ARE YOU FREEKING KIDDING ME? This dealership never released the title for my vehicle to the bank, and the bank is unable to get the title from DMV because DMV never received a bill of sale. How is this place even still in business? Will be reporting this dealership to DMV. They should have their license pulled for the crap business they run. --------------------------------------------------------------- Should be Zero Stars for Breach of Contract. Beware of this dealer. 08/16/2016 UPDATE One Friday August 12, I visited the dealership and met with the owner who said he would personally look into this. He provided me with the check number and said he get back to me that afternoon once he had a chance to talk to the bank. That never happened and payment has still not been received by my bank. To say I am very frustrated is an understatement. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I purchased a vehicle from GN Auto on 6/22/2016. That deal included a trade, which had a lien balance to which the dealer was to pay off. To date, almost 45 days later, that lien balance has not been paid off, and I am left making payments on a vehicle I no longer have in my possession (but still hold the title to) so my loan does not go into default. I have called the finance department at GN Auto and was told the first time that a check for the payoff was being mailed at the end of the week. That was on July 28th. I called again on August 8th and was told they were checking with Zak, the general manager to see if the check was mailed, and they would call me back to let me know what the status was. I never received a return call. I called several times on 8/9 and 8/10, and received no answer from the finance dept,. I have now filed a formal complaint against the dealership for breach of contract with the Better Business Bureau as well as with the Virginia Dept of Motor vehicles. There should be no reason for them to take this long to send payment for a payoff. Do not go here. My experience at gnauto in chantilly va started very well they seemed to be very respectable, professional, and honest they are none of these things. They are disrespectful, unprofessional, and dishonest. They absolutely do not return phone calls. They do nothing that they say they will do. They lied so much just about everything they said to me. If you go here every other sentence they say to you will be a lie. They talk about customers behind their back I overheard two employees of gnauto talking about how they just suckered some customer out of 2000$ dollars (on April 21,2016). (Im not sure how they did it but they were very proud of it.) bottom line my experience was horrible the worst car dealer experience ever. Do Not Go Here. They had me leave a cash deposit told me blatantly, clearly, and without any doubt that I could pick up the car the following day pending loan approval. My credit was bad almost non existent except for a car I paid off and two things Im never gonna pay, long story short they couldnt get me approved. Never returned any of my calls but always answered took my number (as if they forgot it from the last time I called) and gave exact times when I could expect to hear from them but they never called back at all 3 different times. They kept faking like they were understaffed I was told there was only one person working. But when I arrived late that day close to closing around 6pm April 21st. There were 7 employees in there ..more lies from gn. I walk in to get my deposit back before they closed and they are still faking like they are still working on this and that. After a while of waiting I was signaled from the customer sitting and waiting to be robbed area into the Gn auto garage where I was told I just need to keep waiting that with my credit its hard to get approved. I said that I wanted my deposit back and was no longer interested in doing business with them his attitude changed. He told me some bull about they would mail me a check just wait on it. Yeah right I said , I paid cash less than 24 hours ago I want cash back he said no and I kept insisting on getting my money back now. They cant be trusted I drove 50 miles they were going to give it back regardless that I knew for sure they are so shady fake and dishonest I did not trust them at all I was told to leave and he attempted to intimidate me he was much bigger than me but I came very prayed up . I was not afraid after more attempted intimidating in front of customers they finally gave me my money back on the spot. Oh almost forgot they also hide problems with their cars just to get the sale knowing parts need to be replaced.|
