I just moved to this area from DC and REALLY want to love this Target. Its in a convenient location with great hours and has a big parking lot. There are a few huge problems with the location though, most of which other reviewers have already hit on: -The staff is just terrible. The customer service department is visually a disaster, and despite usually having 4-6 workers, only one person is ever actually handling customers. Dont ever expect to make it through the return line in less then 20 minutes. The checkouts are SO slow. If you can manage to find a staff member to ask, they never seem to know if certain products are carried. -The selection is really lacking. Think this Target is the kind of place youd go for lightbulbs, towel hangers, table lamps, etc? Think again. They dont carry whole black pepper, as a personal example. Even when they do carry something (like lightbulbs), the selection is extremely limited and random. Just walking through the aisles, you can see tons of empty room on shelves. Then on top of this, the organization is confusing -- they dont have a soda aisle, but just stock them in the little end displays. -They cant manage to use the phone properly. Just like other reviewers, each time Ive called Ive been transferred from department to department until the call was eventually just dropped or ignored. TL;DR: Need WAY more selection and better staff.

Placed an online order for a single item which said it would be ready in 2 hours and to wait for an email. After 2.5 hours I called to see if I could come get it. The operator transferred me around and around with no responses and lines that just kept on ringing. I had to keep hanging up and calling back. Finally someone from "guest services" answered and told me to call again in two hours. So 5 hours after my online purchase I called back again only to find a new shift of just as confused people transferring me around and me getting hung up on and having to call back. I cannot believe that Target does not train its staff accordingly to know how to handle an online order. They kept asking me for a part number when all I had from my online purchase was the purchase order number. After 10 phone calls a knowledgeable person from the stock room was finally brought to the phone to tell me that no the website was not correct, the item was not in stock and was being shipped from their offsite location... Took over an hour and 10 phone calls to figure this out. So much for same day service. Very disappointed.

This is the nicest Target within 1 hour of DC. The store is neat, well organized and the staff are friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. This location is well stocked in health & beauty, paper products, pet care & pet food, greeting cards, home decor and furnishings, home lighting, home office decor & supplies, bed & bath linens, window curtains, cleaning supplies, kitchenwares, small kitchen appliances, china, flatware & serving pieces, kids bikes, work-out & yoga gear, boys & girls clothing and back-to-school supplies. The parking lot is a regular outdoor parking lot with normal sized spaces. I appreciate their kind and professional staff, as well as, stress-free complimentary parking. September 1, 2016 Update: I still really love this Target store. They really do have the nicest most caring staff from management to stock clerks to cashiers. However several of the Price Check kiosks are broken and have been out-of-service since April or May. 4 months is too long to wait for repairs or replacements. Please repair or replace. Thank you.

Beware of any tactic used to get you to sign up for an unwanted Target credit card...I went to this Target store (3101 Jefferson Davis Hwy, alexandria) two weeks ago and at the checkout the cashier asked me to get a Target credit card called a Redcard. I specifically told her NO because I DID NOT want any extra credit checks to lower my credit score – I was buying a new car. I told her that Id prefer to get a "discount" card that required no credit check. She said I could get a debit REDcard. She told me to enter my SSN…? I went whoa! I specifically told her again, hey NO CREDIT CHECK; I don’t want this if there’s a credit check. She said, “Sir, I understand ...” this will get you a debit card and no credit check. Well! Three days ago I received my Target credit card in the mail. Dang! I canceled it just now and made a customer complaint – whatever good that will do. Anyway, beware of the hard sale at the cash register is all I’m saying!

Probably the worst target Ive ever been to. The shelves are so bare! They do a 25 minute "huddle" so I couldnt find any associate to help me locate an item.. When I eventually asked an associate in the very back of the "huddle" she didnt even know what I was saying and no one around her could help. Usually "huddles" are done before a store opens... I work retail as well. None of the associates I spoke with had any knowledge of where certain items would be; which makes sense because the store shelves are so bare that they probably didnt even carry that item. Sadly, I will just drive further than the 5 minutes it takes me to get to this target just to go to a better target.

My wife and I bought a Ninja professional, normally $260, but on sale for about $200. We got it home, and it was the wrong base unit and the unit was covered in old food stuff as well as one of the mixing containers. Someone must have used and returned it and Target didnt check it! I called and filed a complaint, but nothing happened. Then I went tonight to return it, but they were out replacements. So two trips and a phone call and I still dont have a blender. I have been shopping a Target for years and I have been a Red Card holder since 2010 - between this and the recent Target data breach, I will likely never shop at this poor excuse for a national chain store again.

I just wanted to check if they had a tent in stock. On-line it said limited availability so I wanted to check before I made the drive. THEY PUT ME ON HOLD 8 TIMES!!They just kept answering like it was my first time calling, then said please hold just 1 minute.. 10 minutes later they would answer again "Hello target may I help you?" .. then "Please hold 1 minute".. 8 times.. Finally I just went from DC to Falls Church! Not EVERYONE speaks Spanish these days! Get a bilingual person to answer the phone or dont bother. TERRIBLE PHONE SERVICE

Awesome, awesome place!!! Very nice and clean, good prices on electronics, very nice staff. Shopping here is like shopping at a Mall, but with better prices. I have been here a while, the last time Ive been here, on my birthday, my dad bought me a PS2 black slim on my birthday with GTA 3, DBZ: Budokia 2, the Hobbit and a Yu-Gi-Oh game, and a lot of staff there was willing to help me out, especially a nice African American there who works there. I also found good deals on Yu-Gi-Oh cards here, as well.

I absolutely LOVE this target! By far one of the best ones in the area (I am a religious Target shopper). They just started an expansion to add a Starbucks and it will bring this place to the next level. Aside from that, staff is always great and the store is always clean. I almost never have an issue finding what I need and the Target app is NEVER wrong about inventory here. This is one of the best locations I have been too and they do an amazing job.
