I found Mount Vernon Computer Repair in the mist of a crisis with my work laptop. I had accidentally caused water damage and was panicked that Id not only destroyed my laptop but lost all my important files. Working with Daryl was great. He called me back promptly, examined and diagnosed my computer all in the same day. He runs a very honest business and explained that the damage was so extensive it would be more affordable to replace the laptop. Luckily my data could be saved which was a relief. I work for a non profit that assists our wounded service members and we work tirelessly to ensure 94 cents of every dollar goes to our mission. Though his price was very fair, my organization had decided that it was in our best interest to wait on purchasing any data recovery services. When I explained the situation to Daryl he researched our organization and decided to donate his time and services to save my files. I was speechless at his generosity. He single handedly recovered all my files and allowed me to continue working without missing a beat. I had all my files back within less than 24 hours!! Daryl is very knowledgable, professional, a pleasure to work with and a great guy. I really cannot thank him enough for his donation and generosity. I am so glad I called Mount Vernon Computer Repair! Daryl saved the day and I would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing help with computer set up and/or repairs. Thank you Daryl!!

I asked Daryl to replace a lcd screen on my Sony VAIO Z1290X, which is light, high-end Sony laptop that has a lot crammed into a small space. Daryl was honest and told me needed more time because he needed to replace a cable he damaged that went through the left hinge. But, after he returned the computer, I realized the lid wobbled, left hinge was not centered, light sensor lens was missing, computer would not shut down when lid was closed, and screen was not same 1920x1080 image. After spending over $500 and 100 hours with Sony and Encompass Parts, we found lcd was not right, lens for light sensor as missing, a small magnet sensor in the lcd lid was missing, the left hinge was bent, and screws were not put back in proper spots (allowing lid to be lose) and some were missing. I am sure this was due, in part, to delay waiting for a replacement cable, but a $200 replacement ended up costing me over $500 and many hours with Sony and Encompass to correct what was returned. I want to add that Daryl was courteous and did reduce the price he charged for his attempt to replace the lcd screen. Just the same, I would appreciate reimbursement for my cost to buy missing and damaged parts. I have photos of the laptop taken after it was returned and before I corrected the damage. Thank you.

My teenager did not properly back up her laptop. So, when it totally crashed she lost access to her English final and all her junior year school files. In a panic we called Daryl on a Sat morning. He was able to retrieve all her files and make them available for use on either a PC or Mac. We have both and were not sure which computer would be used to finish up the school year. We had the all her files by 6pm that same Sat. You will not go wrong with Daryl. His prices are reasonable and we found him knowledgeable and honest. We will be using Daryl again for any future problems.
