A dark dirty little hole in the wall. No one bother to even ask us if we needed any helpful advice. after looking at the over priced stock they have. They didnt have anything pink for the lady I was with in her price rage yet upstairs she found something that fit her needs and the price wasnt to high. By the time we got back downstairs we both were so hot. The place is like 90 100 degrees. Its time to fill out the paperwork. Well dont you know the sales guy was confused. He doesnt have a clue why a man would be showing a lady about guns. Like its unheard of. Thats not confusing at all. Yet the sales guy in his head theres something wrong with a guy showing a girl guns at a gun store.maybe if they got off their ass n asked us if we needed any help he would not be assuming. Even before given us the paperwork work. after setting the confused sales person straight we asked for two forms one for myself and one for her. This way theres no reason for doubt why we are there. The sales guy then looks at us n saying if one of you fails the paperwork you both dont get to buy. Like thats even a issue After the lady who Im there with then again explains why we are there. The sales guy decided to get the owner of the shop. by the time we spent there in the hot dirty smelly hole. Ive had about enough of this place n the plp in it. We had already explained to them confused plp enough. I pickup the paperwork took it with me that they insisted they had to have back. They got it their paperwork back. Trashy place with very confusing plp inside dont go to this gun shop if your looking for nice helpful plp. maybe if they let the day light in there they might not be in the dark all the time...

First off I want to say that anyone who post a bad commit about this place has NO idea what theyre talking about. I have a vary large collection of firearms, well over 150 grand invested in just guns alone with many of my purchases coming form Powderhorn. I live in Southern Vt and every time Im in the market for new gear or a firearm I do not hesitate to make the 3 hour trip north. As for the haters who called the shop racist you are way out of line, the staff at Powderhorn has been more then helpful in the nicest way possible to me and my friend who goes with me most of the time who of which is African American. Please anyone who has not been to the store themselves do not let these unintelligent haters keep you from going, you will be missing out on the best firearm/outdoor stores in this part of the country. I have access to wholesale pricing and for some reason Powderhorns prices for the most part come in below wholesale. That in part with how knowledgeable the sales team is makes Powderhorn unbeatable in the firearm market. Like I said, I live 3 hours away and dont know anyone working there by name, this is 100% my opinion and not written in the stores behalf. With the way this country is heading with firearms taking the heat for the mentally ill cowards who live amongst us you better get what you want now before its to late and Powderhorn is the place to do it.

This is the first gun shop that I have ever been to where the service is horrendous, the shop is filthy, and overall atmosphere feels like youre buying from someones basement. If you are allergic to dust DONT even bother. The bottom floor section is disgusting. I would say a good amount of the rifles I looked at/picked up were covered in dust. And it seemed like every other firearm I picked up was on FIRE not SAFE. I know they are all unloaded and all but still, thats first day stuff. The service was horrible! I walked around for a good 45 minutes looking at everything and not one person asked me if I needed help! That is appalling. I know what I am doing with firearms and have been shooting for many years. But still, I was not helped unless I asked. There was one gentleman there who when I talked to him he was very helpful, however thats the only interaction I had there. The owner, or at least I think he was, just walked around and stood watching people with his arms crossed. If you really care about your sales and shop, why is the service horrible and the shop disgusting!? The only good thing I can say is that they had a really cool selection and that one guy was very friendly and helpful. I WILL NOT buy from them after what I saw.

Great gun selection for sure ! Just think they should take care of paying customers rather then talking to someone about buying logs! I went their to buy and leave I ended up waiting for half hr listening to the owner talk about logs to another guy while holding my paperwork inhis hand ! I almost left but he had done background check so I waited it out, then we get to register and the gun I purchased wasnt even logged into system so more waiting! And its hot as hell in this place I almost just said forget it but nope come this far so finally after three tries it was ready to purchase. For as many people that work their there shouldnt be anybody waiting on a purchase so I gotta disagree witpeople who say the service is great either your friends with these guys or youve never been to a real shop. This is a honest non biased post just my experience . And yes Ive been their a few other times and left because I couldnt get anyone to sell me something all they do is bs with people its kinda like a damn hangout.Stick to smaller shops you will have better exoerience and less overhead means you dicker prices

The Powderhorn is my go-to store for anything gun related. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The store is almost always insanely busy, but they do a great job of trying to make sure everyone is taken care of. Nate is relentless in tracking down guns and components and every time they had to order something for me that wasnt in stock, they were right up front about the pricing. As a 15 year customer, Ive never had any reason to doubt that Bill and his team were giving me a fair and honest price. Ive also known these guys to keep a bit of ammo in fast sellout calibers, that they could easily be selling, set aside so that customers wouldnt have to wait to find ammo to try out their new gun. That tells me that its not just about the money here. The store itself is PACKED with a wide assortment of firearms. An excellent balance of handguns, modern rifles, traditional hunting rifles, shotguns and muzzle loaders as well as the widest assortment of holsters Ive seen in VT. A large selection of knives, lights, sights, scopes, cleaning equipment, ammo and targets round out the store.

The guys at Powderhorn are extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and customer driven. I misjudged their hours once and showed up about 45 minutes before they were open. The owner let me in while he was preparing the store for the day and answered every rifle question I had even though I wasnt looking to spend a dime that day. You dont get that kind of service just anywhere. Ive been searching for a particular rifle for some time now that is somewhat hard to find locally. The guys there have spent quite a bit of time with me working with their distributors to locate the rifle I want, and offered to do a very reasonably priced FFL transfer if they cant get the gun themselves and I find it online. They put in the time, and make the effort to build customer loyalty. If you are in the market for a gun of any type make Powderhorn your first stop. They also carry a wide selection of ammo, very reasonably priced. Weather it is "Whatever goes down range" for range practice, or high end target ammo, or home defense rounds they have it.
