I have never had a worse experience with staff at any store. The woman I spoke to, "Ashley", was incredibly rude, accusatory, and hostile towards me. I came into Petco looking to buy a snail for my one of my two planted aquariums, and had some questions about which breeds of snails are the best algae eaters, and whether I could put a snail in with my Betta and if so which breed of snail would be best. First off, she accused me of only wanting a snail because I was lazy and didnt want to clean my tank, which was extremely rude and unwarranted. Then, she went on to say that since I had a Betta fish she would not sell me a snail, because my Betta would kill it and she didnt believe me that I had a second bette-free tank. There were many ways she could have gone about having this conversation with me, but her mannerisms and word choice were shockingly hostile and inexcusably rude, especially from someone working in sales. I realize that likely many inexperienced fish owners come into Petco and buy fish that they do not have adequate habitats for, but that does not permit anyone to act the way this woman did. If I had the time to spare, I would have left at that point and gone to another pet store, but I didnt and still needed a snail. I did end up buying a zebra snail from Petco, but that will be the last time I go into Petco. Ive always had great interactions with the staff at Petco and its unfortunate that someone like Ashley works there.

I was going there to get my dogs nails trimmed. I have one dog that doesnt have a care about his feet being touched. The staff there are nice and kind and all smiles when it comes to him. Hes a smaller dog. My other dog is about medium size. He does not like his feet touched. He does not not bite, but he does growel when hes had enough touching. When he does growel that stop working with him. Even if that means only one paw has been done. They dont take their time with him. They rush him in and stop at any sign of irritatation. They dont calm him down or find any ways to comfort him. The staff is less friendly and theres less smiles when I hand him to the groomer. They do not do good work with fussy or high anxiety dogs. The last thing that eerked me was they got one paw into cutting his nails and he started groweling. I was expected to pay for the full price. No discount. Full price. $15 for one paw? I could look past the fee if they did all they could to comfort him.

purchased a corn snake from them and followed every single little detailed instruction they give you on there "care" sheet. Snake was $40, died within 3 weeks. 4 friends of mine at UVM on my floor all bought themselves pets from this Petco and none of them lasted for longer than a month. The animals at this specific location seem malnourished and mistreated. I knew Petco was a pathetic excuse for a business anyway, but THIS Petco is by far the worst Ive ever been to. The manager and employees should be working at a car wash or Wal-Mart, not dealing with living creatures. Please, save yourself the grief and purchase your animals elsewhere....

The grooming salon is just wonderful I have been taking my dogs for years now and they get it just right every time. They are pleasant, timely and willing to take a moment to talk about what I want dog to look like. When I come back to pick them up they give me updates on how they where and let me check them over to see if there are any changes that need to be made. I definitely recommend you give them a shot. Abby is my personal favorite but I am sure the others would do exceptional as well. =)

Large pet supermarket. Carries a wide variety of rodents, ferrets, birds (small to medium), reptiles, fish, and cats, which all appeared to be in good health. Also stocks cages as well as bedding and food supplies for most animals. No equine section, however. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable.

I love Petco in Burligton Vermont!!! I get to buy crickets in the winter time when theres no crickets in winter. I buy them to keep as pets and to listen to peaceful sounds when Im sleeping. Theres also a variety of stuff at Petco. THANK YOU PETCO!!!

Sold me a clearly sick frog that died within 48 hours of me bringing it home and then requested that I bring them my dead frog to prove its dead so I could get a refund, I didnt even care about the refund, just wanted them to aknowledge what they did

Never enough cashiers around. I feel sorry for the betta fish. The water in their already in tiny containers is filthy and half has evaporated away. Some aquatic plants are dead and slimy. Take better care of the living things in your store please.

I find this place amazing. If they say bad things about this place obviously they do not come here on a regular basis. I come here once a month or so and all of my reptiles are from here. This place is wonderful, and I strongly suggest you go here!

The place smells like smelly rats, but they would sell more gerbils if the store smelled clean. They have what youre looking for, but usually there is a cart of products to be shelved in the way...And no one actually putting the items away.

I always like going to Petco. They have different varieties of animals to choose from. They also have great customer service annd are willing to interact with animals. What other jobs do that besides Petco. That is why I love Petco.

Well im not sure about anything other than the dog sections but their dog treats, bones, rawhide is many times a bit thinned out, with no restock attempt for months. The dog food selection is great though

For a big box pet store, this Petco has a nice selection and is never too crowded. There can be personal service here if you ask the right staff member. The Grooming is the appeal. Recommended!

Employees are not well informed. Had a experience where a employee told me they only carry my dogs food in 4 lb bags when I have bought 12 lb bag there in the past.

This place is a bit anonymous. I did not find a lot of sales people on the floor to help me out and I was left to pick out dog food without any advice.

Limited canned dog food and treats for a dog that cannot have any chicken, beef, lamb, turkey etc. as a part of any ingredient no matter how small.
