Quite possibly the worst liquor store in the whole state. I went there the last week of October and there were several very aggressive homeless people in the parking lot panhandling. One guy was literally directing traffic, telling them where to park and then wanting them to pay him for parking. Inside the store a severely intoxicated customer dropped a huge bottle of booze on the floor next to me while I was standing next to him in line, he almost splashed alcohol and glass all over me. The best part was the staff, she was militantly IDing everyone. Now, I know staff are supposed to do this but it was her demeanor. Everyone had to have their IDs out for her without her even asking. I still had mine in my wallet and she just stared me down like I ruined her day because she had to ask me for it. The guy behind me who was too drunk to literally hold a bottle, she had zero issue ringing him up. That kind of "attention" should be placed at getting rid of the loiters in the parking lot and people in the store who are too drunk to buy alcohol. This place is a joke.

All Utah liquor stores are a rip off, as the DABC is a fascist regime. But this one is by far the worst. Like all of downtown, the parking lot is a joke, dont even bother trying to park there. If you do manage to find a spot within walking distance you first have to go through a gauntlet of derelicts begging for cash and offering various goods and services you wouldnt let them pay you for them to provide. Once inside youre treated to a lackluster selection of insanely overpriced liquor and they-must-be-joking priced beers. Settling for what they have and knowing you have no choice than to pay (again, fascism, you cant even bring alcohol in from another state that doesnt price-gouge) you then get to stand in ridiculously long and slow lines while listening to mentally unstable people rattle on about nothing or watching toothless meth heads make out while picking their face skin off. In short, its worth going down to the 15th south 300 west location and avoiding this one altogether (or avoiding Utah altogether).

This store is located in the middle of very busy area downtown SLC. The time-frames that they are open are great and is open longer than say the store on North Temple which is convenient for those that want to buy liquor after 5PM. They have a decent selection of beers and liquors here. Parking is very, very tricky. So much so that they have somebody monitoring/controlling parking) directing you where to park as it is so small that you almost cant even back out of the parking stall. Would like to see this expanded in the future or at least make some kind of deal with a nearby parking garage so that this place is a bit more accessible. Although, in all honesty they would probably have to go to a different location altogether, so I guess it is what it is. Overall, not bad for those that dont have the option to go to the North Temple one or those that live in downtown Salt Lake.

This place mimics Utahs liquor laws in general. It sucks! I suggest NEVER going near closing on a Fri or Sat, and if you must avoid parking anywhere near the place. Ive seen 4 accidents in the parking lot. All of which BTW were morons backing into each other. People here cant drive and are the worlds worst backwards drivers. Get them in a situation involving liquor and a rushed atmosphere and BOOM! Happens every time... Employees here are rude, (I dont blame them). Homeless run rampant everywhere near here, and all of downtown for that matter. Hell, just avoid this city altogether.

This liquor store is the worst liquor store in the state. However, it is the only liquor store in the downtown Salt Lake City area thats open after 7 p.m. Their selection is geared to the cheapest alcohol one can find and their shelves are often more than half empty. Its parking lot is a complete disaster as not only are there not enough spaces, but there is often some homeless person trying to direct the traffic in the lot. The employees are the only positive part of this location. Avoid like the plague unless its after 7, then youll have to brave this unique hell.

Friendly service, great variety of products. Google asks, "can you buy kegs here?" The answer is you can only buy kegs in Utah by meeting certain license requirements (utah state liquor license, etcetera), so the individual cannot buy kegs legally, and they cant transport them across state lines. If police catch you your car may be impounded, the keg will be confiscated, and then there are fines. Over all, I enjoy finding new products here, such as recently discovering the seasonal blueberry wine, as well as many items I already enjoy!

The only reason youre looking at reviews for a liquor store is because youre wondering if anyone has yet mentioned how you shouldnt park at McDonalds, for fear of getting booted or towed. Well.... Yup. Dont park at McDonalds. Youll get booted. The parking at this liquor store is a joke, its too busy and too small. Makes for an expensive and annoying evening. Sure wish Utah ABC didnt have a stranglehold on the sale of alcohol so we didnt all have to deal with such a bad purchasing experience.

Except for going to a brewery, bar, or restaurant this is the only place you can get " real" bear because if Utahs 3.2 law. Unfortunately, nothing at this store is refrigerated so plan ahead. Also, the clerks are courteous but seem to only want to get their job done and that is it (e.g. bare bones customer service). Youll also find that it iscan be pretty hard to find a parking space in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Its like going to the liquor store if the liquor store was the DMV and somehow worse than the actual DMV. The parking lot fits about three cars and nearby parking lots have booters hiding in the bushes waiting to pounce as soon as you stop your car. The lines are long, its hot, and the delicious beer the should be refrigerated is sitting in a box on the floor. All around pretty terrible.

Avoid this location if you would like a place to park while you go in. Older location, run down, and parking is ridiculous. Stopped there during a recent visit to SLC for some wine, and was there for about 30 minutes trying to navigate the crowded store, and waiting in line. Parking lot is sketchy at night for sure. Friendly employees though, so its not all bad!

Absolutely the worst experience ever. the store is really really bad, poorly run. I avoid going to this particular location as much as I can, but since all the Avenues store closes at 7 it is sometimes a necessity. Dont even bother trying to go anywhere near there after 6 p.m. on Thursday Friday and Saturday it is an absolute madhouse with no where to park.

Open later than most of the other ones. Parking sucks, usually there are a group of vagrant/anarchist punks & homeless people loitering outside. Also if you park in the McDonalds down the street they immediately boot your car ($75 to get off on site, cash only). Or you can go in buy something from the $ menu and avoid the boot.

they sell beer by the bottle or can here. its extrodinarily expensive here. cheapest beer i found was 1.89 per can of nasty cheap beer. The only people who seem to come here are those that are destitute, bad with money or most likely both. why shop here when most grocery stores sells beer and alcohol much cheaper!
