Dont let fair prices and decent furniture fool you! Its all negated with frustrating service and no take-home options. Other than clearance on showroom items, you cant take ANYTHING with you, so you either must pay a huge shipping fee, or drive to a warehouse way out in west Salt Lake industrial area to pick up your stuff. I spent an extra $40 and 2.5 hours to pick up my first purchase, and realized that was not worth it, so I decided the next purchase to pay for shipping and delivery, which was an even worse experience. We bought a bedroom set in early December and wanted it set up to use for family we had staying with us for Christmas. Didnt happen. No matter how many times I told them we couldnt receive a delivery before 2 pm, they would schedule our bedroom set delivery between 8 am to noon, so I continued to reschedule. The reason? They said that "where we live they must have us at the beginning of the delivery route". After 2 weeks of this, I set up a Saturday delivery, but they didnt bring the bed frame and the night stand was damaged, so another delivery date had to be scheduled. The next call, they asked me to pick up the frame and nightstand in Salt Lake and finish assembly myself. I protested that I paid $150 for those services, so why would I do it myself??? Again, back to the same morning scheduling problem, so after a few more weeks I again asked for a Saturday delivery, but the week they said they could come, we needed to leave around 4 pm. Then, to my surprise they wanted to schedule our delivery from 2 PM to 5 PM! I asked why now the EVENING delivery, since they would never do that for me during the week, and I was dumbfounded when she said that "because of where we live, they must have us at the end of the delivery route!" Exact opposite of what they said before!!! In frustration, I rescheduled for the following week, but when delivery day came, it was snowing. The delivery guys called me to inform us that their truck couldnt make it up the hill to our house, so they asked me to drive down and pick up the parts and finish assembly myself. :( Again, I reminded them that I paid THEM to do that, and again had to reschedule for the following week. As usual, they went back to scheduling a MORNING shipment on Thursday, (grrrrr!!!) so I declined, but they kept texting and emailing me that they were coming anyway, since obviously the idea is that the customers convenience is not an option. I finally ignored the messages and determined out of frustration to just let them come to our empty home, but they lucked out that my daughter and friend just happened to be at the house when they arrived, so they let them in. The work finally was completed in late January, well over a month and a half from purchase date. There was no effort to accommodate our schedule, remember our requests, and twice they were OK with us paying for shipping & delivery, but then asking me to pick up and assemble myself. Needless to say, I will not shop at Ashley furniture again.

The shopping experience was fine, and the furniture was what was expected. However, we not only had to wait for THREE different deliveries for each item we purchased (a sofa, a loveseat, and a bed) which was entirely inconvenient and disturbed work schedules, but my BIGGEST complaint is that the store made an accounting error, charged our Ashley Home Store Advantage card with an additional error totaling nearly $4000, pushing the card over the limit, and then stated that the mistake could take around 30 days to fix but that it "wouldnt impact [my] credit" -- my well established credit score of which I was quite proud has been dinged thanks to complete accounting incompetency on the Orem stores part. Yes they owned up to it. No they did not resolve the issue immediately. We purchased the furniture in early January but did not get all of it in our home until late January. The extra charge showed up at the end of February. Its April and Im STILL waiting for the mistake to be resolved. This is beyond frustrating as the days go by and my credit score continues to be impacted. I will NEVER use Ashley again because of this error. My advice: dont do business with this particular store. I cant say anything else about other Ashley locations.

My wife and I were considering purchasing a furniture set from here. We were interested in making monthly payments rather than paying it all upfront. The man helping us said we could check to see if wed be approved. We are in the process of carefully building up our credit so we asked the salesman if checking would damage our credit. He explained that it was a soft credit check and it would simply show if wed be approved or not. We were relieved knowing that our credit wouldnt be hurt. So we checked and it said wed be approved and we ended up not getting furniture in order to see what our other options were. I was notified not long after that my credit score went down 40 points. Apparently what he called "checking to see if wed be approved" was actually signing us up for a credit card. I cancelled the credit card which hurt our credit even more. I went back to Ashley furniture to see what could be done. They simply said sorry and gave me a number to call to see what I could do. What happened will leave a lasting effect on our credit which is so unfortunate and frustrating. We were hoping theyd be a little more helpful in repairing what happened.

They dont have any inventory on-site, which is fine except they cant order anything for you and have it delivered to the store. Your only option while ordering is $150 home delivery or picking your furniture up in West Valley. The $150 delivery includes setting up, but many items dont actually require setup, but the same fee is applied. They also wouldnt price match. Found the same thing from a store in Lehi, who would deliver it to me in Provo for $39 vs $150. The sales clerk explained that they are a show room and not concerned about how your furniture is delivered to you. Really?! Super disappointed, as we love the style of Ashley Furniture but its easier and cheaper to use them as the showroom they want to be and order elsewhere.

This was a terrible experience! Worst furniture store I have dealt with. On line they say they will accept returns for 30 days but apparently each store can set their own policy and they would not take furniture back even though I was buying another piece. Delivery people said they would not deliver a small sofa because they could not get it in the elevator and they would only go up 3 flights of stairs, we were on the 4th floor. The delivery people made a mess in the hall and did not clean it up when they left. Store manager was of no help and didnt give a darn about taking care of a customer. Go to RC Wiley instead, much more friendly policies and dont charge exorbitant delivery fees!
