I feel a little bad giving a bad review when I didnt even purchase anything from them, but I feel like if I would have known then what I know now, I wouldnt have even walked in the door. I found a stone that I was 99% sure was a diamond while I was hiking. I took it in to them to have someone confirm that it was actually a diamond and not something else. When I walked in, there were a handful of people some helping other customers, some not. It took about 5 mins of me standing at the counter looking around before anyone even said hello or asked if they could help. Once someone finally said hello and I told them why I was there, I immediately felt like I was bothering them. I waited about 20 mins for the lady to finish up what she was doing and come back to help me. She took the stone and put it under the scope and looked at it for a few minutes not saying anything. Then she looked up at me, handed the stone back and said "Its a white sapphire." Thats better than an answer like "its glass" or "its CZ", so I took her word and thanked her and left. As I was pulling out of the parking lot I thought to myself "Since I didnt have a great feeling about my visit, there are several other jewelers on this street and since Im out anyway, Im going to go get a 2nd opinion". I took the stone across the street to Morgan Jewelers and they confirmed it was a diamond. I then took it to Shane Co and they also confirmed it was a diamond. I got it appraised by a jeweler and ended up selling it for $1500. The lack of customer service and knowledge of what a diamond is and isnt definitely put me off. I wont be going back to them for anything.

The location in Murray Utah is absolutely awful. The sales associates are very forceful and misleading. I bought my fiancés engagement ring there and found out I paid about 5 thousand dollars to much for it, the service department mangled the prongs when they set the diamond and good luck ever trying to return a ring or other jewelry. We had such a bad experience there we ended up buying a different diamond from a more reputable jeweler, when we tried to return the ring within our 30 day guideline they told us our warranty had been voided from opening and closing the prongs (which was never part of the original ring, the crown was purchased separately). The employes and manager lied to us about a bogus return policy and we read the legal disclaimer, warranty information and bill of sale and found nothing about there rediculous claim. We caught them in there lie and the corporate offices ended up agreeing to reimburse us and let us return the ring. Buying an engagement ring should be a happy experience and buying it from Jared is great way to ruin that experience. Ive also purchased many other pieces there And they have no record of it, very suspicious. when I have utilized there warranty policy I have had equally as bad of experiences, a diamond fell out of a ring I had previously purchased and they replaced it with a very poor quality grey colored diamond and seemed irratated when we complained. Basically they are rude, highly disorganized con artists. Buy elsewhere, I would rate them in the negative star range of I could

I have had a very positive experience at Jared. I went in for a specific ring that I could only find at Jared (at least in my area), and the salesperson showed me the ring, but also brought out similar rings that were not designer, to save me money. I thought that was great. I ended up returning several times and eventually ended up with a different ring that I had originally wanted (I didnt like it as much once I saw it in person). I ended up working with three different salespeople, and they all were helpful as I picked out a diamond that would be perfect. I never felt any pressure and they really went out of their way to find me one that I loved AND save me some money at the same time. I have been back several times-- I switched out the stone after a few days, ordered in a new size ring, had the new ring re-sized-- all in the space of a couple of months. They have never charged me extra and have been more than happy to help. Im very wary of big jewelry chains, and I was actually very surprised at how attentive they have been and at the final price that I paid for my ring. My ONLY complaint-- all three salespeople told me over and over that I could trade my diamond in, in the future for a credit of my actual cost, if I want to upgrade. Once I purchased the ring, I came home and read the fine print. The new stone has to be DOUBLE in value for them to do this. I wasnt thrilled with that news, since I will never spend double what I did on this diamond. Other than that, my experience was fabulous.

Biggest mistake and headache of my life! My fiance and I have been going in to look for about 5 months now. I had narrowed in on a ring here and one at Shane Co. Each time we went in, we were not treated like we were important. One time we waited a 1/2 hour before someone got to us, and another time they helped someone who came in after us. I decided I liked the ring here best and we went for it. They diamond the manager had brought in for us was not impressive at all and she said that it was a good deal and it would be hard to find better. After dealing with this manager and her lack of customer service on a few occasions, we asked for someone else to help us and got the general manager. He helped us and smoothed things over and found a beautiful diamond, so we bought it. The ring was promised to be ready on a certain date and when we called they had barely started working on it and said it wouldnt be done until the next week. What is the stupid promise date for then? You promise you will start working on it on that day? Needless to say, I am still ringless, and havent heard when it will be done. And of course they dont offer any compensation, just sorries. I am sick of sorry... DO SOMETHING! Totally wish I went to SHANE CO., they have AWESOME customer service!

I loved working with Austin in the Orem, Utah store. Their sales tactic is to have one person help you and then another comes over when you show great interest. This other guy introduced himself as a certified gemologist and kind of took over. We had been so happy with Austin and didnt want this other guy butting in who seemed to be so full of himself. We pulled Austin aside and told him we just wanted to deal with him and the "certified gemologist" really took offense saying things later like "Oh, am I invited over now?" Because were in the process of selling and buying another home, we wanted a simple band for now and plan to buy the big rock when things are done. When we went in for the band, the "certified gemologist" said, "Hmm, only a band?" so condescendingly, like it was nothing hed ever touch. If Austin wasnt such a great salesguy, we would have walked away right then. Jared - get more humble, down to earth, non-pompous sales guys and you will double your business. Fire your arrogant, young, cocky certified gemologist and send him packing back to the used car lot where he came from. Absolutely love the ring and cant wait for that flawless huge diamond soon! Well probably wait until Austin is working and Mr. All-That isnt so the ambiance is better.
