Beautiful Dresses, "D" in Customer Service I know most people walk away from the Perfect Dress happy, but I did not have a pleasant experience purchasing my wedding dress here. Be warned: The Perfect Dress is quite skilled at flattering their customers into buying one of their beautiful dresses, but they deserve a D in customer service. After theyd ordered the wrong size, tried to blame me for the mistake, recommended a seamstress who made serious mistakes and didnt complete the dress when promised, I ultimately walked out with a dress I was happy with, but only days before my wedding and with great frustration. I ordered the Peony dress several months before my wedding and paid extra to have it rushed. It arrived on time, but it didnt fit right- it was extremely tight and didnt look like the sample Id tried on. The assistants assured me the dress would be perfect after alterations with the external seamstress theyd recommended, and they sent me on my way-- with the ill-fitted, wrinkly, wrong-looking dress. Id never bought a wedding dress before and had no choice at that point but to trust them- the dress was already paid for. When I took the dress to the seamstress she confirmed what I feared- the dress was too tight and she wouldnt be able to alter it-- there wasnt enough seam allowance. Trying to stay calm, I raced back to the Perfect Dress to see what they could do (this was after leaving work early and driving an hour in traffic to alterations). Fortunately they had an extra of the same dress in stock- only two sizes larger- and were "willing" to swap for my ill-fitted dress. Im a slim girl and hadnt gained weight in the 6 weeks since my fitting- it was clear I was measured improperly when the dress was ordered. The manager of the store was completely unapologetic for the inconvenience, acted like I should be EXTREMELY grateful they were able to provide a dress that fit better, and even tried to blame me for ordering the wrong size ("Well you signed for that size…"). Never mind her employee took the measurements and told me my size, never mind my complete unfamiliarity with their sizing, and never mind they sent me home with an ill-fitting dress after it was clear there had been a mistake. Because the swapped dress two sizes larger was STILL slightly too small and required some changes to the neckline, they reassigned me a different alterations seamstress who the shop recommends and brings into their shop on a weekly basis. This was an absolutely TERRIBLE experience. First, the alterations were not done when promised the next week (some alterations hadnt even been started), and when I returned the week following for the completed dress theyd cut a very visibly crooked neckline (could have been with their eyes closed). No apology, just "okay, come back next week." So after ANOTHER week (so much for paying for that rushed shipping, eh?), I arrived at the shop to pick up the dress but had forgotten my checkbook. Fully intending to pay, I arranged to pay the seamstress by mail so I could go finally take the dress home, but the manager of Perfect Dress butted in and wouldnt allow me to leave the store with my dress without payment for alterations. After a short dispute, I drove home, AGAIN, and returned to the store for the umpteenth time to pay the alterations seamstress and take my dress. I was not happy. I understand the need to ensure payment and enforce policy, but at this point, youd think there would be some desire to work with a dissatisfied customer. Nope. There was zero effort on the part of the manager to help me leave a happy customer. In fact, she wasnt even around when I returned to pay the seamstress and finally take my dress home. I wont be recommending the Perfect Dress to any friends, and my mom certainly wont be bringing my three younger sisters back to this shop. The assistants are sweet and flattering, the dresses pretty, but my experience overall was completely frustrating, and not something I would want anyone to have to repeat.

To start off I LOVED my dress. I too, like the other reviewer, received a comment about how I couldnt gain any weight, trust me thats NO brides intention, we gain from stress if anything, but I brushed it off as a fair warning which Im sure it was, my dress fit perfectly and even had to be brought in. I made an appointment with one of their recommended alteration ladies that they send their business to upon buying my dress, I got a hold of her that week on my own. I tossed her card out of frustration later but I believe it was "Sherries Alterations" and I could not find any business listing information for her which is suspicious. I had my dress for about a month and showed up to my appointment with Sherrie at The Perfect Dress and she wasnt there. Jackie called her and handed me the phone. She full on accused me of "making up the appointment in my head" because her husband had surgery and she was leaving town and never had my appointment written down. Let me get this clear, I made up talking to her AND made up a time and a date? I work in the wedding industry, and my wedding made me loose faith in it. Brides constantly need to add things, subtract things, and they need things done yesterday. Sherrie is in the wrong business and shouldnt be endorsed or recommended by The Perfect Dress. Jackie pointed me towards another alterations lady and I had to make a 5 hour drive back to Salt Lake the day before my wedding to pick up my dress. But she had it done, and charged me a pretty penny for bringing it in on the waist, and thats all but she came through! I didnt want a fancy dress or the hassle, Im a student that paid for my wedding by myself and my priorities were the photography, I just didnt want to look back at the pictures and think I could have done a better job with my dress, I got something I knew I wouldnt regret, no matter the price. Dress shopping before that was extremely stressful, and the perfect dress were very easy to work with and I immediately calmed down and relaxed. I think theyre prices were fair, my dress held up nicely through everything, and Im keeping it because its so different and so beautiful and I for a tom boy, I grew very attached to it. I JUST WISH THEY HAD IN HOUSE ALTERATIONS!

I could go on all day about how fantastic this bridal boutique is. First things first, it certainly lived up to its name--with Jackies help, I found the perfect dress. I had been discouraged after looking at other stores in Utah and finding that everything was either the same (and boring) or cost thousands and thousands of dollars. The Perfect Dress has an incredible selection of unique and beautiful dresses, and theyre priced in a budget thats actually reasonable! I couldnt believe it--after convincing myself that the only way Id ever find a dress I liked was if I had somebody design and sew it from scratch, The Perfect Dress actually had multiple options that I would have been completely thrilled to wear on my wedding day. But obviously, when it comes to wedding dress shopping, there is more that matters than just the actual dress. Well, this store could also be called The Perfect Experience. From the moment I walked in, I felt important, taken care of, and like everyone who was helping me was an expert. Jackie, the store manager, was the opposite of pushy and domineering. She was patient with me, let me try on as many dresses as I wanted (including switching back and forth and back and forth and back and forth between a few), and was completely honest with her opinions, not taking what would be the biggest sale into consideration. She made me feel at ease and like this shopping experience was already a celebration. Though Jackie was the one specifically helping me, the other associates working in the store were incredible professional, helpful, and friendly as well. No matter where in Utah you live, it is worth the trip to The Perfect Dress. I cant recommend it enough!
