My wife and I, just like many others, came across some hard financial times. We went to First American Pawn to get a loan so we could take care of some delinquent bills. We traded some jewelry, which included my wifes wedding set, for a small loan. Last week we went to the shop to try and make an arrangement to pay off the loan, as we had come into a little extra money that we would be getting the following week. When we went into the shop, we happened to be a couple days late on a payment, so the owner had pulled the jewelry already. We explained that we would be able to pay the loan off the next week, we just wanted to make a partial payment that day and pay the balance the next week. The guy working said he would call the owner to explain our situation and would call us back. Of course we never got a return call. Hoping that the owner was informed and understood our situation, we went back into the shop a week later, as promised, to pay off the loan and get the jewelry back. Nope! The owner auctioned all the jewelry off already, according to the store worker, and the jewelry wasnt in the shop anymore. Needless to say, my wife was more than just a little upset. So the guy working the store contacted the owner. Now, they miraculously know where the jewelry is and the owner is so generous that hes willing to sell the wedding set back to us for double the amount of the loan, which was borrowed on a Tiffany & Co ring, and a set of diamond earrings, as well as the wedding set. Now, I completely understand that when you take a loan you agree to certain conditions. But, in most cases, small shop owners are willing to work with their customers. At least in my experience, other small shop owners are willing to work with you...with the exception of this shop. We were only a few days late and we were trying to make arrangements to pay the loan off, instead of dragging things out any longer, which most owners would be happy with. At least, thats been my experience with other shops. One would think that someone could understand that if someone is turning over some really nice jewelry, for a small loan, that they must really be in a tight situation. Especially when it involves a wedding set! Now, you want to them rip them off because they were a few days late on a loan payment. You want to charge someone, who is under hard financial times, double the loan amount for just one piece of the jewelry that was pawned. If that kind of money was readily available, do you really think that a loan wouldve been needed in the first place?!?! So that was my experience. If you are having a tough time with money and need a loan, I wouldnt recommend going to this shop. Unless, of course, you can be absolutely certain that you will never be late on a payment. However, if youre willing to take the chance of missing a payment, or maybe not having the money at the time of the payment, because youre still struggling financially, then by all means take that chance. But dont expect the owner to have a heart when you try make other arrangements for payment, or pay off.

These people take in stolen goods and when you go in to find out if any of your things are in there and you have an idea of who brang it in and you have serial numbers and information about your belongings they always tell you that you have to make a police report. You ask to take pictures of what is there and they tell you that it is not allowed. They will not take things they feel will not sell, for instance I went to take in my digital camera and they told me that it was to old and its only three years old. I had all of my information about what was stolen from me and they said that since I did not have proof it was mine other than a police report and the exact time and date it went missing then there was nothing I could do. I lost my T.V. DVD player, Converter box, all my movies, and pretty much every electronic I owned all because they wanted to say there is a privacy act to protect the person who brang it in.

My friend and I went into this store and I have to say it was by far the worst experience Ive had at a pawn shop. Which is saying a lot. The price on one of the items was more expensive than if new and was all beat up. They offered very little help and were more preoccupied with there own stuff. Will never go back.

One of the shadiest places on the planet. Was quoted 1 price for an item. 15 minutes later, the price jumps heavily. Also, a business that sells products should have some knowledge of what its selling. Never again!
