Ive been in there many times in the 20 years Ive lived in Tyler, and I agree the clerks there are young but all seem to be willing to help. Its a shame though when you have older adults who are supposed to be mature coming in and yelling at a KID because hes in the process of helping other people. Id say the biggest complaint is that they are under staffed at times, not so much that the kids are rude. Every time Ive been in there Ive gotten in and out in less than 20 minutes. Granted I knew exactly what I wanted they are always willing to help. I have noticed in the times Ive been there though that the store manager could use some work in the customer service department, and that may be what some of you are experiencing. Overall though I find the store to be a quality retail store. They seem to have a little something for everyone.

Clothing selection was decent, but I couldnt disregard the blatantly rude customer service. I received a R&J tshirt as a gift, but needed to exchange for a different size. The sales girl behind the counter smacked her gum and just stared at me when I asked if she could get me the shirt in a medium. I then repeated that they only had larges on the table, did they have any mediums in the back? She abruptly replied "No" and continued to chomp her gum and stare vacantly over my shoulder. Thank goodness I live in Austin and have access to lots of friendly sport shops - I would hate for this to be my local business. They need to get OVER themselves already.

I went into Racquet and Jog looking for a specific brand of shirts. Im a large guy and not many places carry my size but I knew they carried the brand. A very nice young lady helped me. I told her what I needed and she took me right over to where they kept that brand. Alas they didnt have my size. She told me they would call the vendor and see if my size was available. It was after hours so they said theyd have to call me the next day. By 9am the next day they said they had it ordered. 2 days later they called and told me it was in. First class customer service. Ill be a customer for life!

If I could give a lower rating I would. I was watched from the time I entered into the store until till I left. At the time I really felt as tho it was because I was black, they spoke to every white person besides me, they just all stared literally until I walked out. I felt very uncomfortable and I couldnt even shop so I just hurried and bought something then left. But by reading some of the comments I see that theyre just like that. I would never go back into this store & its sad because I love their shirts and toms. Thank God I can order online..

I tend to stop here because I hate to shop at a chain or online without at least trying to shop at a local business. But the customer service is so bad that I absolutely always regret it. The only thing worse than the teenage staff ignoring you is when the owner is there and he ignores you. There isnt a thing in that store that you cant get cheaper online and have it delivered by the next day. Clearly they dont think they need your business.

This store has an impressive inventory. On our last visit, we were greeted immediately by friendly salespeople and that service continued through checkout. R&J has unique clothing and accessories that you will not find anywhere else in East Texas, including Howler Brothers and Salt Life products. The only issue with the Tyler location is that, because they have so many items, it is difficult to walk through the store because it is crowded.

Tylers R&J is hit and miss with service. Once they were awesome, but the next time I went in (exactly one week later) I was ignored in favor of eating in the back room (you can see into the store room from the shoe section) and talking at the check-out. You arent going to find some of the things that they carry anywhere else so I do go there, but I dont buy anything at R&J Tyler that I could get somewhere else in town.

Having had a couple of so-so experiences here before, I was a little hesitant to shop here today. We were trying to find shoes to accommodate a leg brace. The selection of brands brought us in but a sales guy (Cesar) made the experience great. He was knowledgeable about brands and fit, very helpful and extremely patient. A+ customer service!

Best running store in Tyler, hands down. If you are looking to get fitted for a running shoe that will fit your form, they can set you up. Myles is the man, and so is Graham. Show up on Wednesday evenings for the running club! They go to the bar right behind the store afterwards. If you want to be a true Tyler-ite, buy a R&J shirt

Very nice and trendy, but if youre not obsessed with being trendy you can pass on this store. Most overpriced place Ive ever seen (I found items priced higher than the marked MSRP). Its nice enough to earn a 5 star rating but the prices are absurd. Additionally the employees werent super concerned.

I have gotten really good service the last few times I have been in, maybe I got lucky with the two people who helped me. Sometimes you do actually have to ask "can you help me" but like I said, its been good recently. I like shopping there, good selection of shoes, clothes..unique items.

a very crowded store very difficult to look through sections since theyre so compact and stocked however that does mean they have a large variety of products so yeah also really not for the budget minded
