We ordered our wedding cake through the Exclusive Cake Shop in San Antonio. My cousin paid for our cake as a wedding gift. I originally ordered my cake through Terrace Cakes but was unable to have it done through her due to her pregnancy (she was set to deliver the month of our wedding). I took a photo of the cake I had ordered with her and asked them to replicate it. I have posted photos of the cake that we received and will gladly share them and any reviews with any bride or couple that is interested in ordering a cake The Exclusive Cake shop. They dont look horrible, but it just wasnt the quality of work that I had originally hoped for. I had requested fondant icing (because that what was on the cake I ordered through the other vendor) and they said it would be an up charge of nearly $500 and that the butter cream icing tasted better and would be smooth. It was smooth but if you look at their grand cakes online, the majority of them use fondant They have beautiful cakes on their website but I was not impressed with ours. They didnt even have a stand for our cake. For paying over $1000, I would think that they would ask you if you would like a stand to display your wedding cake. We would have gladly paid for a rental stand or bought one before hand if we had thought they wouldnt have provided one. A week before the wedding, I received a call from their business inquiring about the flavors in our cakes- these were already chosen in the contract and I listed the flavors for them. They called again and said those flavors would be an upcharge. I was very upset as I had a lot of other things going on and I was prepping for our wedding. I told them I would not pay an upcharge and would pay the quoted price in our contract. They then called me to say that it was a mistake or misunderstanding. The cake tasted great- Ill give them that but when I ordered a four tiered wedding cake to serve 200, I didnt expect it to look so small. Be prepared to save all your paperwork and ensure that you have time to ask them all these questions. I would be very weary when choosing them for an occasion such as a wedding.

Okay, to the bride who commented below me..I am AMAZED! Why? Because the same exact thing happened to me when my fiance, his mom, and my dad, went to do our "tasting" yesterday! I didnt catch the girls name but I am assuming it is the same person because it happened on consecutive days, your tasting and mine. She was so damn rude. The girl, whom Im assuming is a teenager, was rude to me as well when we walked in. First of all, when I showed her photos of what I wanted to do for a cake she looked at me, then my ideas and said: "You know those are extravagant, right?" WELL DUH??? She basically said it in such a condescending tone that made me feel like she was implying I couldnt afford it. Not the case. I expect to spend about 600+ on my cake and I expect to be treated at least like my money is worth something. Not only that but we are going to be featured in a bridal magazine so you would think they would at least be nice to get our business. Also, because I didnt have a damn drawing to basically do the designers job, she was short and impatient with me. From THE MOMENT we sat down, it was as if she wanted to rush us out of there or as if she didnt want to be there herself. Her tone of voice was apathetic and her comments short. What really set me off was the fact that when I showed her the art work for our save-the-dates that I wanted as one of the possible options for the cake design to be based on, she said she would take it to show to one of the designers(ONLY after I asked her to get him) and you could hear her cackling behind the curtain. Her overall attitude was horrible, to say the least. When we were leaving my fiance could see her getting chewed out through the window and the man offered us 10% off if we did our cakes with them. WHATEVER. I dont care how nice your cakes look I will not put my money somewhere stupid enough to employ someone like that to "consult" with customers. Besides, their cakes were okay and the samples we were given were dry and generic flavors. Dont go here if you want a teenager to treat you like crap or like you are beneath them.

We used The Exclusive Cake Shop for my parents 50th wedding anniversary party. BIG MISTAKE!!!! The cake itself looked fine except for the bubble on the top layer and the missing frosting also on the top layer. These however are not my main issue with Laura. In transporting the cake the top layer slid straight off taking the pictures and backside of the cake with it. Now, I know the easy response is to say "Reckless driving" which is all Laura said about why the top had slid off. However, I was the one driving the car the cake was in and I can assure you there was no abnormal driving conditions. Rather, I believe the amount of filling on the top layer and the fact that it was not secured in any way caused it to slide straight off. When I went to talk with Laura about it all she did was make excuses and point the finger at me and the my mother-n-law who picked the cake up. I was not looking for anything more than an apology and an understanding as to why this may have happened. But, from the minute I mentioned what had happened Laura became defensive and insistant that there was nothing that she could have done wrong or differently. She continously told me that she is not responsible for the cake once it leaves her shop and that I should have driven better. NOW THAT IS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WILL NEVER BUY FROM HER AGAIN AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE I KNOW TO AVOID HER SHOP.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! Their cakes are not only the most delicious cakes Ive ever tasted but they also look amazing. They executed our idea to our exact detail. My husband and I placed an order for the cake literally the week OF our sons b-day party and we were so worried we wouldnt find a place to take our last minute order. No other place did but Im so glad they didnt because we ended up here. We had a Super Mario themed cake and wanted some super mario figurines on the cake. Laura gave us a suggestion on where we could buy them. As soon as we left the cake shop, we went and bought them. I called Laura back to ask her if we could take them to her (being that they were about to close their shop in 5 minutes) and she said yes. She waited for us until we got there. (We didnt want to take them some other day because we dont live by the area. We appreciated that she was willing to wait for us.) Some people say this place is a little pricey, but I feel you pay to get a beautifully crafted cake with artistic details that not only looks stunning but taste incredible. I feel you get what you pay for and our cake was worth every penny. As long as this place is in business, we will always order our cakes here. Thank you Laura for all your help & patience!
