Horrible Customer Service Experience I dropped by Stein Mart after work to check out the clearance items. I do this occasionally on Tuesday evening to fill time after work before a 6:30 meeting. Normally my experience with Stein Mart is very pleasant but not tonight. I had completed my shopping with only a few items. I was standing at the front of the line waiting to check out. The store was not busy at all but the two cashiers were both dealing with returns and problem customers. One of the cashiers called for backup cashiers and after a few minutes help arrived. I proceeded to the open cashier as I was next in line. The manager stepped in and told that cashier that she did not want her on the register and to go back to the ladies department because there were only two people over there. Finally another lady arrived to cashier but went to the opposite side of which I was waiting. She took the next person in line while I was standing at the desk where the other cashier left me after being sent away by her manager. No one said anything about the fact they had just completely ignored me. The manager just stood there unwilling to help at all even though she could see I was waiting and the line was growing and her two original cashiers were STILL dealing with the same two people. After a minute or two of flat being ignored I just walked out. The thing that upset me the most is the manager who was over there just standing there watching everything and everyone, barking off orders to someone who was more than willing to help but the manager would not step in and run a register to get the line moving. In my opinion they need to send her back to customer service training because she hasnt a clue how to manage people and give good customer service. Interestingly enough none of the employees had a smile on their face. I wonder if that had anything to do with the manager on duty.

I thought I made a purchase for a cute pair of pants but when I got home they were not there. I called the store and the store managers went through several hours of sales records to see if I had made the purchase and just left a bag. They went above and beyond to help me solve my mystery and even went through video footage (which took a lot of their time). They called me back several times to make sure they got the right day and times and to keep me updated on their progress. As it turned out I didnt buy the pants, I only thought I did. I found my receipt to confirm what the managers found. They worked diligently to give excellent customer service. Many thanks for their tenacity!

Are you looking for a great deal? I think there are many great deals to be had here. I think their best prices are on their linens. They sell clothes for the whole family. I always feel a little confused, is this store like Marshalls? I cant quite tell. Some of that they sell is a little off brand, and some of the perfume you will find in a drug store. I dont quite get what they are. All I know, is that on some items you can get for great prices here.

Steinmart offers the latest in fashion and brand names for women! I could purchase everything that is offered and be happy. Excellent formal wear, work wear and casual wear Steinmart never disappoints! Consistently brings in New merchandise! Their rewards and credit card discounts definitely intices. In addition, Steinmart offers shoes, housewares and a good line of mens wear!

Great for mens deals, shoes, and housewares. Womens clothing tend to be more elderly here. Jewelry is mostly chunky.
