I probably bugged the salesman for a year ,came into this store about 20 times before I purchased a sleeping bag . I had my mind set on a North Face, Marmont, Kelty or some other brand name I had researched. The salesman recommended a incredibly light 1lbs bag from a small company I had never heard of. WESTERN MOUNTAINEERING ..I took a 250 dollar chance that the guy knew what he was talking about, well he did know and it turned out to be best decision I ever made. Thank you WEPC and WM. I always try to shop at business locally/ TEXAS ..... Austins North Lamar store or the UT campus store is close and (original) .....

I have been a fan of this store for several years and have spent a lot of money in it. I had an experience that I want to share in buying sale merchandise. I bought a shirt on sale for around $50 that I was "on the fence" about, but purchased it along with several other items. When I returned it the next day, they would not credit my credit card back. Their policy is that if you buy it on sale, you can only receive store credit back. Based on them offering high end merchandise I felt this was not a good way to treat customers.

I love this place! They sell the neatest stuff ever. You have to go there to see it to know what Im talking about. Its a great place to buy some gifts, or just some fun things for yourself. Also have a great selection of outdoor clothing and equipment. Was looking for a pair of good hiking shoes, and the employees were helpful and great at finding exactly what I wanted.

This store is way underrated. I did all my Christmas shopping there yesterday for less than $100, from my infant nephew to my 65 year-old dad. Flip-flops, kids puzzles, dog toys, weird gadgets & cute shirts for me. And more than enough friendly staff to help all the last-minute shoppers.

Kinda pricey. Who am I kidding, its very pricey, but hey, this isnt Academy. They run some pretty sweet sales though. Look in the springtime for winter gear, itll be discounted (Huge markdowns). Very cool place. Worth a pop in before you go to Trader Joes. cheers. -AX-

A very nice speciality shop. Emailed and asked for a specific type of shoe and size, which they had transferred to the Shepherd shop just because I was unsure of sizing! Packed with a variety of goods for any kind of need. Highly recommended!
