This is the scariest walmart. Just dont. Ive been here dozens of times, and the complaints are numerous. Trash-filled parking lot was always my first impression, frequently with more discarded shopping carts than cars, broken booze bottles, and at least one thing buzzing with flies - like a stack of soiled diapers. I made the mistake of pulling in here with a battery problem to get a replacement. I spent half an hour escalating through staff trying to get my core charge for returning the old battery - pulling up state law on my phone and having managers regard me like some kind of alien. I finally got someone that said Id need to go to customer service when they were open to get the core charge refunded since nobody present knew how. I came in, and there was a >1hour line to get to customer service from people cashing paychecks. I came in to get groceries once, and found they didnt have a refrigerated section as I knew it. What they had was a single row of beer fridges in the middle of the clothing aisles, with about two yards worth of milk, eggs, and processed cheese stuffed on one end. They moved some of the pharmacy aisles during a big reshuffling of the store, and exposed the area underneath. AFAICT, there was a black, tacky, flakey, mottled substance coating half of the walkable floor in the pharmacy for months. This was on top of the floor, it wasnt underlayment. Part of the toy section shared shelving with pesticides at one point, and the pricing and labeling on the shelves is rarely anywhere near the corresponding items. The self check-out is frequently closed, and staff often opts to just stand near a register with the light off, and state that theyre closing out when approached. Theres frequently only one cashier operating at the front of a very long line. Theres an old man thatll work as a security officer overlooking the parking lot sometimes, and that guy is always yelling at some kid and then getting mad at passer-by for observing. There always seems to be some sort of renovation going on, but the place is never near clean or functional. Sometimes, the aisles are compacted in ways that make them hard to navigate with a cart without knocking things off pegs. And thats not the half of it, just stuff that sticks out. Go to the Kroger, Foodarama, or the Randalls nearby for groceries, go to the Walmart on S Rice if you must go to a Walmart. Let this place die.

Goodness gracious. I have lived over in the Bellaire area for about 30 years. I used to go to his Walmart until about 7 years ago, but I still go over to this Walmart to get some things that I cant find at my regular places that I shop for groceries at. But I refuse to go there again. I dont know who the hiring manager is at this place, but his/her mission must be to hire the people that could decrease the already-terrible customer service. So to the reasons why I hate this place: I went there today to return something that I ordered online. I wait in the extremely long line (only two people working at the counter) and then a manager tells me and the other people returning items to go to register 2 (not at the customer service desk but in the checkout area) to return my item. I asked her if they would be able to process a return for my online order and she said yes. I leave my position at the front of the line and go to the second register. The Walmart employee working the register (not a manager) tells me that she cant process returns for online orders and that they can only do that at the customer service desk. I dont blame the Walmart employee working at the second register, but I blame the MANAGER (who confirmed with me that I could return my online order at the second register) for not being familiar with the return process. I wasnt escorted to the front of the customer service line due to their error. But the reasons why I stopped coming to this about 5 years ago are that all the shelves are so disorganized, some of the staff can hardly speak English, the store is just so busy (occupied with so many kids running around), they dont staff customer service enough, they dont accept Apple Pay, and they just dont care about customer service. They dont categorize their items very well so its difficult to find a specific item that you want because theres so many different aisles that your item could be in. So I dont really blame the workers for not being able to tell you where you need to go because there are so many different places that it could be at. This Walmart has gone down hill and they need to get some new managers and new approach to customer service.

This is literally a dangerous place to shop. A few weeks ago I was in the store for a few minutes, was bothering no one, but I must have been doing something to attract attention because I was approached by one of the guards (I later found out his name was "Officer Jerad") and he basically accused me of PLANNING ARMED ROBBERY! He told me that there had been a lot of robberies in the area and I was a "suspicious person". He asked me for my ID and where I was from. When I told him I was from Kanab, Utah, he started asking me questions about the geography of Utah. When I couldnt answer a question he practically went ballistic and went to the manager to lobby to get me thrown out. At one point I found myself being asked to stand in a corner like a terrorist. I was thrown out and basically treated like dirt. The event left me so shaken that I didnt get any sleep that night and consequently my work suffered the following day. When I finally regained my wits a few days later, I went back to complain but found out that the manager was on vacation (big surprise). I did get a phone call a week later from someone who said they were sorry for the incident but offered me little solace beyond that. The whole experience has left me heart-broken since I was a loyal customer of this store and it was convenient to shop there since it was across the street from my apartment. But I will now travel further distances to go to their competitors. Even if I wanted to, I cant shop in this store out of fear that the guards will arrest me on the spot. I was so excited when I moved into my apartment because there was a Walmart right across the street. Now I cant wait to move away.
