Ive bought from here several times. The owner is a very rude man, both to his customers and to his employees--I have seen outbursts on two separate occasions of him yelling/berating one of his employees with a store full of customers, which makes me wonder how he treats them when the customers are gone. He has several "bounced" checks blown up to poster size on the wall from five years ago, and makes sure to write in big letters the persons name who wrote a bad check. I feel sorry for these people because your bank makes you settle up the debt on a bad check quickly (hey, and we all make mistakes once in a while), and chances are that their name is still being slandered years later. The owner also bad-mouths people to his customers, or so Ive found out through other friends in law enforcement. Makes you wonder what he tells the employers who contract with him. The prices are low, and what you buy seems like a good deal, but a lot of the companies who "contract" with this man send their used uniforms back when an employee quits (postal service, security, EMS), and hell re-label them and sell them as new. The alterations and patches for officers wearing class A style uniform shirts are extra, in addition to the shirt, which usually means an $18 shirt ends up costing about $8 extra after the "sew on" fee and the cost of the patches. Go around the corner to Westpark and Westhomme, and their shirts are $20, all alterations included, and are permanent press polyester (much better material). Look up AJ Outfitters--both of the guys who own the shop used to work at Discount Uniforms. If you work for a company that "forces" you to get your uniforms here, then make sure you only get what the company pays for. Get the patch from your employer and go somewhere else to buy uniform supplies for cheaper. Even if you end up paying more, why give your business to someone who obviously cares nothing about the impression he gives to his customers or his employees? The only thing worth buying here are the boots--I found the same $110 boots for $75 here, but then I wondered if saving the extra money would really be worth giving this guy my business. Id stay away from this place. It looks tempting, but chances are, youre just supporting a bad cause and a badly run business.

***PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW*** Absolutely rude. Sold me cell phone carrier for my duty belt that the cheap glue used to put it together was falling apart. Wouldnt stand behind the sale or their product just tried to sell me the exact same thing. I needed a vest so I went to them and tried bring a new bulletsafe vest that was too big to them. BEN said they dont fool with "that brand" and made me feel bad for even having something that low of a quality and pushed his expensive vest on me. A week or so latet they started carrying bulletsafe vest and now BEN sings their praises! When I tried talking to the owner William about how BEN treated me, he didnt want to hear it and acted like he could care less. I still gave them my business and went back to buy a small vest. At BENS suggestion, he sold me a vest after being "kind" to me and taking TWO vests AND cash in on trade. I bring it back because BEN sold me a vest still too big. Instead of taking care of their customer, BEN shifts the blame to Cop Stop and their vest carrier being my issue not the fact he sold me a vest too big. I am fed up with these people and what did William say to his customer who was upset and said they wont spend another dime in there? "Youre a pain in my ass dont ever come back here" Very unprofessional Dont trust BENS opinion Low quality products Owner doesnt value his customers Its all about the money NOT about the officer. I found myself at Lawman. Good people who flat out told me the vest DISCOUNT(BEN) sold me was too big. Discount has my money and refuses to exchange or give me my money back (HUGE RED FLAG) I decided to bite the bullet and get measured for a custom made vest and the best part is LAWMAN has layaway! I also found good merchandise at better prices. My advice is learn from my mistakes and dont put yourself through all the hell and most importantly wasted money I went through with this poor excuse of a business. Find another uniform store that values its customers. You dont have to go to Lawman per say but there are plenty of other places that dont treat officers like garbage!

RUDE and RACIST OWNER! Just do not go to this place. He stereotyped me. He has not respect for customers. He yelled at me saying bad things about church me and my mates came from. Houston is the multi-cultural city and people of different ethnicity are inhabitants over here. we do appreciate our differences respectfully but i feel sorry we still have such xenophobic business owners. I understand it took me and my wife little longer than usual to find our uniform with correct sizes. I was surprised the owner came to us and said why you wasting our time and he started to yell about church we came from. He partially started to curse us and people who came before us to this store. He had harsh feelings. Regardless of his disrespectful behavior i tried to make him understand that there is a communication barrier between me and his employees who do not understand or speak English. I said him we have already bought two shirts and few accessories and our time is important too. We were just trying to find correct pant size for my wife. He not only cursed our community but forced us to leave the store. OMG who does that knowing that specific customer already gave you business! I was not mad if your employees do not speak english but i was mad at your hatred for ethnicity. I have ask our community to stop sending people at this store because you dont deserve business.

I have been coming here for years, everyone is always so helpful. I purchased a pair of boots in January and by March they started falling apart. I contacted Bates and they sent me a return form to send them back. Today I went in to the store to buy another pair of boots. The owner was there (always very nice) and asked me if he could help me. I said yes that I needed a new pair of boots. He looked at me and said "I thought you just got new boots not to long ago?" I told him what had happened and I showed him the boots. I told him that Bates told me to send them back (I hadnt yet) and they would exchange them. The owner looked at the boots and said ," Go and pick out what you want and Ill take care of it for you." NOW I dont know if anyone is aware but usually on boots all sales are final. I was not expecting this kind of treatment but let me tell you something, these people are as good as gold I have always been treated kindly here. So for all the bad reviews people have left maybe if you were a little nicer , instead of acting snotty, maybe people would be nice back.

Great prices but very, very, very, very rude manager and staff. Very rude manager!!!!!! Manager will talk down to you and if you ask him whats his problem he will say it doesnt matter he knows the police chief. True statement he has done it to several people I know from other security companies. But he know that he has the lowest prices so it doesnt matter to him because he has almost all of houston business when it comes to uniforms. Two Hispanic employees talked about him the whole time they were fitting me and my co-worker, how they are under paid and illegals.
