Dont bother calling. I called 2 separate phone numbers for The Family Place, both people I spoke with were idiots. I am 44 years old man. I live in Dallas Texas. I am a 3.5 year ongoing victim of domestic abuse and stalking. He has made me a prisoner in my own home, constant harassment, intimidation, threats. As a victim, I began documenting in February 2012. As a victim, I began asking for court-ordered protection from the Dallas Police Department in March 2013. Because of his violent nature I’m at his mercy. I’ve gotten 2 separate “criminal trespassing” The very next morning he was here harassing me. The Dallas Police Department have refused to arrest him. I have sustained nearly $15,000 in property damage and theft from my abuser and nothing has been done. I was told that I should call The Family Place to get help because they help men, I dont think thats the case.

A Private User

This place is alway clean, friendly, and well lit. Their items range anywhere from Fine to Excellent condition. However, be prepared to pay more than you might expect at a thrift store. The average price for a dress there seems to be 25.00 (a little high if you are used to Goodwill) but the selection is great and easy to navigate. The staff seems to be all middle aged women, who may or may not greet you, but they are friendly if you attempt to engage them. They have: Furniture, Clothing, Childrens items, Jewelry, Shoes, Books, Purses, Wall art, Dishes and glassware.

This place sucks and is filthy and some loud mouth black girl is always yelling at the top of her lungs and so unprofessional!!! Very over priced but you can go out back to the dumpster and find a lot of free stuff because they throw most of their donations away. Genisis in Oaklawn is much better!!!! The worst management here ever and they do not help load regardless of what you buy!!!

Great little secondhand shop with reasonable prices. I was able to find a solid wood kitchen table. Needs some work, but the overall condition was great. Store clerks were all very approachable and nice.
