I was in there a week ago. The first time was about a year ago. The artist I had last time has left the shop..I cant say I blame the guy. Although a year ago I experienced a rude staff and no greeting at all The artist I had tattoo me whom I am leaving nameless was very sweet. Since he is gone now and I have no clue where his business card is I cant find him..I just went back to the same spot.. Anyway I was greeted by Jeremy. I recognize him from last time. He can be somewhat nice but all he really does (with a smile on his face) is say discrediting things about other artists in the shop he works at and he pressured me to go with his tattooing me. Well I looked through the portfolios..Let me be the one to tell you Jeremy is not the best at AE. He will tell you how so and so isnt qualified to do a certain style or whatever he was saying but in the end his portfolio was one of a few I found to be weak in representation..If he is that good, he should fix his portfolio. Ok, I just wanted to say that guy is not the nice guy he portrays to be and is clearly trying to take business from his piers. I noticed the shop was dead and a couple guys were there, drawing and hanging out..Not a one greeted me..Finally I got a hello from a bigger gentleman from the back. Ive heard great things about this place from others and I have yet to see this big amazing shop I hear about. I mean Ive been treated better in Deep Ellum.. I am simply looking for a professional, custom shop..All Ive gotten at AE is huge egos, crappy attitudes, and too much ghetto hip hop.. Good artists are all over Dallas..But the artists at AE are a bunch of egotistical bad mouthing children. There was an older gentleman there who seemed out of place.. He was nice..I cant remember his name but even he couldnt help me..I say screw it and go visit another of the billion of shops in DFW. This place and the people who work there clearly dont need the business nor care about your time or money..Well maybe they do care about your MONEY. I will not recommend this place to anyone who wants a pleasant tattooing experience.. To top it off the music was way too loud and god awful cursing hood rap!! I have never left a review before..I would otherwise never waste my time..But I am appalled by my experience

Artistic Encounter is the best tattoo shop in the Dallas/Fort Worth area by a long shot. I would recommend this shop to anyone if it is your first or hundredth tattoo. The shop is in immaculate condition in comparison to any other shop, but the thing that makes this place different is the people. If youve ever encountered the owner Billy Jack or his assistant Aly, you know exactly what I mean. The positive nature of this establishment more closely resembles a family doctors office rather than a tattoo shop. On top of that, the talent found here is simply unbeatable. Billy Jacks record obviously speaks for itself, he is a renowned, award winning artist in more fields than just tattoo work. His judgment in regards to the artists he employs reflects this also. Again, I would recommend this shop to anyone. Also note that I am a professional in the legal field, I have been to tattoo shops in Dallas, Lubbock, Fort Worth, Granbury, and Manhattan NY and this shop is the only one that made me feel like I just walked in to my best friends house. I would personally vouch for any one of these artists. Keep it up guys.

I received my very first tattoo with Saga, and she did an amazing job! She was very professional from start to finish. Even though my tattoo did not take very long to do, she checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. The young lady at the front was great, she greeted me immediately when I came in and took care of me, I did not get her name. Dom was very friendly as well, she sat down with me and talked with me about what I was looking for and gave me some great advice. After we spoke about what I wanted, she was going to do my tattoo but suggested Saga take care of me, because she would be better suited for what I was looking for. I appreciated her honesty and professionalism. The store was very clean and made you feel very comfortable. I will definitely be going back to this place!

Helpful people, super clean shop. I popped in just to replace a piece of jewelry I had to take out of an old piercing a couple weeks prior, and needed help choosing one based on some weird needs. I couldnt get the jewelry in myself as Id planned, and the fellow who helped me (dark short hair, mandala on his hand) ended up doing a slight repiercing of the same hole - it had already started closing up, even with my putting straight-post earrings through it - and seemed grateful even accepting just a tip for his help. He gave me easy suggestions on how to help it heal, and didnt try to upsell me on products or anything. Id recommend them just based on how well they treated this low-dollar customer!

Awsome experience.Spoke with Billy Jack the owner who was very professional.Walked in last night with no appointment to get a cover up done on my neck and my girlfriend first time ever tattoo. They were able to start on hers right away but no one was avalable to do mine. All of his artist were busy and it was getting close to closing time.Thats when Billy Jack worked his magic. I ended up getting my tattoo which was a cover up of a tattoo gun done by artist Travis, he nailed it on the money, not to say that we were there way after closing till 2 am we were the last ones there. Thanks for getting it done guys would definitely do business with this tattoo shop again.

Ive been to multiple tattoo studios throughout the country. I can say Artistic Encounter Tattoo is the nicest/cleanest studio hands down. I went with 4 friends all to get tattoos by Alex Arango. All of us have multiple tattoos by very talented artists. Alex is extremely talented with a light hand that blew us all away with our tattoos. While waiting I chatted with the friendly staff and the owner of the studio Billy Jack. My hats off to Billy Jack on what he has done with his studio and the staff of Artistic Encounter Tattoo. The bar is set so high I doubt Ill go anywhere else for my future tattoos. My friends and I already have our next tattoos in mind for Alex.

Dom pierced my nipples. And let me tell you, best experience ever. I was kinda scared because I had previously gotten then done and they were painful, plus added scar tissue made me paranoid. Dom legit calmed me down. The first nipple was painless, the second had a bit of a kick, but nothing unbearable. Even after I blacked out after seeing my friend get her nostril pierce, Dom was there for me. She got me water and ensured I was okay before I left. Couldnt help but laugh. The experience alone was worth the price. #NipTrip

I was referred to this place by my two younger sisters who received amazing work by artist Calvin Xavier III. Im in the process of getting a cover up done and has taken multiple sessions to achieve full coverage. The knowledge that that Calvin possess is astounding not to mention he is totally relatable, funny and can tattoo anything you throw at him.If you want amazing work and a superb artist come to artistic encounter and ask for Calvin!
