For years it has boggled the mind how Austin, an unofficial health capital of Texas could maintain such svelte citizens when a host of cupcakeries, tacoseries, pizzerias and dive bars conspire to undo that morning 3 miler you just worked so hard on. And dont get me started on the more explicit offenders: Gourdoughs, La Boite Café, Tiffs Treats, Casino el Camino, Im glaring at you. This calls for proportion patrol. Granted, neighborhood watch committees have been organized like Whole Foods, Central Market, Casa de Luz, select juice bars and the too-feeble-to-fight (Counter Culture, I applaud you) to battle these so-bad-theyre-good miscreants. But when the few stand against the many, its only a matter of time before someone eats a giant doughnut. Enter Snap Kitchen: Spring has returned in Narnia, and there is new hope for health enthusiasts desperately fighting off those hole-y, syrupy, sweet, juicy, palatable offenders. And its fresh fast food!? Lies. Nein, frauline: this is primarily a curb-side pick-up establishment that offers daily-prepared, proportion-controlled, nutrition-labeled health foods for all. They offer catering, registered dietitian consulting services, and seem absolutely psyched about getting involved in Austins green-living realm. You go girlfriend. Gluten/Dairy-Free Compañero [GDFC] and I checked out their 6th/Lamar location, inhabiting a sliver of shopping center, just behind Amys Ice Cream. Keep walkin, sister. Immaculate establishment indoors. GDFC had their gluten-free meatloaf (which he hadnt been able to eat in years), and I tried their curry chicken salad with greek yogurt and golden raisins, making for a mighty sweet afternoon lunch. And their gluten-free cranberry pancakes I had a week prior? Taste explosion. Bonuses: - Everything in their 6th street store is prepared in their Triangle flagship location on a daily basis, and delivered here on a daily basis. - They are serious about expiration dates, to ensure all the food is as fresh as can possibly be. - Frequent om nomers card is in the makings, earning you points redeemable for good things. Good things are so good. - Their green-living concept is also applied in their 6th street store: utensils are made of *potato*, making them biodegradable. - Microwave available for re-heating whatever you choose. - You could probably use Amys outdoor patio seating if its not occupied and you wanted to enjoy the breezy, sunny weather outside, which wont last for long. So sit outside while you can, before the Central Texas oven bears its wrath. But the smartest idea they utilize, as far as Im concerned, is one of separately organized menus according to your dietary restriction on their website. So, are you a righteous gluten-free, non-dairy, sodium-adverse rocker who likes to rock out? Then dude: you should SO tap their Chocolate Mousse Stuffed Quinoa Crepes.

I found this place via Yelp and was expecting a restaurant when we arrived. Im to blame though for not reading their description thoroughly. Its all pre-made healthy food, which previously Im NOT a fan of. However, Im happy to say I think Ive been converted. I ordered a "carb-conscious" chicken dish and was quite satisfied. It had plenty of unique flavor and filled me up nicely! The food isnt warm when you purchase, but they provide microwaves and utensils. The packaging for the food has the microwave times printed right on them for ease. The service at the downtown location was some of the best Ive ever received. The staff was knowledgeable and even gave me a complimentary brownie to try. All of their food is prepared in a health conscious way; No fried food here!

Used to LOVE snap kitchen on west 6th, was on their commit program for more than 6+ months, loved each meal and would really enjoy the convenience of the meals (work full time and go to coding school part-time) however recently at this specific location something has been up with staff and management/ back-end operations....(high employee turnover rate/training maybe?) but the staff either forget to put my specific pick up date on the logbook (this happened 3 times) and sometimes a handful of times I would pick up my food there was food missing from my orders and/or food from other days, which wasnt a big deal but it started happening more and more .... Again really LOVED Snap (the shrimp paella!) but they do need to work on back-end operations.

I love Snap because its wholesome, appropriately portioned, convenient, and easy. What could be more helpful on a busy day when your slammed and starving than a pre packed meal that has all your macros counted? Aside from that, the food is delicious and diverse. *I can easily say that they are much more tasty and affordable than the other pre packaged health food kitchens. I let Snap take care of my weekly meals and I do the rest on the weekends. Im so glad that Snap exists, because they make my life a little easier!

Parking can be rough but I go during the day and can usually find a spot near front. They have a number you can call and pick it up too. I love the staff here, and Snap is one of the best local premade meals if you want healthy, paleo, low carb, or vegetarian. They also have coconut water, amazing juices and granola snacks, so its a perfect place to stop for quick groceries for the week. It doesnt get any easier!

A very smart idea for a dining experience. Watching your weight or trying to maintain that healthy physique? This is the place to do it! Of the 6-7 times I have been there, I have never disliked what I have ordered/bought. I have not tried any of their long term programs, but I hear nothing but good things!

Ive never gotten anything at SNAP I didnt love. I love how the food is divided in to breakfast/lunch/dinner and labeled for dietary restrictions. Its hard not to feel guilty bc everything is SO tasty and yet its healthy! Try the fresh juices, and gluten free nuts and sweet treats.

A quick and easy place to grab a healthy meal. However, several times this location has been out of stock when Ive tried to pick up lunch. Maybe I just had bad timing, but I think they could be a little more prepared during regular meal hours.

I had the Bison Quinoa Hash and it was really good! The service was great there too. I forgot to purchase a water and the person there gave me one for free when I came back up and thanked me for being a customer. Thats good service!

They have some Paleo-friendly pre-packaged foods that taste like homemsde meals. As far as price goes, you end up paying $4 more per meal vs cooking the same meal at home. Its not a bad trade-off if you dont make the time to cook.

This place is unique because its healthy pre prepared food in the heart of Austin. Im not a huge fan of microwaves so Im rating this a 3. The staff is friendly and they have a variety of options for under $10.

Tastes great but a little on the pricey side. As a big guy, the portions are too small for me with some things but, the large size of done items fill me up

Hand crafted food thats fast and convenient. Love the hand tossed salads and the snacks. Try the garlic kale snack and the cold pressed juices!
