Blue Elephant Boutique carries upscale clothes and cosmetics–think Marc Jacobs, Joes Jeans, MAC makeup, etc. If you are looking to treat someone to a really special (and pricey) birthday gift, Blue Elephant is the place to go. Although not a regular shopping spot for me, I did splurge on a Billabong sweater that is quite possibly my absolute most favorite sweater I have ever owned. It is really well made and has a unique Arizona-desert sort of pattern that looks great both during the day and for wearing out at night. I down-graded the Blue Elephant because I found the staff to be unfriendly and inattentive. Also, the prices are ridiculous for some of their store-brand clothes. Sometimes you will get lucky and there will be a sale rack in the back by the dressing rooms, but the items will still run you $40 and up. Shoe selection is disappointing. Note: If you are looking for Austin-themed gifts, they carry the Austin embroidered pillows, bar towels, and glasses (other states included as well).

This is a bittersweet tale. I was told that I could return an item for a refund if I was not satisfied, but being somewhat cynical, I called before I took it back--just to be on the safe side. I was told I could get a full refund. It was a different story when I did take it in. The girl at the register was very nice, but unbendable because they NEVER give refunds. I had to take store credit. When I told the friend who referred me to the store, she said she has taken items back for refund as did HER friend. I called and asked about it. I was told to come in and I would receive a refund. When I got there today, I was told I could NOT, in fact, have a refund because it was already store credit, and that could not be cashed. BLUG! I took an item that zerod my store credit. The clerk (short, dark hair) was super nice, but I cant go back there on principle. A policy is a policy.

This place has an amazing collection of perfect gifts, from Voluspa candles to quirky ice cube trays (in the shape of fish, swizzle sticks, guns, etc.). They also offer complimentary gift wrapping. And even better, they have a suite of beauty and bath products - I go here for bumble and bumble hair products.

this is one of my favorite vintage boutiques. i love that they have a wide variety on accessories, arts and crafts, amazing clothing, and fun gadgets for home. i shop here a lot! theyre prices are great and handy!
