I had few minutes break today, then I just decid to go quickly to that kroger to pick something for my lunch, so I went to the deli counter and asked the lady working there (I hadnt a chance to memorize her name but I am sure theres a "k" on her name) I asked her for a different kind of beef Boar’s Head deli meat, I am more familiar with deli Turkey thats the reason I asked for different choices they have for beef, she was just replaying my questions, saying "What?" but very rudely way, every time I tried to make it more clear she was just keeping interrupting me saying "what?" as rude as you can horribly imagine!! and then one customer was standing beside me, she did the job of that kroger employee, she showed me all different kinds of deli beef they had there, and I finally chose the roasted beef, when I asked her for two slices of rosted beef she just replayed with the same rude "what?" it was just unbelievable!!!! I couldnt beleive she was being as horrible!!! I just left saying "never mind", and I would never go there again. So please pay attention of what you are hiring, that lady doesnt deserve to work at Kroger and take care of customers, you need to train your employees about their way to behave with customers, I hope the manager of this store will read my review and will do his best to improve the quality of customer service. I know Kroger runs a lot of super markets in different states and unfortunately this one in Memphis @ 1366 Poplar is not the best or average. This one has 2 guards that I see at all times, one outside on a golf cart or one inside. I highly recommend you park in the center of the lot and not to the side or near the street. This place has a lot of foot traffic from different source of customers ranging from walking, bus, & personal car. Food quality can be better at the produce aisle but can’t complain much when you have employee who obviously don’t care or cashiers who are too busy talking to co-workers than doing their job.

I hate this store. No selection of specialty items, and if you are lucky enough to find what you want, it is way overpriced. For instance, a jar of sundried tomatoes was $9.00 and there was only one brand on the shelf, AND we really had to hunt for it. The parking lot feels unsafe although there is security. Usually long lines at check out. The other day, I couldnt find any turkey legs, of all things. We wanted some fresh bagels -- nope. Really sucks that Kroger took over Midtown Memphis. I have been driving to the Walmart in Southaven to do my grocery shopping -- 13 miles to keep from having to shop at this Kroger.

The prices are fantastic. They are doing a good job of keeping the panhandlers at bay. Security is great, and the iron fence around the lot is a nice touch. Id shop there more often if I had a car, but its not a real nice place to be waiting on a bus. I went there today, only because I was in the neighborhood for another reason. The shopping cart locked up on me, in the middle of the lot. I thought they were supposed to do that at the perimeter. For me, that was an annoyance. For an elderly person, struggling to get a cart full of groceries to their car, it could be a major problem.

Nice store. True, its not in the best neighborhood, but Ive never seen panhandlers when Ive been, although there are some strange looking people in the store sometimes. From looking at the decor on the interior, it appears it was last renovated sometime in the late 90s/early 2000s. However, the outside looks older. They have plenty to offer, and the people are helpful. Ive never had a problem with this store. They even have a little cafe that has great food. Its a nice little place to have lunch. Not the newest store, but its a great place for general grocery shopping.

The non-hipster Kroger. The parking lot is seedier, but the spots are available, and you dont have to do a 15 point turn to get out. We prefer it, due to parking availability and a less "hipsterer than thou" vibe. Good looking, fresh veggies, GF food options. Id say we spend a fraction of the time there and still get everything we need, than we do if we stop at Hipster Kroger. However, if we need something a little more esoteric, we do go to the hipster kroger.

No parking, people blocking doors, security is absent at best, cashiers are scarcer than hens teeth at peak times, selection is below other Krogers, self service often only had 3-4 functional terminals and asking for help takes longer than just waiting in a regular line, manager was brusque and offended by questions..of the 3 Krogers in my area this is without a doubt the worst one, and compared to other Krogers in other States..it still fails.

Whatever you do watch your meats! Those re-shops sits up front for days at a time. The manager of the store Eddie Robbins is a racist yes I said it... I call like I see it. Work his store employees like Hebrew slaves. The only thing that I would buy out if there would be things that you dont have to really cook because you dont know if what you are buying have been sitting out or not. I cant wait for the Union store to open.

My experience at the Poplar and Cleveland location was phenomenal!! My interactions were with the Bakery. Ms. Jessie and Ms. Lashuntas customer service was stellar! They were so helpful, friendly and very professional. They greeted me with a smile and made me feel like a special customer. Kudos to Ms. Jessie and Ms. Lashunta! You ladies are A1 employees and I will definitely shop at your store again!!
