So I have been a longstanding member with Barnes & Noble for a good while and have had nothing but tremendous and helpful service with stores across the nation. That is until today when I called this particular store to find some rare magazines that I was searching for. I called up there in the afternoon around 3:30pm and I talked with an older woman who was very dismissive and seemed to not really care about my needs. I asked her if she had the issues and she replied that they were available. I then proceeded to ask her how many where available and she quickly yelled at me and asked how many I needed because she had around 4000 of them?! Really?? 4000? I then told her that 10 would be enough and asked if they would ship and she emphatically said "NOO!" She then got the "Store Manager" on the phone. His customer service was just as bad if not worse. I also explained to him what I needed and he refuted my order every step of the way. Beaten down and discouraged about his poor customer service, I asked him why he was letting a $100 order just walk out the door? He paused briefly and responded that he didnt care if it was a $1000 order he wasnt going to ship me anything and said bye and hung up in my ear as I was talking. I thought store managers were to boost sales and profits not turn them away. I bet if I walked in that store today their demeanor would be different. Unfortunately I will never set foot in this store and neither should you!

The cashier asked me if Id like to become a "member" and about all the discounts Id receive, so I signed up. I was almost home before I realized my bill was much more than it should have been, so I looked at my receipt and he had charged me $25 for the membership. Not once has he said that it cost any money to join, much less $25. So I had to drive all the way back to get it refunded. When I told him what happened, he wouldnt even admit that he hadnt told me. Neither he nor his manager even apologized for the inconvenience, much less the deception. Also, that same cashier put 5 heavy coffee table books in one bag. Needless to say it broke, and he didnt apologize about that either.

I went to this Collierville (drove 30 minutes) Barnes & Noble to check out their selection if Gundam Model Kits. They had a very impressive selections (the one near me only had a few different models). Plus, with my B&N card I was able to save 10% on the kits, too!

Selection of Compass Test prep books was not very good and the service was okay. I used to work at a B&N back in 2010 and it seemed to me that the employee had never even been back in the test prep section. I had to show them around, which was embarrassing.

Love this bookstore. I was looking for a ASVAB book to study and they help me find it fast and with respect! The only problem is that it to far from where I stay, during thats it! I love this bookstore!

Talking to them over the phone to hold a book was so easy, thanks to the friendly staff! They gave me all the information I needed, and when I got there, it was ready to pick up!
