While shopping at a Greenville SC Belk’s my party was approached by a disheveled individual who refused to proclaimed himself to be a Belk’s employee (when asked, but seemingly is), and asked that we adjust our language... mind you our personal conversation was not overtly loud, nor should it have been offensive to an intelligent American Citizen in this day and age, but we agreed to comply. This should have been the end of it, but one member of my party was compelled to ask for proof of said individuals’ credentials, which resulted in him calling the authorities and aggressively attempting to have us removed. If Belk’s management is comfortable with treating paying customers (over $450.00 in merchandise was returned to the racks that day as a result) in this fashion then I would seriously question spending one more cent to profit this corporation! At this point it is your call as to how you move forward with this information, but as an American that has spent over $2500.00 in the past month and a half on American made products I find it offensive in the extreme to hear other Americans are treated this way in this day and age!!! Choose Dillard’s, Macy’s, or any other federated logistics store over Belk’s.

I was buying new underware and the tag on them said 3 for $18. I found 6 pair that I liked. I went to the register and they said that the weekend sale was 4 for $24. How is that a sale?! The store "sale" forces you to buy more!! Ridiculous!! I asked the African American sales women named JEANNE to ask a manager to honor the price on the tag. JEANNE said her manager would would say, "no" even though there was no more stock left for me to buy. I had to repeat myself and told her she needed to ask the manager. The manager gave the okay over the phone and then then JEANNE said, "Well, my manager is so busy that she doesnt have time for such petty things." I paid the tag price and then wrote a letter to the company explaining why I would never shop at Belks again.

I was treated extremely rude by the sales clerk in the Haywood Mall store simply because I asked about using a coupon. I realize I am not in the upper echelon of clientele, but I have worked hard my whole life and watch my expenses. Whatever this ladys problem was, I did not deserve to be treated like this. The store in Simpsonville has always treated me and others with respect and courtesy. I find really good bargains and good quality clothes at Belk, so I will stay away from Haywood Mall and remain in Simpsonville.

Awful customer service! I was treated very bad when I was purchasing womens shoes. The cashier raised her voice at me. I felt so bad it was in front of many other customers on a Saturday. I always been a loyal customer of belk but honestly I wont ever go back there I will take my business somewhere else. Shopping should be a fun experience. Please train your staff !! Im a restaurant manager and I know customers are the reason we have jobs !!

Is Belks stingy with hangers? I spent $45 on a dress shirt and $40 on dress slacks for my son over the weekend and was suprised when the cashier took them off the hangers and FOLDED/ROLLED them up and put them in a bag. Immediatly after I went to Dillards and purchased a dress shirt which was half the price and the cashier there left it on the hanger and put a bag over the hanger. Will not be purchasing anymore dress clothes from Belk.

Well at first it was beginning to be a bad experience. I waited for someone at the shoe department. I knocked on the door to the shoe area and no one came out. A lady by the name of Francis Williams was walking by who works in another area. She politely came over and asked could she help me. I advised her of needing to make a payment and she took the time to help me. Thank you so much Mrs. Williams!!!!!

Amazing customer service in the mens dress department. I told the associate my budget, and that I needed something for an unexpected funeral, he was incredibly kind and helpful, he never once tried to upsell me. I live in Chattanooga now, but I can only hope to get this service at any other store that I go to. Belks, you have an amazing employee on your hands.

Customer service wasnt good. I have a premier belk card and dropped off all the items I bought to get gift wrapped for free. Needless to say, the gift boxes werent tagged with initials I left. So when I got home, I had to rip the pretty wraps to figure out which box belonged to who. Pretty much wasted my time waiting 2 hours getting everything gift wrapped.

While most people only post negative, this season I have had a great experience with belk at Haywood mall. Matthew in womens shoes was more than helpful with a return/exchange. He also does great juggling multiple customers as they would come up and ask for help while he was helping me. He is the best. Keep it up Matthew!

If I could give Belks a no stars I would! Awful and managers are useless and dont know how to handle a simple return. FYI IF YOU DO A SPLIT PAYMENT TO PAY FOR SOMETHING AND WANT TO RETURN IT YOULL SPEND 2 HOURS FIGHTING WITH THE MANAGERS ABOUT HOW THEY MESSED UP A RETURN.
