Not a great internet buying experience. I had been looking for a while and saw D.L. Hunting had a few of the no-lock S&W 340PD. I called and ordered one for $850, gave an accurate model and SKU number, but the gun they sent to my FFL was a M&P 340, a gun D.L. Hunting sells for $730. Fortunately I inspected the gun before accepting it, noted the difference, and refused the shipment. I called D.L. and spoke with someone named Al who checked into it, then informed me that he had talked to my FFL and in fact the gun was a 340PD like I had ordered. I had to describe the difference between a 340PD and M&P 340 before Al agreed to send my FFL a return shipping label. Al told me they did have a 340PD in stock and would send a correct gun to my FFL. Al also said I should have used a SKU number when ordering, and I told him in fact I had. I knew and stated the exact model gun I wanted and the SKU (this is very important to avoid the lock model on these S&W guns). I also sent them a confirmation email that same morning with the model and SKU number ordered along with a copy of my FFL’s license. I should note the receipt D.L. Hunting provided with the gun reflected the purchase of a “S&W M&P 340PD”. Anyone that works with S&W daily would know there is no such model. I have an uneasy feeling that had I accepted the gun and left my FFL’s business, I would not have had an easy time getting D.L. Hunting to admit to their “mistake” and send the correct gun. I never received a tracking number for the replacement gun nor was it shipped promptly. I did finally receive the correct gun - initial order placed September 2, correct gun received September 23. If you do order via internet (phone order only) I strongly recommend emailing your order specs to them. That way you have something in writing should problems arise. Some of the other reviewers noted they had unpleasant phone experiences with the D.L. staff. In my experience they were not unpleasant on the phone, nor were they pleasant! Bottom line - too many other choices out there to put up with lackluster and unapologetic service, so I will buy elsewhere in the future.

Ive purchased a few rifles and a handgun here, and would usually be my stop to get ammo, but service wasnt good years ago when I started to go to D&L, but I went there recently to purchase a rifle and was ignored for a long time, then finally someone assisted me and was extremely rude, Ive spent a decent amount of money purchasing a few brand new rifles and handguns there, and I purchase my ammo there but was treated badly, like they didnt want my business even though I wasnt there to shop around, I knew what I wanted and they had it. Ive never received such bad customer service from any place, and it wasnt just one time deal, Ive been going in an out of there a good amount of Times to purchase ammo and a rifle, but the service is getting worse. I was there a few days ago and stood at the front looking at the handguns and not one single person asked me if I needed help, even though there was 2 employees standing 2 feet away from me talking and even looked at me and just ignored me. So I am completely done with D&L, I definitely WILL advise anyone I know NOT to do business with D&L, and its not like they only want your money, they do a terrible job at that, its not like I was asking them to jump through hoops, I like to be in an out, I understand if its busy, I wont complain, but when employees are free and dont want to help, even though Im not shopping around, every time Im there Im getting something specifically, and dont waste anyones time. They cant even take my money, I just want them to grab the rifle, I fill out the paperwork, take my money then Ill pick it up after, they cant even do that because they wont even come talk to me. Its very obvious none of them have any customer service skills. And Ive spent a decent amount of money there and Just for the people who judge, Im in my 20s with a spotless record and a RHODE ISLAND Concealed Carry Permit (not an officer). I wish I could give 0 stars, its so comical how bad the service is.

Beware this online dealer as they will sell you damaged goods listed as "factory new condition", then they will not agree to refund or even exchange. I purchased online from them a listed "factory new condition" Beretta pistol and even asked them to please check over the pistol and make sure it had no obvious scratches/damages (their ad listed they had 5 in stock). When I went to my FFL to pick up the pistol I immediately saw that it had an obvious deep scratch on the frame. I never accepted delivery from my FFL, and I called them immediately and requested a return label for an even exchange...they said that they believed all 5 of their pistols were already sold...and they wanted me to send photos of the scratch...which I immediately did from my phone. I never heard back from them so I called them the next day and was told that they were waiting for a reply from Beretta; I told them that my FFL still had the pistol and that I never took possession of it due to the damages and I just wanted a return label and a full refund or an even exchange...again they said that all the other pistols were already sold. I checked their ad on Gunbroker that day and they showed 3 in stock, and today they show 2 in stock. I have not heard from them for 2 days, and I just looked up Berettas warranty and it states that "Beretta does not warrant the metal with respect to finish or scratches which should be apparent to the purchaser when the product is purchased". A reputable and honest dealer would not make me deal with Beretta for a damaged pistol that I have never took possession of from my FFL dealer and that was bought online sight unseen, they would send me a return label and give me a full refund. I have never been burned this bad before from any online dealer.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had. I purchased a gun from them online almost four weeks ago and still have yet to receive it. I called them two weeks after I place my order to find out why my FFL did not receive it yet. I was told that everything was shipped the week prior but the shipping guy was not there to give the status of my order. I called again about 10 days later (4/10/13) again to find out my order status since my FFL STILL has not received my gun. I was rudely interupted halfway through asking that I wanted to know the status of my order and told to call back because the shipping guy was not there. I called back again later that day when I was told the shiping guy would be there. He was not. I was told he had already left and went home for the day. I am still trying to call them today (4/11/13), but like most other times when I call, the line is always busy (Are you purposely leaving the phone off hook so you dont deal with customers about why they never received their order?). *shipping guy - when asking about my order, I was told the guy who ships orders is the only person who knows or has access to the status of my order. How can you run as a business where no one has access to orders that have been placed excepte the shipping guy who is never there? *I recommend them shortly after I made my purchase to a friend because they had some AR-15s in stock. He never received his order and had to cancel it. I will never buy from them again. I very highly DO NOT recommend anyone to buy from this dealer. Worst customer service experience ever.
