DO NOT Shop at Gander Mountain! I went to Gander Mountain to buy a pistol safe today 4/2/17 which the price of the safe was $20 more than local stores. When asked if they will price match Home Depot I was told no which was fine because it wasnt a outdoor store. But! the only one the have in stock was a floor model so I ask if they have a disccount for a floor model and they said no. Which I thought was weird so I left. In my car I look online at Cabels for the same safe and had it for $99. I called the customer service of Gander Mountain and told them what happened and they said they will price match the Cabels price and %10 since its a floor model! So I walked back into the store asked for the keys to the floor model so I can buy this safe. I was greeted by the manager which was EXTREMLY rude! He asked he what I needed and I told him that I was told they will price match and %10 and he said NO he will not and said he didnt care who we talked to since he was the manager. I proceed to say to him he shouldnt have his workers say one thing and than he says another! The location should be on the same page so this doesnt happened. As I proceed to put the safe down I said to the manger that this is why some locations are going to foreclosures because they will not work with customers. WE WERE TOLD TO GET OUT! Never will I shop here again. On the way out customer service agreed with us!

I visited the Warrington store today eager to see what the $50 Gander Mountain gift card purchased 3 days earlier by a friend would get me. I easily found a few things I needed and proceeded to checkout satisfied with the items, prices and displays. However, after presenting the gift card I was told it was declined. Apparently, the card was not activated at the POS by the cashier. I called my friend and he mentioned that he had an issue purchasing two gift cards as the cashier couldnt get one to scan. he picked another card checked out and left. This was very embarrassing for him, me and my grandsons who were with me. I completed the purchase with my own credit card. My friend is looking for his receipt with his wifes help and I am waiting for him to resolve the issue which, of course, means another 30 minute trip back to Warrington. Jaqui, the cashier was extremely thoughtful and did everything she possibly could by phone to customer service but was not able to get the card activated. Needless to say, other than Jaqui I cant say I am impressed with the way things appear to work at my local Gander Mountain store. In addition, why is reloading powder not displayed but rather kept in a place hidden from public view?

Nice store but firearm related products are way overpriced. In most cases double. There are two other gun stores within 5 miles that sell for half what GM does. Why would I pay $49 for a Glock mags when everyone else has them for $25 or less. Same exact mag, made by the same exact company.....Glock. I know they have a price match IF you bring in the advertisement however, in other stores its just their regular price, not some sales special. Its just the typical everyday price! There is no advertisement to bring in. Besides Tanners is 6 miles away and Claytons is 1.5 miles away from GM. Why would I bother bringing in an advertisement if I can just buy it there already. This isnt just about that mag. All their magazines were extremely overpriced. Not just by a dollar or two. And the guns themselves arent any better. While their display cases look nice the selection is limited and priced much higher than any other store around. $499 for a USED Glock 21. Thats $100 - $150 more than other stores. I cant speak for their camping supply prices but if its anything like their firearm prices, which Im assuming it is, then I have no reason to purchase anything there. Especially in the era of online shopping!

Was ready to purchase 4 optics (3x Sig Romeo 4c and a Bushnell scope = over $1200 + another $300-400 in cleaning kits, bore snakes, Magpul stuff, etc) but the 4 employees behind the counter couldnt spare 30 seconds to unlock the optics case and hand me the boxes. Even after explaining that I dont want to look at them, I want to buy them and check out. After being told "just a minute" for the 2ND time, one of the employees took a phone call. He left the gun counter and chatted with the caller about the store liquidation and possible closing for several minutes while pacing the aisles amongst waiting customers. So, I asked him how he has 5 minutes to walk away and chat about the how the guy from the show "The Profit" might keep the store open but he doesnt have 30 seconds to make a $1200 sale? His response was "sir, I understand youre frustration." I said "if you understood my frustration, this store wouldnt be in liquidation." I then dropped my basket and walked out of there with every cent of the cash I had when I walked in. Gander Mountain is a good name for this place. Because you can only gander at their merchandise, they dont actually care about selling any of it.

Was there today to buy a gun. Their policy states if there is a difference in price they will match it and 10% of the difference. The gun I was looking at was on sale for $299 at cabelas. It was priced $399 at gander. After the salesman checked everything out he came back and said he had to check with his manager again about something else. He came back and stated that they (he and manager) checked and cabelas was out of stock at their 2 nearest locations and that price match applied only to in Stock items. Ok, no problem. So on the way home I decided to call Cabelas and see. Yeah they had 26 of that specific gun in stock. Instead of saying "wow sorry that price at cabelas is too low for us to honor" they made up some story which was a fabricated lie. Besides that the salesman was very helpful and pleasant, but Im pretty sure his hands were tied by his manager. Regardless, a crappy business tactic to use, not going back there again

My experience here was so horrible I had to leave a review. Went here to sell my very clean Rossi model 46102 357mag 3". At a Fair price as advertised. Let me start by saying after waiting 45 min to have someone wait on me and have my gun appraised by a so called expert I had to tell him where the model number was on the gun cause he couldnt find it. When all was said and done I was told they would give me $90 for my revolver and they would be selling it for $149. Complete joke. If thats the case Ill buy 10. I understand I was selling an inexpensive gun, but these revolvers are sold for $300 used all day. Didnt realize ripping off their customer base was part of their policy. Needless to say Ill never go back. UPDATE- Took a road trip to Cabelas over the weekend and sold the gun their for $175. Almost twice what I was offered. I Know where Ill be taking my business from now on.
