I used to love this place. I celebrated this organization because they use to have great prices that were unique, quality driven, and affordable. They did all of this for what I thought to help a community of people. I never questioned their integrity until I went to the new location. I can’t say that they are not a nonprofit, but I question how much of the money is attributed to the people they say they are helping! The prices are now crazy!!! Marshals, Ross, and at times even Macy’s have better pricing, quality for NEW pieces. It is of my belief that they either have changed executive directors or have just lost their way. I do not believe that the majority of the dollars spent is going to helping people. I believe most money on every dollar contributed must be going towards ownership of real estate, salaries, and operational cost. In essence, it is of my opinion that these people could be avoiding paying taxes via the use of this entity. I believe (this in my opinion) that Uhuru could be a way that helps lower cost on other initiatives. It is my sincere belief that these people are now exploiting the people they say they are helping!

I support Uhurus good cause, but it is strange that the people at the store dont know how to be nice to their customers or potential volunteers. It seems a little unorganized and chaotic at times, which makes the flow of people going through uneasy. All in all, I think they should try to get some more friendlier workers that dont treat their customers like objects. I always had this repel against the way the old woman with the crazy hair would try and sell me furniture. It almost seemed like she was trying to force me to buy something by exploiting the good cause idea behind the pitch. Be wary of Uhuru.

With the clock running out on my lease and no buyers for a furniture set I just didnt have space for anymore, I called Uhuru and asked how short is too short notice ... I was amazed to find out that because their drivers were ahead of schedule, they were able to come same-day! The women I spoke to on the phone were very friendly and thankful for the donation. The gentlemen who came to collect the furniture were professional and moved everything in under 10 minutes. Overall, as a furniture donor, I was very impressed with Uhurus operation.

I called twice to ask about an item, both times the phone was busy. I left polite messages asking them to get back to me both times. No one called. I then emailed twice about the item. No one replied. I guess they dont want to sell things too badly. The item I was interested in and was happy to pay full price has now been discounted twice and its still there for sale. Not very good salesmanship......respond to your customers! It aint rocket science.

They sold furniture to me with urine of cat when I get home I realize that , I gave them a call to return it , they come and refuse to take it...the said it have a damage on it even though I called the next day I call that "angel"-voice skinny lady , she refused to talk to me (watch her she acting like an angel but she is something else) I took them to court ... its not be cause of money but because they rip me of dont be the next victim

Fair warning to anyone considering about giving these people your business. They attempted to sell me a couch that was totally soaked through during a rain storm. I know this, because the couch was outside getting rained on while I was in the store. Then, they sold me a different couch, and later refused to take it back (as a free donation) because of upholstery stains that were there when they sold it to me. Avoid at all costs.

Great selection of donated furniture. I was able to get a beautiful futon for $125 (would have been $400 new). They also sell mineral paint so that you can customize your furniture (they even offer workshops) Delivery is also quick, affordable, and professional. Best of all, besides for it being a furniture store its a community with a great mission. The people who run this place are so nice and helpful.

They propably have good buys but you cant see an ything. Too much stuff piled in a little store. I was looking at a sofa but I couldnt really get to it because it was stocked with another couch on top of it. The legs from the other couch was digging into it.

The prices are awesome! The people there were happy to move a bunch of furniture around just so my room mate and I could try out a couch or two. Also, they delivered the couch we bought to us within 30 minutes of our purchase for $30.
