I live about three blocks from this grocery store and its by far the closest store to me, but I avoid it like the black plague and here are the reasons why: 1. 95% of the employees are rude and their attitude towards the customers is borderline satirical (Its akin to the Dave Chapelle skit set in the copier store). 2. Their prices are astronomical. I also shop at Wegmans in Cherry Hill, NJ (A very upscale grocery store with an eat-in restaurant serving sushi etc.) and the prices in Fresh Grocer are almost always higher. 3. The layout is criminal, the vertical aisles are slanted and do not hit the horizontal aisles perpendicularly. This would not be a problem if the aisles on the store walls were also slanted, but they are straight! Its like this Aisle Store wall | | | | | | | | The traffic that occurs at the meeting point of the aisle and the wall is absurd and often results in patrons grunting and gesturing in what can only be described as a cavemans level of sophistication. There are only two reasons I ever go to this store. 1. They have good cheeseburgers made to go. 2. They sell trolley tokens. So if you do not want to buy trolley tokens or a cheeseburger, please shop elsewhere, anywhere, please just not here.

Its true that sometimes people can be rude in the store, but Ive found that is just common to Philadelphia (at least this area). In most other places Ive lived, people who act like that are usually reprimanded or fired quickly, but here, I think there are just too many rude people to replace them. I think all they really lack is some basic workplace etiquette training...it seems like anyone with a bad day is out for blood. That said, Ive never had major problems with people here--not super mean, but certainly not the most pleasant people Ive ever interacted with. Because the layout is confusing and the aisles are narrow, make sure you budget extra time for shopping than you think you should need. Their produce is usually very fresh and keeps for a good amount of time in the refrigerator. Its also well priced and comparable to other grocery stores in the area. On another positive note, they validate parking for a certain amount of time, so you can park for free, or at least for cheap. I havent looked at the meat there to know much about its price or quality, but I know that many items in the store, besides the aforementioned produce, are rather overpriced, but sales can bring some really good bargains.

I do not think that employees are racist , I am not American plus I wear a Muslim scarf and never noticed a bad behavior from any of the employees in this store . I agree that sometimes some of them are rude but I think that would be from the hard job they have to do and I noticed that people who shop there are very arrogant and rude . Last month , I made a mistake by putting the parking ticket in the wrong machine , I asked for help and thee lady who came from the store was very nice to me ( I put the ticket in the playing machine :) so she explained to me when the parking machine was and I left greaeful . Well, racism is a serious weed so we should not use it just because people are rude to us thinking that they do not like our skin color or origin . I am from North Africa and white , I grew up in Europe and I am Muslim so I know when someone act like a racist and what I do is just ignore and leave the person .

They have a variety in items but the employees are so rude!!! And they are racist. The African American employees behave really rude to non-African Americans. I was there yesterday. The girl packed the stuff for the lady in front of me and then helped her to keep them in cart. When I was checking out, she bagged the items and kept near herself. She didnt even cared to put it forth towards me! I had to collect them, with lot of physical trouble. She became busy assisting the next customer, despite seeing me having trouble. She packed 2 of my small items in separate bags and I collected only one, thinking that she has packed both of them in a bag. She didnt even tell me that I had another bag. In a sense, she stole my grocery. She bagged them and kept near her! Is racism against whites or browns (I am Indian) is not racism?

I love going there and do go there a lot, but todays visit was an odd one. After being assisted checking out my order by a Fresh Grocer employee, I walked out carrying my bag of goods. I was stopped a block away by another employee who said I needed to pay for the items in my bag. (I cant walk well due to physical issues so how long did they take to decide I stole from them to have let me get a block away?) It was bad enough that this happened right after meeting up with coworkers but what made it even worse was when I pulled the receipt out of the bag to present to her I did not get an apology but a nasty look like Ok, this time you got away with it but not the next time! I read many comments that talk about the problems customers have with the employees there but this was a first for me.

Good Selection, Good Prices They have a good selection of stuff here, from fresh fruit, vegetables and meat (including organic selections) to canned food, drinks, snacks, and more. The grocer also carries a range of Asian condiments. Prices are good too, with instant noodles at 3 for $1 if you choose the small Maruchan ones. (This is probably the cheapest thing here). The larger one which I bought goes for $0.99 - still a very good deal. A good bunch of grapes is $2.99, avocados are 3 for $5. Just a sense of how much things are here. Due to the way groceries are arranged here, the first visit can be somewhat confusing. Not a big deal though. The beer and wine selection is at a separate section with a separate payment counter. Happy shopping experience.

I have no other alternative than to shop here as I dont own a car and any other grocery store is too far away from my place than this one! But I have started hating it more and more... They REGULARLY carry VERY OLD dairy products (milk, yogurt, cheeses) and produce... I have found rotting cheeses and other produce with full of fungus growing over it in the deli section. They remove GOOD products from their selection completely.. like I used to buy one particular bakerys chocolate cake which was made from very healthy wholesome ingredients, but they DISCONTINUED it and now replaced with that are unhealthy fatty cakes! I wish I was staying in some other area and didnt have to shop my groceries here. I hate this store to the core!
