Ive come to expect mediocrity from food lion. Ive never been impressed by their offerings nor their customer service. Most employees seem to act as if youre in their way as your browse the aisles and some even seem to be borderline hostile towards the presence of customers. But it gets the job done...and I feel like thats their aim. Given the limited OBX grocery options I dont think theyve had much healthy competition in many years so they have very little reason to improve. So, if you want to "just get some groceries" then food lion will suit you well. If you want to "shop for groceries" or find a unique item for a recipe Id suggest you look elsewhere.

The staff go above and beyond their call of duty! While shopping with the elderly lady I take care of and my rambunctious toddler one of the managers helped me finish my shopping and took my buggy to the front and loaded everything for me, the cashier and baggers were extremely friendly and patient, and one of the baggers not only took the buggy to my car but also loaded my groceries for me while I put my lady and toddler in the car. Their pricers are the best on the beach as well in my opinion. Always my go to store for big grocery trips.

I went here on vacation on Saturday, August 23 between 8-9 AM with my family. My mother was going to buy some fish on the fish aisle, and a woman working there, The fish attendant, began yelling at my elderly mother because she pointed at the fish she wanted. She was very rude and unprofessional, and it seemed this incident was racially motivated. Because of her attitude we decided to take our business elsewhere. Rude staff, unprofessional staff, would certainly not recommend anyone coming here.

Im from Raleigh and we have Food Lions near us and they are known to have cheap prices but not the cleanest stores IMHO. HOWEVER, this is the nicest and most clean Food Lion I have stepped foot in. Everything is clean and the store stocks a lot of items that are better in a beach town than a typical Food Lion usually offers. We went to this store a bunch and loved it!

They help me find what Im looking for when I cant find it my self, Plus I get coupons with my receit on the things I just purchased too use on my next visit to Food Lion.And I gave the cashier too much money once she gave it back to me! Its nice to find an honest person now adays!!!

Poor service, you have to have a store card to get halfway decent prices. Cashier was fired from walmart for working to slow. After she walked away from the register for the a second time i walked out and left all my stuff on the countet

Worst grocery store ever. People come here because they are on vacation and the employees are rude and lazy. They do not smile and make you bag your own groceries. Id rather drive out of the way than have to go here again.

Cashier never spoke to me, never told me what the total amount was, and even started to blame me for taking too long with pay pad when it was waiting for her to stop talking and look at her own screen to push a button.

The staff is extremely helpful! I went in with a friend to grab a few items. The manager noticed our hands were full and offered to get us a basket. I am a huge fan of that kind of southern hospitality :)

Clean, well organized, staff was friendly and helpful and knew the store well. Tends to be crowded on summer weekends but otherwise not super busy. Always plenty of open registers so checkout is fast.

1 star because the dont know how to post there hours correctly. The are open 7am- 11pm. The 24 hrs must be for peak season. But they need to make that clear.

The bathrooms in the OBX area Food Lions are poorly kept, dirty, and unsuitable for customer use. Harris Teeter, on the other hand, has beautiful bathrooms.
