Purchased a collectible first edition from The Old Library Bookshop online, using Biblio. They shipped the book media mail, which was fine, and unprotected, which was not. This 35-year-old hardcover weighed 28 ounces, and since it was shipped unprotected (apart from the envelope) the book was pretty badly beaten up on its way to me. In response to my email about their shipping I was - rudely, in my opinion - invited to return the book at my own expense, to be refunded minus their shipping costs. Its a shame. Sixty seconds and a piece of cardboard and I would have been a happy customer. Bottom line: you may do okay if you order a reading copy of something from this store, but I would never make another purchase from Old Library if I cared about the condition of the book upon arrival.

The ladies running this wonderful book store maintain a great local history collection. They are also strong in cookbooks and works by local authors. They are also very good at searching for and sourcing titles that may be difficult to find through the usual online sources. They are hard, dedicated workers offering fair prices for great service.

Visited in July 2011. Mostly second hand books, selection of older/rare books is small, but I still found something to buy and that I am enjoying browsing through. Books are accessible and owners are friendly and helpful. Leave time for lunch at Jumbars around the corner - its great.
