I want to share an experience my husband and I had at The Broadway Coffee House yesterday. Let me start with some background information. My husband is 51 and has survived several strokes over the years. He walks with a limp, has visible right side weakness as well as some speech impairment. We regularly use the conference rooms as they provide a quiet yet public place for meetings and such. Heres what happened. My husband wasnt feeling well so he went to the restroom. With out all the details he threw up and messed himself. He was not able to clean the stall as well as would be expected. My husband left the property to change his clothing and clean himself. He then returned to finish our meeting. About 45 minutes later, while concluding out meeting; an employee came to the door asking to speak with my husband privately. Confused, my husband compiled. The employee being very aggressive and in full view of several patrons begins to yell "we have cameras all over this place" "We saw what the **** you did down stairs" " you need to *** leave" My husband attempted to come back to the conference room to gather his belongings and explain the situation to me. The employee then shoved him against the wall. Again he attempted to get to me. And with the stress of the situation my husband was unable to speak well and managed to say "get out of my face" Then 2 more employees grabbed him and all 3 started to drag him into an elevator. By this time I ran out of the conference room to see 3 men attacking my husband. I broke them all up. The 3 employees attacked again trying to force my husband toward a stair well saying " youre not using our elevator." I was somehow able to break it up again and get my husband into the now open elevator. We left without further incident, while circled by the 3 herding us out the door. I received a very small scratch on my arm, and thankfully my husband was not harmed, nor were there any complications from the stress and blood pressure spike. I called the police to inquire about criminal charges. None were filed (although I wish there had been) as there were not any injuries to speak of. I would like to thank the Salem Police Department for their attentiveness and genuine care in their handling of this matter. The behavior of these employees was completely unacceptable and should and cannot be tolerated. Do they have cameras in their restrooms? Why did they want my husband alone? What would have they done if they had gotten him alone? Why did 3 employees feel the need to attack a visibly disabled man? Is this normal treatment of customers? I ask anyone who reads this to please share my story. Im not sure what I want to come of this other than letting others know of our horrible experience.

Usually enjoy this place twice a week. Their coffee often times has aroma of bitter chocolate and nutmeg, though on the palette its burnt and musky. Mocha tastes a little too synthetic. Teas are nice. Nitro is a blast. Customer service needs work: while Jake always has a smile, another gentleman with black hair combed to the right and a trimmed black beard is less friendly. Willing to pay for hot water due to a cold and having brought in "Emergency" packets for a boost, the guy said "Its fine just dont let it become a habit or anything." Found it somewhat disrespectful and I even encouraged that I would pay for it though he refused. Also, area has a homeless issue. Regardless, Coffee good when fresh, better teas, and nice atmosphere but customer service knocked it down to two.

Youve heard how God provided food and water for the Israelites in the desert, correct? Well this coffee comes from the same source. You would think God kissed your coffee to add that extra something special that just makes your day. Every night, when I am in the most pleasant time of my short slumber, I dream the same dream. It is me sitting in Broadway Coffeehouse, indulging in an elixir of the heavens. This holy drink, imbued with the tears of Christ, does wondrous miracles. It turns my 4 hours of "sleep" into an alive, refreshing 12. It "purks" me up. God is love. Coffee is the best love language alive. God speaks to me every time I sip Broadway coffee. God loves me very much.

Great atmosphere...RUDE staff. I managed a coffee shop in Portland for 5 years and lived most my life in Portland so I know what good customer service at a coffee shop should be. Broadway Coffeehouse is seriously lacking. If I had ever seen any of my employees be as rude to their customers like they are at this coffee shop are I would have fired them in a heartbeat. Good coffee is about the art of making a good product and providing excellent personalized customer service and not about being a pretentious jerk. It is a shame to see a great space and good product ruined by a staff of rude wanna be emo-kids.

Ive been coming here ever since it opened and I still enjoy coming here! The menu caters to more coffee purists which I am not, so in my opinion there is a limited selection of drinks which is perfectly okay. Some would say the space is similar to a hotel lobby. I enjoy this place mainly for studying because of all the tables and places to sit and enjoy free wi-fi. From a dark dreary day to a hot summer evening this building allows in the perfect amount of light and can be a relaxing place. The baristas are friendly and dont mind chatting with you. Stop by and I dont think youll be disappointed!!

Having traveled the world and been to every coffeehouse imaginable, I could consider myself an expert.
Walking in, it felt cold and impersonal. More like a hotel lobby than a coffeehouse.
Was greeted and served by a very nice professional woman, but all the other employees came off as rude and darn near creepy. Not pleasant. These folks would fail in Italy or Seattle.
This is a classic money making coffeehouse with absolutely no soul or culture. reminds me of a Dutch Bros with seating. No coffee soul.

Broadway Coffee is hands down the best coffee in Salem. I love being coached on coffee making, brewing and tasting from the knowledgeable and friendly baristas. I love the single origin and guest roaster options as it makes drinking coffee an adventure! If Coffees not your thing, the Steven Smith tea or Kombucha on tap are wonderful options! The roomy atmosphere lends itself to lots of different kinds of activities and people, its a great place to have a close-to-downtown business meeting ...with great coffee!

A great place to hang out, great meeting rooms and my husbands company Christmas dinner was held here...good stuff! Of note: the chai latte is thin...it definitely tastes like tea (chai) though! But without the full cream of whole milk (Or half and half or straight up cream), it just falls flat and the spices stick to the tongue and dry it out. :P Great coffee place, but go for bold and creamy chai lattes someplace else. (They are OK with me bringing in a cup from elsewhere so dont feel panicky about that)
