This is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. My garage door opener hasnt been working for months. I bought it from Home depot. When I called them their usual response was We will call the installer and get back to you. The installed will give you a call back. I did not get a call from the installer for months. Home depot would call me back and sayOh we have let the installer know. THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE NAME OF THE INSTALLER COS THEY COULDNT FIND IT!!!Last week when I called the manager and made the same complaint this is what they discovered Oops!! I SEE THERE IS A GLITCH IN THE system. THE INSTALLER WASNT NOTIFIED! Sorry. This time I have made sure the installer knows." It took them 4-5 many months to finally realize that there IS problem with their customer service interface. 2. Also twice the customer service people would hang up on me. Thats unprofessional and cheap!!

The service here is terrible. Theres always like 10 employees standing around talking to each other, doing nothing while there are customers -- such as myself -- who really could use some assistance and have no desire spending an hour and half in the store finding and purchasing just a few items. After about 45 minutes of looking for stuff, finally someone stops chatting with their co-worker long enough to come over and ask if theres anything they can do -- yeah, how about your job and like 45 minutes ago? When they do offer to finally help after 45 minutes, they either dont have that product or offer that service and I get to go home empty handed-- gee thanks Home Depot. Also, even when I do buy stuff here, I have to constantly return items as I believe this Home Depot does very little to no quality control on their inventory. Next time, Im just going to Lowes.

Home Depot is a great supply store. They excel at selling construction materials for the home & commercial contractor, as well as the DYIr. Their department supervisors are experienced pros in their areas of expertise (ie: plumbing or electrical, or doors). If you have a question just ask their pros (the dept supervisors). If you doubt that HD is where the real pros go, just stop by the Oregon Home Depot store in Hillsboro OR, the "Minter Bridge" store. Google it, theres a Lowes literally next door, its a great side by side comparison. During any work day, ALL the pro contractor trucks and work vans are at HD (30 to 40 rigs). While maybe theres 3 to 5 pro rigs next door at the Lowes. There you go! Im tired of hearing HD being bashed online. Ive been shopping at HD for over 20 years.

We ordered a dishwasher online and paid to have it installed, etc. with the coordination of the Jantzen Beach, OR, Home Depot. It was delivered today, and the very nice deliver men informed us that they could not install it because Home Depot required that dishwasher installations have a "dedicated shut off valve." We do have a shutoff valve that is shared with the kitchen sink that works just fine. However, the delivery men said that due to Home Depot policy, it has to be a dedicated shut off valve. When I eventually got ahold of Jantzen Beach (20 minutes on hold, transferred three times, two callbacks), they said that they had never heard of this requirement and that it was the installation contractors policy.

After a stressful move I went into Home Depot for a long list of items. I was tired, and not feeling well and pretty overwhelmed. A young cheery gal named Sydney asked if she could help me find anything and I showed her my long list and she said, "lets go shopping". She was totally awesome and so very helpful and really made my day. She even came with me to check out and brought my stuff to my suburban for me. Talk about customer service and going above and beyond. I felt like I had my own personal concierge. Kudos to Home Depot and for quality workers like Sydney who go above and beyond to help. She said she normally works in the nursery section so go see her. She is awesome.

The staff here are helpful and have quite a varied range of skills that almost always come in handy. I cant quite remember a time when the staff have failed to help me. When they dont carry a particular product or offer service, the staff even go out of their way to recommend SPECIFIC places in the area that can help you. Home Depot also has a really reasonable return policy that ensure that you never have to worry about not having sufficient materials or a project - just return the things you havent opened (obviously you cant return custom products like paint).

Im a gentle, calm person. This store made me mad at the store service for the first time in my life. I asked about the flooring product, and the man said You can not use any flooring coat to engineered floors. They can not be refinished or waterproofed with any products because its made in that way. He was so wrong... I tried to explain to him, then he treated me like I was a fool. Its scary that a man who is in charge of flooring products doesnt know anything about flooring... I agree with the other reviewer: Lowes, please come next to this store!!

I was in Salem to purchase a range hood that was on sale. It was out of stock at that location, but this store showed having the last one in stock in Oregon. The Salem store called up and confirmed they had one in stock and had it set aside. When I arrived, it turned out that it was the newer model that was replacing the one on sale (it was not even supposed to be on the shelf yet according to the manager). The manager was very kind and ended up doing some magic in the computer so they could sell it, even matching the sale price!

I recently needed a few large pieces of lumber for a project. The first weekend I went to Lowes, recieved lots of help, advice, and they cut my wood to size for me. The second weekend I went to Home Depot. Having come to two employees organizing an endcap, I was completely ignored by one employee, then the other employee told me, "Were kind of in the middle of something here." And then we waited 10 minutes for help cutting down wood. Comparitively, Home Depot is less than 1 on a scale of 1 to 10.

We are finishing up a major kitchen remodel where David Halliday became our designer. This was a lengthy process from planning our new kitchen to ordering cabinets to receiving them and dealing with minor problems as they occurred. He was very helpful in every regard... being very good at anticipating design problems thus avoiding many pitfalls when dealing with a do-it -your-selfer as me. Was very comfortable working with David as he helped make the experience very enjoyable.

While doing renovation in our Oregon house, which included painting 2 living rooms, 4 bedrooms and the bathrooms. BIG project! Anyway, we got a bum white that was like painting a sheer curtain! DJ, in the paint dept. not only educated me on paint, he was quick to see the problem! Knowing we have invested a lot in paint at this store, he was quick to help and make things right. Because of DJ, we will be back for our exterior paint as well! Thanks DJ!!
