What everyone is saying about lead time issues here and on yelp is true. Ordered my stuff which was quoted as 3-4 weeks lead time 5 weeks ago. At the 4 week point after receiving no tracking information I emailed them. The response I got back was something to the effect of "we just go around to looking at your order and were missing pieces for it. Were a month behind schedule." Hmmmm, thats interesting. If youre that far behind schedule, then why are you quoting the wrong lead times. I go out to their website and look at the items I ordered -- website still showing 3-4 week lead times despite them telling me my order will be at LEAST 8. I send them the screenshot and their reaction is, "sorry, well look into it." Theyre still say we "hope" youll have your order in another month. They wont even commit to it. How much do you want to bet I wait another 4 weeks and I get the same useless response?

I visit RR (the coffee shop) that shares the same space with Schoolhouse Electric often as its right down the road from my office. I love seeing the ever-changing layout of their store and all the neat, little things they make/assemble/sell/etc. Its easy to find yourself wandering around looking at everything. It has a very Wes Anderson vibe, which I really enjoy. My wife and I splurged and bought the Jack Loveseat, which Ive had my eyes on for 2 years now, and I think its wonderful. They told us it would arrive in 8 to 12 weeks, but it took 4. A nice surprise. The products are expensive, but for American-built products that will last a very long time, I feel the price is justified. The sales people are very friendly/helpful and dont pressure you at all if you just want to walk around and look. However, I recommend you do that with an RR cappuccino in hand. Best roaster in PDX, IMO.

I cant say good things about Schoolhouse Electric. I ordered a lamp and was told it would take 5 days. I assumed business days. The sales associate confirmed this with a manager. I paid the $600 for the one lamp and had the audacity of expecting an on time arrival. I called customer service after 10 business days (twice the allotted time) and was told to expect 4 weeks. Josh in customer service says he has no idea why I was told 5 days and that there wasnt much he could do... that MAYBE he could come up with a 10% discount. MAYBE?!? Is customer service dead these days? Is there no accountability. When im paying for your overpriced lamps in the amount of $600, MAYBE you should deliver on time.

Although it is obvious, this place is beautiful and carries beautiful items and I love coming here every time I visit Portland (I come here a few times a year from Minneapolis). What I think deserves a positive highlight is the amazing staff at the retail store! They are all so friendly, funny, and helpful and make this out-of-towner feel at home. I would especially like to give praise to Aleigh (ah, so sorry if I am spelling her name wrong)! I love this place and the people they hire! Cheers from Minneapolis.

My fiancé and I absolutely love the home goods here! Weve previously only been on their website, so when we were planning a trip up to Portland we knew we had to stop here. The space is in an old industrial building with an open floor plan. The space has great light and its a great opportunity to see how certain products can be styled for inspiration. We ended up leaving with some new bedding that we fell in love with! Just wish the prices were a bit cheaper, but youre definitely paying for quality items here!

Reused space in an older building is the perfect showroom for these high quality home goods. We have some of these fixtures in out house, and they are of the absolute highest quality. The staff at the showroom were helpful, and not at all pushy. I loved all of the arrangements of the pieces in here, it made me want to never leave.

Schoolhouse Electric Co supplies us with top quality crafted products and friendly and professional customer service. Ive toured their whole new facility and it is a really aesthetically pleasing place to spend time. I own two of their lamps and am always looking for another way to incorporate them into my live/work spaces.

I purchased a bed frame over 4 months ago and it has yet to be delivered, Schoolhouse Electric partners with a delivery service called white glove and they are just awful, for a high price ticket item, Schoolhouse Electric has surprisingly terrible customer service!

Came for the coffee (Ristretto). Browsed the overpriced lights and interior decor that we could never afford. If thats your thing, Im not judging. My suggestion: come here for home ideas, but purchase them elsewhere for cheaper or make them yourself.

On trend af with the kind of products that no hipster home should be without. If you thought the artisanal lightbulbs bit on Portlandia was a joke, you need to get down here ASAP (and maybe also buy one of these bomb artisanal lightbulbs).

Wow, what a find. I had no idea about this place. I thought it was just historic lighting but they have a wide selection of interior accessories, furniture, hardware. The warehouse space is great, plus a coffee shop too!

Great style, would model a whole home on their products. Unfortunately, they dont update their showroom with new items very often and the prices are pretty high. That said, its easily one my favorite homewares store.

They have a sign that says "Slow down with Schoolhouse" and I did just that. Such an inviting place and friendly staff. You like going to a place where you feel like you could be friends with the workers.

Great place if youre looking for trendy lighting. My wife loves it especially. In my humble opinion though they are overdoing it with these giant filament bulbs for the old-timey industrial look.
