In the short time Ive lived downtown I have consistently had the worst experience at the Safeway pharmacy (called Psycho Safeway for more than one reason). Ive stayed because of the convenience of having a pharmacy 2 blocks from my apartment. The staff there are rude, incompetent, and sexist. I should not get a racing pulse and anxiety every time I need to deal with the pharmacy, which is more often then it should be because they frequently cant fill meds on time. It may mean walking a few extra blocks, but Im happy to be moving my prescriptions to the CVS pharmacy inside Target.

Call something in, letting them know Ill have someone else picking it up for me. They said sure. Im messed up with my wisdom teeth removed. Person goes to safeway and isnt allowed to pick up my prescription. They have my ID and health insurance information. Doctor had to call them and make them give my prescription to my friend. This sucks. Theyre the slowest pharmacy ever. Good luck if you need your pain meds ASAP.

I tried to do a price check on a prescription not covered through insurance before I drove all the way out there. Stated they could not give a price, and unwilling to help other than telling me I had to come in person. If this is policy, its understandable, but this was all told rather rudely on the phone. Ill look for another pharmacy.

As a trans* POC, I was denied services by one of the MANY white cis pharmacy workers. Ive previously had, had difficulties getting a script for hormones filled by this pharmacy but Id never been denied services. I was told to take my script elsewhere and have since, now I warn friends and strangers of the dangers of Safeway Pharmacy.

This safeway has a horrible pharrmacy. Almost always has problems. They are slow and their space needs a major update. I would arrive and after waiting forever, they didnt have my prescription ready for some odd reason. I have now change to the OHSU pharmacy and get the best customer service. Avoid this pharmacy if possible.

They are always busy. The staff works very hard. Please be kind and patient with them, they deal with a lot of difficult customers being centrally located downtown.
