I totally agree with the negative reviews...they dont take much unless you show up at the right time when they are low on something, the owner is snotty and pretentious, and a lot of things are overpriced. I went in there for the first time a week ago looking for some NIKE shoes for my daughter thinking there would be a nicer selection of shoes than the goodwill. Although they have much more childrens shoes than the goodwill the quality of most of them was the same in terms of how used and beat up they were and cost much more than I would pay at goodwill. So I look around store at the clothes and shoes etc and think "oh I have lots of baby and toddler clothes and shoes same brands in better condition than half of this stuff" so I think I can bring in some bags (first mistake) assuming (second mistake) that they would take like a quarter of the stuff...barely worn Nike shoes and clothes, tons of carter stuff, Hannah Anderson, Disney etc and she chooses only like 4 things. I induced that they only have so much space and apparently dont keep any back up inventory therefore it is first come first serve in terms of when they are running low on particular things but If it was my store I would bump things out if a nicer version came through the door. I would also send out texts to those on their rewards program when they are looking for something such as "baby 2 baby looking for the following: girls size 10 shoes, girls 2T pajamas" etc so that those who have those things can bring them in when they are wanted rather than it being a hit or miss. This was the first time I had ever tried to consign anything and the woman who runs the store was pretentious and snotty to me about it. The way I was talked to makes me never want to shop there or consign there again. I made the mistake of bringing the clothes in bags (totally shouldve laid them flat but didnt even think about it) and the owner really talked down to me about it like this was some high end place (its not, its in a run down building between a marijuana shop and a liquor store, beat up inside and out and not well organized). She acted like she didnt care about having my business. If I owned a store and a potential customer walked in with 4 bags of stuff and I could only take like 4 things I would first explain to them why I was only choosing 4 items out of 75 so the person doesnt feel like their stuff isnt good enough (even if that was the case) AND I would tell them what you are in need of at the moment such as "well unfortunately I am pretty stocked up on clothes but I do need X, Y, or Z if you have that and please call regularly to check on what we need because you have some really cute things here but I just dont have the space right now but I am derfintely interested when some space clears up" rather than "Im only taking these 4 items and I did you a favor looking through these bags because its your first time but next time I wont unless they are laid flat". And to top off my negative experience, when I asked about other consignment shops around the owner said "...but Baby and Me is pickier than I am." I think she meant about the clothes being not laid flat but it felt like she meant my stuff isnt good enough and if she didnt take it they definitely wouldnt take it. The owner needs to work on her people skills and customer service. Overall I was not just disappointed but offended. I will not be returning to buy or consign.

I was told that this place is the only place around Portland that pays cash for used baby items instead of consignment. I called them to confirm this, which they did, so I traveled an hour from my house to bring them 5 boxes of clothes, books, toys, and more. They only wanted a brand new Batmobile that cost $40, and they offered me $1. They did want 1 of my larger items that I called and asked about, a brand new high chair. But guess what, they only consign more expensive items. They told me differently on the phone, and if Id known that I wouldnt have driven so far. They couldnt tell me how much they would price it at, but that I would get 50% and they get 50% of the sale price. They did have some cute stuff in their store, but it was extremely overpriced for being used items. Im not really the rich and posh downtown mother type that they cater to, so I was just disappointed. But if youre looking for something specific or dont mind paying close to retail, then it is a nice store and at least worth a visit. No parking though.

Weve been to this store many, many times, but todays experience really deserved the 5 star rating. I came in with my kids this afternoon just to get out of the house for awhile, but my 10 month old decided that, upon entrance to the store, it was the perfect time to do a massive, blow-out poop in her diaper. And, of course, being the seasoned mom of two that I am....I left her diaper bag at home. Not only did the kind ladies at the store provide me with diapers and wipes, but they actually gifted me an outfit so that I didnt have to bring my baby home naked :-p Thats service, folks. But, beyond this poop incident, this is also just a really great little store. We have found lots of clothes for both girls here, as well as some toys and a great little wooden highchair (which we use every night!). The women who work there are always very helpful and kind to my 3 year old daughter (who is generally pulling out all of their toys and princess dresses to play with...). Thanks, Baby to Baby ladies, for all your help today!

I have gone here for years. I used to adore this store and every time I went would purchase all sorts of fun items at great prices. Now this was when a perfectly good USED pair of pajamas cost me $6. Understandable. Now the prices are outrageous. Used shoes go for $20+ and pajamas cost more than I can purchase new. I saw a tricycle in there the other day for more than target sells new. This is a childs resale store. Where parents go to save a few bucks and still dress their kids in cute clothes. I will still consign my items there as my kids love to play in the store and the employee Sam is a real sweet heart who genuinely cares about others. But I will no longer purchase things there. Plenty of other consignment stores in portland have way better prices..... Or I will just go straight to an outlet mall.

I really love this place. We as a family watched a documentary, "The True Cost," and since it nearly wrecked any and all desire I have to shop for anything new, we are now trying to only buy used items and simply shop less. This store has an amazing selection and the staff is super friendly and they love your little kiddos. I have gotten our daughter two patagonia items that were in excellent condition. They also have Uggs, great snow boots, lots of clothing, great maternity clothes, and I even got our baby bjorn bouncer (They retail for $140) here for really inexpensive.
