Do not shop here!!! They are a joke! Horrible customer service from start to finish. My husband and I went in for three things and knew roughly where they were in the store. We got two of them and the third was out on the shelf, so we flagged down an employee who scanned it and said they had tons and to give him a minute or two to grab one. 15-20 minutes later, we flagged down someone else who said he didnt know anything about those items but he would try and find out who was helping us. 10 minutes go by and we are ready to walk out, but we asked one more person and she scanned the item and searched for them and finally found them, or at least we thought she had. We finally get up to the register and spend another 15 plus minutes waiting in line to get checked out. At this point, Im beyond frustrated and step outside while my husband checks out. We spent over an hour in this store for three items. Simply ridiculous. We get out to the car and my husband hands me the receipt and it was more than I was expecting, so I look it over and find out that the cashier double charged us. We are running late for something else, as we didnt expect to spend an hour in the store, so I call and tell the person who answered that we would be back on our way through town tonight. I look in the back seat and see that after all of that trouble, they didnt even get us the right item. After three people, all the waiting and trouble, we got the wrong product. We are both beyond frustrated at this point. We go back on our way home to get our refund and I tell the employee that we had a less than pleasant experience here today and he said "yeah, me too." Are you kidding me?!?! No "Im sorry that happened" absolutely no trying to make it right. He flat out blamed us for coming in during the busy time of the day. He said that if we had come in around the time we came back, we would have had good service. Im so pissed and in shock I cant even respond. I told him everything and not once did he even offer an apology for our poor experience. From start to finish, this place and the people were a joke. We will NEVER be back. Id love to talk to the manager, but I was told they are not available. Id recommend everyone goes ANYWHERE but this store.

I wish I knew the name of the middle aged woman I spoke with in customer "service" but I dont. I waited in line about 15 minutes without anyone making eye contact with me or acknowledging I was there. Then when I finally am helped she says "What do you want?" I worked customer service for years, and I would have had my a$$ handed to me if my attitude was ever that bad. I tell her I need advice about installing a portable AC unit in an odd window. Before I even finish asking my question she says "I cant help you with that. I dont know anything about that." Well duh. If shed let me finish I would have asked who/in what department could I find someone to help me. Of course her eventual answer is "go to plumbing." No "Ill have someone meet you in plumbing" or "let me call someone to help you with that." SO rude and so frustrating. I loath going to this Home Depot because I can NEVER find anyone to help me. Thats why I went to customer service in the first place! They either need to hire more people or retrain most of the current employees on asking if they can help you find something. Or just put a freaking map up. Id even be happy with that! Anyway, when I was finally able to track someone down (no thanks to customer service), he was friendly and able to answer my question , so at least there was that. Im a pretty patient person, but this place is on my last nerve!

Im currently remodeling my house & was planning to have HD do my entire remodel. I had the HD contractor come measure my kitchen & give me an estimate for cabinet installation - it was outrageous! DO NOT have Home Depot install your cabinets!!! Get on Angies List & find another contractor - so much cheaper! I received quotes on a couple different cabinets & was told the ones I wanted were on sale thru July 24. I called the store on July 22 to purchase. I talked to Tom in the kitchen/appliance section and he has the worst customer service skills ever!! He told me the sale ended the day before, and that I couldnt get my cabinets for sale price. When I told him Id have a different store (not HD) remodel my entire house if I couldnt get sale price, he just said ok. After that, I called the manager & he gave me the sale price. Customer service is very hit or miss here. Id go somewhere else if it wasnt so close. DO NOT work with Tom in the kitchen/appliance section unless you want someone who really doesnt care about you or your needs.

Last night, we were in fear of our lives. we went to home depot to buy all new outside locks, and Gary in the key dept told us if we could bring in our locks he would re key them free of charge! He saved us so much money, and I was able to feel safe and sleep! Fells great knowing there are companies that are willing to help people and not worry all the time about the almighty dollar! You have made lifetime customers out of us, and we will pass on the good deed! thanks Gary and Oregon City Home Depot! Had to go back forgot a lock, the person working today (long frizzy hair) was rude. I talked to customer service and they were so awesome! George swooped in and saved the day immediately! They even tried to give us some free candy for our trouble. gotta love that! They care! Thank u!

Do not shop at this Home Depot. I have a large home and I own 41 units (duplexes, homes, apartments, etc). I spend thousands every year at Home Depot. I go to return about a hundred dollars worth of stuff and the staff give me a lot of grief over small stuff. Recently, my credit cards have been changed over to chips so I can not access my purchases through the credit card. Also, I have already given my receipts to my accountant so do not have them on hand. With someone who spends thousands, why would they risk driving me away. Slowly, Ive been shopping at Lowes (near 82nd) more and more frequently. I find that I get the best service there and the Home Depot on Johnson Creek. Avoid Oregon City and Troutdale if you do not like bad customer service.

Normally Home Depot tool rental service is efficient, helpful, and knowledgeable. However today I had a poor experience with the SE Portland Home Depot Rental department. When calling to confirm they had a major piece of equipment available I was told it was there and they would hold it 30 minutes for my drive time. I drove 23 miles across town to pick up the unit. When I arrived the equipment was not there and obviously hadnt been there when I originally called. Unusual for most Home Depots, but this time it was disappointing and a large waste of time.
