Doctor and staff are great; no complaints there. They do appear to really care about how they treat their patients, and I sincerely appreciate their efforts. Their equipment and test techniques seem to be top notch, and I have no issues with their credibility, or ability to provide competent ocular care. BUT...this a is big one...I cannot endorse their eyeglass dispensing services. Again, the customer care is fine...but the "glasses" part has been a big hassle for me. The first pair ordered was riddled with quality issues in both the frames and lenses. Fortunately, they caught the errors and returned them to be re-made. The second pair arrived days late. I needed the glasses for a trip to sunnier climes (Transitions), and they literally arrived as I was leaving for the airport which left no time for careful inspection by them or me. I grabbed them and headed for PDX. During the trip, I attempted to clean them. I saw stuff clinging to the lenses, and what appeared to be a small scratch in my line of vision. Turns out, the lenses had tiny clear "bumps" on them that were part of the lens. The scratch I saw is actually a number etched into the lens. Im nearly 60 and Ive worn glasses since I was a toddler. Ive never experienced poor lens quality...ever...until now. Were now on "round three," and Sunnyside is more than willing to do everything they can to get it right. Again, customer service has not been an issue. But, for glasses that cost over $400.00 this should not be happening. Not when Ive waited over 5 weeks for them, and they are still not correct. Part of my disappointment has to do with the fact that when I was "between" insurance coverage (ie unemployed) I ordered glasses from an online optical company 3 separate times. In all three instances, my glasses arrived within 10 days of my order, good quality, in perfect condition, correct prescription, for a 10th of what these locally purchased ones cost. I will go back to Sunnyside for my eye exams, but Ill also think long and hard before I order glasses from them again.

Routine visit with a pleasant optometrist. However the service is poor at best. At the one visit the reception was cold (just as they were opening so perhaps they had not yet warmed-up). I ordered new glasses that were to take a week to a week-and-a-half. Having not heard back after two weeks I called to check on them. The call included waiting on hold for about five minutes and then being disconnected and having to call back. After finally reaching someone willing/able to answer the question of where the glasses might be in the process, I was informed that there was a problem and that they required another week before the glasses would be ready. A week-and-a-half later I had not heard from them so I called again. I called at 4:55 and was on hold for ten minutes at which point I was transferred to a message indicating that they had closed and would need to call back the following day. On the following day I called again. This time I was told that the glasses would not be ready for yet another week. I dont mind the delays but the lack of notification and challenges in reaching out to them will keep me from returning. Welcoming people and answering the phone with consideration to the needs of the patients are earmarks of quality care. Without this I am very suspect of what kind of service happens behind the scenes. cold service - frequent problems resulting in delays - no notification of delays - seemingly little interest in engaging with patients beyond diagnosis and collecting payment.

DISHONEST, DECEPTIVE, and UNETHICAL! This business tried to tell me that because my prescription was near to expiration, I had no choice but to come in for an exam (over $300) because they couldnt "legally" allow me to purchase a years worth of contacts because it is Oregon "LAW"... There is absolutely no such "law"! You can literally purchase your prescription right up to the day it expires. I spoke to multiple employees. They all lied to me and tried to force me to pay over $300 more for a service I dont need. I ordered a years worth of contacts just fine from another clinic in N Portland and for far less money too I might add, without being brow beaten into an over priced eye exam or being lied to about my rights as a patient. My response to companies response: There was no misunderstanding. Your company lied and I caught you in the act of it. Your "policy" is not a LAW. You did not say "our policy is"... you said "it is Oregon LAW". Dishonest, unethical, and deceptive.

I have availed the services of this place ever since the Berks purchased this practice from the previous owner who retired. Dr. Ann has provided me excellent care over close to thirty years. Her previous and current staff is friendly and professional. About three years ago I had to get cataract surgery and discussed my options with Dr. Ann and had the surgery done. I have been following my yearly exam with the surgeon now. After trying different places to get my old glasses adjusted, with little success, I stopped by this place again. Kendy, who I knew from her previous work place, made them comfortable again. No pain, no pinching. It was time to get new glasses anyway and she found me a perfect pair and fitted them nicely. The place is immaculate and has a great selection of frames and lenses. You may pay a little more then the chain stores but it will be worth your while.

Vision Source is a terrible optometry office that has salesmen rather than doctors. They continuously pushed 350$ frames when I told them repeatedly that they were way over my budget. They also told me that a certain photo of my eye would cost an extra $10-15 after my insurance covered most of it. So I assumed that they werent lying, but when I got the final bill, it was for $75. The frames were completely covered by my insurance so the only thing that they charged me for was the service. They will lie and scam their way into getting your money. This is not a trustworthy place and they clearly have the main intention of making as much money as possible rather than ACTUALLY helping you.

This is a great place to buy glasses and get an eye exam! I looked at a half dozen opticians before discovering Sunnyside Vision Source. They have friendly people, very knowledgeable opticians and optometrists, and a selection of frames that I liked. I bought a pair of progressives in a rimless frame, and have never been happier. During the exam Dr. Berk was very patient and took the time to answer my questions in detail. Im a picky patient, and theyve made me very happy!

Dr. Nancy is amazing with our 6 year old. She is so good in fact, when our insurance changed and this location was not covered, we considered paying out of pocket just to stay with Dr. Nancy. Luckily, our insurance changed again and we were able to keep going there. Our daughter is extremely shy and mid visit she is smiling and laughing. Dr Nancy is so approachable and friendly. We would recommend her to anyone with kids. We are so grateful we found her.

I have had multiple experiences at Sunnyside Vision Source and all of them have been positive. I am a new patient at this clinic with amazingly bad eye sight and they have made the transition from soft contact lenses to hard contacts as pleasant as possible. I also got my glasses through them and not only were they reasonably priced, but they work well AND fit well. The staff is friendly and helpful as well! Highly recommended!!!!
