This review is long overdue, because I meant to do it when I got my most recent tattoo here in April. Brian Harley is a great tattoo artist, and so far Ive gotten 4 tattoos from him (one was a cover-up though). I continued to use this shop because hes a highly skilled artist, hes easy to work with, trustworthy (or else I wouldnt have returned!), and I find his pricing to be very fair. If I still lived in NE Ohio, I would use this shop exclusively. I think he can do piercings too if youre looking for that; I dont remember now. The shop is small, and its clean and sanitary; nothing to worry about in that department. Hes also a veteran tattoo artist, so you dont have to worry about walking away with a tattoo thats scarred, blurred, or etc. At this shop, it really is all about "Custom Tattoos." I myself have zero artistic ability, so it definitely helps me out that I can show up with a handful of reference images and a detailed idea and Brian will listen to that, consider what youre saying, and create a drawing. One important thing I guess is that because hes an artist, he understands things like shading and perspective that I dont, so he will tell you which aspects of your idea or drawing wont work well in a tattoo format, and for what artistic reasons. If I had to think of one gripe, it would be the location -- this shop is deep in the far east. It takes awhile to get there, but honestly now, its not like youre going to be commuting to get a tattoo every weekday at 8 AM -- you can plan your time and make the trip.

Ive been to Bryans shop, Cruel Vice Custom Tattoo, twice to have work done and several times with others getting work. Every time I do I am impressed with how clean he keeps it. His work is second to none. This isnt a place where you go and pick a tattoo off the wall. Bryan is an artist and makes a drawling just for you based on the styles of art you like and the type of tattoo you want. He is very creative and versatile. He has a great sense of humor and is entertaining.

Bryon is a talented artist who gives guidance and creative recommendations to create a piece that is meant just for you. He is thoughtful and friendly. His shop is very clean and inviting. Have gone to Bryan for my last two ink sessions and he is by far the best artist Ive had so far and a guy I trust to get what I want done with his artistic influence added in. Kicking it watching Nostradamus specials is an added bonus at the shop but the guy is legit and if I need work done I come home to DTW to get it done at Cruel Vice versus working with a local shop in the city I live in.

Bryan is the best around! I searched for a long time to find a tattoo artist that i thought could pull what i wanted out of my head and bring it to life, and thats exactly what Bryan does. As others have said, his shop is always clean, he is a funny and personable guy, and the price is better than fair. Ill keep driving an hour and a half to see him, because it is worth it every time.

Bryan did a custom celtic cross with my kids names about 3 years ago. I STILL get compliments on it, and specifically on its quality from other inked up folks who understand great work when they see it. He REALLY loves what he does, and proves it with his skill and attention to detail. I will only go back to Cruel Vice to feed my ink addiction.

He managed to do a kickass cover up skull on my finger- with the cleanest lines and most amazing shading, you have no idea it was a cover up.
