My boyfriend and I live in South Carolina and were planning a weekend trip down to Florida specifically to go to this tattoo shop. We wanted to come down the end of August (we contacted them in March). I wanted Barythaya to do my work and my boyfriend wanted Fame. Barythaya got back to me and kept in contact a few days after I reached out to her. Since Barythaya and I had already spoken to each other, we were waiting on Fame to contact us. Fame never got in touch with my boyfriend. He tried emailing Fame directly, tried calling the shop a few times (speaking to a receptionist and another worker there) and eventually got frustrated and emailed the shop directly trying to get in touch with management (admittedly a little irritated, but definitely not acting unreasonable.. hed been trying to contact Fame for nearly a month by this point). My boyfriend and I were both getting anxious. Although we were calling months in advance, we were trying to get this trip sorted out. Booking a hotel, booking a rental car, figuring out budgets since the shop doesnt give quotes online/over the phone (not a ginormous deal, Barythaya let me know she charged $120 an hour and I felt her work was well worth that). Fame was still nowhere to be found, and we had no idea if our trip or these tattoos were happening. We didnt know times, we didnt know if Fame was aware of my boyfriend trying to book with him.. Nothing. We wound up being told some while later that Fame was on vacation and hed be back in on a certain day and would contact us then. The day he was back, we werent contacted. We left it be since we wanted to give him time to get settled back in after his vacation. A few days passed by, still no word. My boyfriend reached out to management at the shop, asking if it normally took a month for an artist to get in touch with clients. They simply replied no. Fame finally got in touch. He apologized & let my boyfriend know hed be calling him at 1:00. We felt relieved. But. We never got a call. We waited a day. No call that next day, either. My boyfriend was upset and had every right to be. We were being completely left in the dark, trying to plan this over 6 hour drive to Florida to get our tattoos done. My boyfriend reached out to the shop again & said he didnt feel that the shop should have his deposit of $105 dollars (I told my boyfriend giving him a deposit when he wasnt responding was a mistake.. But he felt like it might get Fames attention and get him a response) if his artist wasnt going to be contacting him. We were very soon after greeted with an email of a screenshot from Fame letting my boyfriend know he refunded the deposit. We were angry, confused, and offended. If he could reply so quickly with a screenshot of a refund, why wasnt he able to shoot us a quick email to let us know what was going on when hed be able to contact us? Its unfortunate that because of Fame, we decided to go to BANGBANG in NYC instead of Fallen Sparrow. Wed rather spend more money on artists that respond appropriately to out of state clients than not be answered for a month on a long distance trip were trying to plan. BANGBANG gives quotes over the phone/through email & send your sketch to you through email as well. Being that were out of town, thats a HUGE help. Something that would have been great if Fallen Sparrow did. (Im an artist myself and understand copyright issues.. Even a rough sketch with a large watermark would be great, just to see our ideas in the artists work) Of course like I said earlier, though, that wasnt my biggest problem with the shop. We were extremely bummed not to be able to go to Fallen Sparrow, but things definitely happen for a reason. I dont recommend that anyone from out of town goes to see Fame. He truly makes your shop look unprofessional.

I have two different reviews and you will see why I gave this place 2 stars. Chi-Roc Sam was the artist that tattooed me. The first tattoo I got there was great, great detail and the prize was fair. I decided to get another tattoo and booked it a month earlier with Sam. We agreed on the prize and booked it for August 4th at 1 pm. So I get there at 1pm and Sam was eating and not ready. By 1:40 he shows me the tattooed he traced and I reminded him that I had asked for it to be a little bigger. He says fine, he goes to the back and when the girl asks me to pay, she tells me that it was going to be 50 dollars extra because I wanted it bigger. I told her that a month ago I had told him about the size and we agreed on the prize, I didnt argue and payed the extra 50. Its now 2:30 pm and iam still waiting. My patience was gone and I asked for my money back. My appointment was at 1 pm and 2:30 pm iam still waiting, and had to pay an extra 50 dollars. Sam is a great artist but needs to get his act together, he had a month to get the tattoo ready, and he didnt. Iam glad now i didnt get it because I went somewhere else that same day and this guy named Jason, did a perfect job, detailed it better than what Sam had shown me.

Woke up the morning after my tattoo with a staff infection, told them about it and they apologized and said next Im in the area that they would repair my tattoo if its been compromised and made notes in my file. I healed up from the infection and the tattoo was severely compromised. I spoke with the management and the artist as well as sent them photos of the tattoo 6 months later and told them that Ill be in the area in another 4 months and they said that would be fine and to give them a weeks notice and they will get me in and repair the tattoo for free. I went there when I was back in town to show them the tattoo and book my appointment and they said the artist who did the tattoo no longer works there and they would not repair the tattoo unless I pay again to have it done. The thing that burns my butt about them not willing to repair the tattoo is I paid Fallen Sparrow for my tattoo, not the artist, as well all the paper work that I signed upon getting my tattoo was Fallen Sparrows paper work not the artists. So in the end after a week of intervenes antibiotics and 4 weeks of oral antibiotics I sat in a chair for 4.5 hours at another tattoo parlor and paid to have my tattoo repaired.

I went in on a Tuesday, spoke with guy named Ryan to give me pricing/information. He was quite friendly, answered all my questions (I had lots, it was going to be my first tattoo), and had me look at the artists portfolios. I selected an artist (based on his work alone) and it turned out he had done previous tattoo of same lettering I wanted. I left a deposit, and made appointment for Friday night. Well when I came back friday, it seemed that Ryan dropped the ball and my artist (Chi-Roc) had NO idea I was coming. But I picked the best artist, because Sammy quickly did up the work I needed, and was tattooing me for the first time in my life in 20 mins. He did AWESOME work, and Im loving it. He was so good, I wont let anyone else tattoo me ever except him. (I live 1300 miles away).. The place was clean and friendly, and I was going to give Very Good rating for Service (because of Ryan), but I cant do it. The service was more than Excellent on Friday. Thanks again Sammy Chicago (Chi-Roc) for the best experience Ill never forget.
