Would have rated a 5 star had we originally started the process with Junior. He is a great artist, highly professional, ran with the concepts we came up with and designed something that looked awesome and would work. However when we first went to the studio we were greeted by Rafi who was unprofessional and as we were explaining our concepts he seemed disinterested and made us write down notes ourselves of what we wanted. He then said we would design it. After a week we went back to check on the design, two days ahead of the appointment. He had completely forgotten about it and told us this to our faces, he then said he will design it by the next night, upon returning the night after (one night before our appointment) not only was he not there but he hadnt designed it. It was at this point that Junior took us on having watched us come in several times he apologised on behalf of Rafi and talked to us about our concepts again. He really showed an interest and made us feel comfortable with him. We returned the next night for our appointments and really loved his designs. It is such a shame we didnt start off with him. Read multiple reviews about this place and they seem to be at both extremes either "Amazing" or "Unprofessional" and what I have concluded is it depends who you get. Go in and talk to the artists, keep checking on their designing progress and if they are acting disinterested, they probably are.

I wanted to take my sister and I to get piercings done. Of course we had to get notarized since she is just under eighteen. We told the staff we will be back. After getting it done, they DECIDED to then tell us they are out of rings (such a waste). After driving around to get this notarized and told that its undetermined WHEN they will have more rings in stock, we were recommended to go to another tattoo shop, that they will accept our Notatrization. The second shop tells us to get another one because it has a different shop name. Waste of my 24 hours... I go BACK to the shop and was told that they will "try." I demanded my money back. After constantly complaining, the man who claimed to be the owner just tossed the money I paid for the notarziation and told me he had "work to do." Well, the "owner" should reconsider and relearn better customer service skills. I have had better artists work on my tattoos with a much my pleasant attitude. I should have gone to the shops downtown... On top of that my sister is so disappointed and upset. Thanks "Owner." Such ROTTEN attitudes. Never had I ever had anyone give such poor customer service. It was like pulling teeth to arrange a time and get answers to what I wanted to be done with this staff. I will take my money elsewhere. Im glad I didnt allow them to taint my skin.

I set up an appointment for my tattoo two weeks prior. I brought in the art I wanted for my custom tattoo. When I came back into the shop for my appointment, Jeremy, who was suppose to do my tattoo, was out on a lunch break. I sat there for about 30 minutes and then after he returned I sat there for an additional 20 minutes while he quickly sketched out my tattoo, even though I had given him the art nearly 2 weeks before. That should have been a red flag telling me that Jeremy is not professional and I should leave the shop. However, I didnt and was quite pleased with the work he did. My tattoo looked really nice for about a week, but then little pieces of ink started to come off. I know the natural healing process of a tattoo, and this is not it. Im assuming Jeremy didnt tattoo deep enough into my skin, but literally only "scratched the surface"...I now have to pay another artist $50 to touch up my tattoo after I payed $160 for my tattoo. I do NOT recommend going to Scratch the Surface. They are not professional and basically ruined my tattoo.

I went here to get a tattoo, the day I had to return from vacation, to create a memory of the adventures I had there. I walked in and was greeted by Paulo. I went in only just wanting an outline of a shark on my arm. But he got me to change my mind and to add detail to the shark. The tattoo experience was terrific. He knew right where I wanted it, followed the picture I brought in, made sure I was comfortable during the tattooing, and it turned out bad a**. There was absolutely nothing negative about my experience. Everything in the store was clean and the music was awesome. When I go back to Orlando, I am definitely going to go back there again

is the guy who did my two nipple piercings about a week ago. The shop was very clean and didnt have loud heavy metal death music playing like a lot of the other body piercing and tattoo shops i have been to. Very professional on the phone and in person. Prices very reasonable nothing ridiculous. Zack didnt recommend buying any of the products that they had for sale in the shop though so I dont know if he didnt think they were necessary or what. It was quick and everything went how it should go and I LOVED IT. I will be going back to get another piercing in about a month after I am healed enough to handle it!

Spent a week in Orlando for our honeymoon and decided to get tattoos. After searching for a while we walked into Scratch The Surface. We were immediately greeted by Ramon. He spent a short amount of time drawing up exactly what we wanted. The tattoos look great and the price was very fair. All of the associates were professional and the equipment was top notch. We were shown all of the per packaged needles and all the sterilization was done while we watched. I was very impressed. If I didnt live 1000 miles away, Id come back here for more work.

Pricing ended up being good for a helix piercing and an upper lobe on each ear (3 total) except when I got in the chair my piercer thought that I was adjusting the placement on my original two piercings I got done around the age of 6 or 7. There was a communication barrier which I wouldnt expect to happen because as a piercer you should know that it is important to the client that what they want is what they get. Overall, the employees were nice but I didnt sense a lot of professionalism.

My first trip to Orlando i had a clear design in mind. I did some research as to the best tattoo shop in the area and was recomended scratch the surface also. Im quite picky when it comes to my body art and wont let any cheap tattooist near me. I believe to get the best you have to pay more...i wasnt disappointed. Steven was my artist and his work did not disapoint. He was thoughrough and friendly and the work he did on my tattoo is phenomenal. I would recommend to anyone!
