During my original visit with this doctor, he prescribed me contacts without any sort of trial period to ensure they were correct. I had been wearing glasses for quite some time prior to this visit and therefore did not have any information as to the contacts that I wore. I began experiencing issues with the contacts several weeks after ordering a years supply. When I went back to explain the issues I was having such as tearing and double vision, they made me take another eye exam and made me pay full price, even though the problem was just the wrong type of contacts. I have talked to the manager to get the contacts refunded and order new ones, but still two weeks later, this problem has gone unresolved. During the follow up visit for the trial of the new contacts, Dr. Ernest Spohn essentially told me that because he was an independent contractor, there is no one that I can report this issue to. He told me to "suck it up" and that I was "lucky I had insurance now or it would have cost me more". I asked for a refund for the second visit since it wasnt my fault and he said "no, you have to pay for my time no matter what." As a Chinese woman, I feel this doctor has taken advantage of my poor English skills and assumed that since I am a foreign woman, I dont realize that what he is doing is wrong. I will try to resolve the issue once more with the manager within several days, and rest assured, this will be the last time I do business with Dr. Ernest Spohn.

When you go to an eye doctor its one of those places that should be given is a clean environment. Not this place. They didnt clean a single instrument they use to take eye exams. I noticed about halfway through the exam in the dark room where I could see the oil from the previous users face all over the machine. I refused. It was disgusting. Im now worried Ill get pink eye or something from it. The doctor is plenty nice enough but when you have people going in and out every day, all day, its a sanitary hazard not to clean the instruments. ANY eye doctor Ive ever been to clean them right in front of you- before and after you use them. Twice- right then and there with every patient. The way it should be.
