Purchased a Yard Machine push mower here, got it home and it wouldnt start. We followed the instructions, used the correct fuel, checked the oil and filled appropriately to the fill line. The mower never turned over. Tried to return it two days later and was told "once it has gas in it, it can not be returned". They tried to send me to the repair department. I was attempting to make this return on my lunch break, so I did not have time to wait for the repair, nor did I want the mower any longer. Any mower that requires a repair before the first use is a mower I would rather exchange. I explained that I would take a store credit but wanted a different mower. They wouldnt even exchange it or offer a store credit. Additionally, the woman working customer service was extremely rude. So rude that two of the people in line commented on it. One lady turned to me and said "this would not have happened at Lowes or Home Depot..." She was right. I asked to speak to a manager. A manager appeared at the customer service desk and proceeded to ask me the same question the first person asked; "is there gas in it?". What a stupid question. How would anybody know their mower doesnt work if they never put gas in it? I tld the manager if he didnt at least offer a store exchange, I was going to "destroy Menards in customer reviews". He proceeded to lose his mind and started yelling that I threatened him and he was calling the police. I was dumbfounded by this mans response. He acted as if I put a gun to his face and told him I was going to kill him. He said he was calling the police and then scurried off... lol I just left the mower there. Apparently Menards needs the $150 bucks more than I do. Ill never spend another penny in this store again. The customer service is a complete joke. Ive noticed the poor customer service before, but it was tolerable enough to deal with it. There is a Menards location literally a quarter mile from my house, so its the most convenient option. But after dealing with this clown show, Ill take my business across town to Home Depot. This never would have happened there. Places like Home Depot and Lowes are successful enough to absorb a $150.00 mower in the name of good customer service. I guess the two lessons learned here are 1.) always lie about why you are returning an item at Menards and 2.) Dont shop at Menards. Shop at the big name suppliers. They are big name for a reason.

Brought in paint to match a color for 2 gallons of paint which was turned out to be 2 mismatched gallons of paint. After paying $100 in labor to paint, I was left with discolored walls (see photo). I returned to the store and was told that I needed to bring back in the empty cans to get replacement paint. Jordan in paint acknowledged the mistake was Menards fault and that they would replace the paint. After my 3rd trip (40 mins) to the store, I asked what could be done about the $100 of labor I had paid and will have to repay to have the walls painted again. Jordan (manager in paint) said there was nothing he could do for me. I didnt expect to be refunded $100 plus 2 extra trips to the store, but a $50 courtesy gift card or even discount off my next purchase would have been appreciated from a customer perspective. I usually have good experiences at Menards but this one particular employee just left a bad taste in my mouth and I will not be going back.

Father in law had been to this store more that 5 times to try to correct an order he had placed.got the the store one time to pick up some metal roofing. It took him more than 3 and a half hours to get what he had paid for to get there and have to locate and get his own order together and loaded up by himself. Got home and the screws were the wrong color and not to mention it was 60 mile round trip. When we got there they had the correct order finally but had given us someone elses receipts that confused the customer service so bad they had to call the same manager we talked to on the phone back to the front desk just to confirm again. The stores main problem right now is that it has a bunch of incompetent people that work there that have little to no work experience with the product that is being sold there even though someone with basic common sense could pick up and Excell at this job within a couple weeks of working there.

I placed a special order for some siding and 2 weeks later got an email that it was in and ready for pick up. We got a truck and went to pick it up about 10 days after receiving the email. Got to the store and the staff spent 90 minutes looking for it while we waited in the truck. We were finally told that they would have to reorder it and theyd put a rush on it. A week later I get an email that the order is in and ready for pick up. We again got a truck and went the next day to pick it up. Again, the staff spent over an hour looking for it and we were told they couldnt locate it. We asked to speak to a manager and were told that no one was there that day. All this after Ive paid for the product and the end gable of my home has been open to the elements for over a month. Ridiculous. Out $116 in product, who knows how much in lost energy costs, 6 hours of my time and no solution offered. Absolutely disgusted.

Will never give my business to Menards in Landen, Oh ever again. We have spent copious amounts of money at this store and every time they mess something up. Every single time. Went to pick up various sizes of cedar tonight. Was told to drive around and pick them up. When we got back there realized they did not have one item we purchased, even though the salesman said they were all in stock. Went to the front desk to receive a refund and after waiting 15 minutes to speak to a manager ended up leaving without being able to voice out complaint. We then had to wait on yet another manager in order to finally get our money back. That manager didnt even speak to us, never did we receive an apology for the huge inconvenience to begin with.

If you want to do a big project do not shop at the Menards in Loveland or try to deal with the manager there. We spent over $8000.00 on a garage kit and have had nothing but headaches! The delivery date was supposed to be 5/12 and we finally received the trusses today! Then they are the wrong size. Went to the store to talk to them and got nowhere. Told us we could do it but of course need more material and a lot more time to do it! Paid $500.00 for the kit directions which are incorrect and they see no problem with us just figuring it out! Such s very bad experience! We will not ever shop with this company ever again! If I could give it lower that a one I would!
