VERY BAD EXPERIENCE!!! My husband and I purchased a 2011 Ford F350 from Bob-Boyd on 11/22/16. It was a used vehicle, however, per the sales man they had checked this truck over thoroughly and everything worked. We explained the reason we wanted this type of truck was to pull a 5th wheel camper. We went to pick it up (we were trading another vehicle in on it) and when we were bringing it home the engine light came on. We called the dealership back the next morning as it was late when we left to tell them about the engine light and they told us to take it to Advance or an auto place that could put a tester on it. When we took it to Advance the tester indicated it was P0401 error code (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected). Well, we called the dealership/service dept and explained the problem and they told us to bring it in. We did just that and they also received the same error. I believe this light was turned off prior to putting it on the lot to sale. Per, the service guy they would fix it but it would be a week & 1/2. While we were there talking to the service guy the Owner Bobby Dawes walked up and begin saying we bought the truck "As Is" and it wouldnt be covered. I said that per the Car Fax report this problem existed prior to our getting it. When he approached us he was very rude and obviously un-informed. They agreed to fix it. They told us to continue driving the truck and return it for repair. So, we took the truck to pick up our camper a couple days later only to find that the mirror on the passenger side would not extend as it should to see behind the camper properly. When were took the truck in for the other repair, my husband asked if they could fix the mirror ( it obviously didnt work when we picked up the truck). When they were finished with the truck the service guy called and said it was done but they would not be repairing the mirror. Well to shorten this complaint, the owner called us and said he would fix it but we would need to pay $500 toward the repair. He further explained that they had already spent over a $1000 on a repair for us (no it was his repair). We refused to do so, since we were told by our sales man that EVERYTHING on it worked per their inspection. The Owner was the rudest person I have ever done business with. BUYER BEWARE!!! MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING ON ANY VEHICLE YOU BUY THERE. This was our first and last time doing business with Bob-Boyd Ford.

Decided to stop at their oil change facility because I was on that side of town and the facility I usually go to was clear across town. I learned this was a big mistake, first off I was charged $60 for a conventional oil change, mind you this was NOT synthetic oil, this was the conventional oil change that you can normally get elsewhere for around $20, no idea why the price was this high for a 4 cylinder car and I shouldve argued it but the service was already done so I figured there was not much I could do. For this $60 oil change I got oil leaked onto the undercover of my car under the engine bay, because of this my usual go to oil change facility could not change my oil for fear that the threads where the oil filter screws onto were stripped and it would be a liability issue. This was the only time I had an issue and my car is a newer model 2011 car, so I knew it was something that Bob Boyds facility had done. So I had to take it to my mechanic to have it checked and have the oil changed there, luckily there was no issue, so either the tech did not clean up around the new filter and allowed remaining oil to drip on my cover or the filter was not screwed on all the way, regardless I was a half a quart low on oil and my car does not burn/use any oil in between changes so your guess is as good as mine. They may not have filled it completely to the full level with oil or some may have leaked from the filter. Also they filled my windshield washer fluid with probably the cheapest option available because it is now frozen. Now hopefully one of the lines or the fluid reservoir does not break. For my $60 conventional oil change, you would think they could at least clean up their mess and use a little higher quality windshield washer fluid. Also I waited around an hour and a half for the oil change, then had to deal with the hassle afterwards. For such a "respectable" large dealership, youd definitely expect better and the price was absolutely ridiculous. I will not be bringing any of my vehicles here to have them serviced again.

Overall my experience was good. The person that checked me in was upfront about the cost with the exception of the charge for the misc supplies. There were two different charges for the oil change. I declined the DEF so I was charged the lesser amount. Which was correct. I was told it would be about 2 hours to do all the services that I wanted to be done. It was just about 2 hours when I got my truck back. The two issues I have is the amount charged for the fuel filters and the installation of them $181.00 total cost for the fuel filters.I can get OEM Motorcraft filters for $57.65 with tax and shipping included. I realize the pressure on the fuel system has to be released and re primed after the installation is done. That $57.65 is my retail cost NOT a wholesale cost. I just think 123.00 (or more my retail verses your wholesale cost) is really steep for what time it takes to install fuel filters. The other issue is the cost of the oil change when you add the misc supply charge into the equation. I have had other dealerships do this service for me. Yes their charge is a little higher than Bob Boyd but they do not have a misc supply charge. My thought is by advertising a lower cost then adding a misc supply charge and NOT telling the customer about it, is a bait and switch technique which isnt a good way to business. Will I be back? If I can find a ASE certified mechanic that will do the work for a competitive cost, no.

Was looking for a Mustang with certain options within 1 state of my location (NY) to take advantage of 0%, $1k cash back offer. Found one that meet my criteria @ Bob Boyd Ford. Called to check availability of car that was on their site. Talked to salesman Jason. Very friendly & prompt to my questions & concerns. Held vehicle for me till I got there in a few days. He did everything I had requested via texts & checked in on my trip as well. Met on Saturday morning, test drove, discussed vehicle & purchased all within 2 hours. Jason & finance person was courteous & very knowledgeable about vehicle & whole process. They both answered all my questions about car purchase & if they didnt know they found out right away. No high pressure sales tactics, just an honest, down to earth car purchase. By far the easiest car buying experience I have ever had. I only wish that I lived closer so I could buy all my future Ford vehicles from this dealership. Excellent job done the right way. Bob Boyds business practices should be the standard that all others dealerships follow. Thanks for a pleasant experience. Jason said he was just doing his job but more often than not you get the opposite. Thanks for the way you treat your customers. Jay M.
