"The Exchange " as an entity is a pretty decent store. It does have and may carry hard to find items.... but some are RIDICULOUSLY priced. Their selection of dvds, blu-rays, video games, vinyl records, etc are vast but LIMITED. Mentioned prior, OVERPRICED ITEMS due to reasons of the companys own (theyll say or mention their reasoning upon request) and their staff range from the kid next door to the burn out young adult living in his parents basement, to the metel head. As far as the CLEAN CUT professional who is properly punctual...... Ive yet to see; being a Lakewood resident all my life. In saying so, these personalities may conflict with certain calibers/classes of customers that may be paying patrons within. Here is an example of one of the worst visit and final visit to the store and I shall be breif. I once entered the store with my 14 year old son for a return/exchange; they (cashiers) didnt realize I was standing right behind him. The cashier was utterly rude too my son, who is very well mannered and respectful. It began with, "what do you need kid?" After hearing a few more of the cashiers lude and non professional customer service attempts, I stepped in. "Why yes, my son has a return. He would like to possibly exchange this item for another item of its value". There was no apology to him or I. We just received cold, short and very brief service. It recalled to me that my trips to the store recently, had been unpleasant and been serviced by an array of unprofessional/rude store clerks. Any other establishment would try to make a customer or potential customer feel as though the are well welcomed. "The Exchange" fails at this. In short, with the RIDICULOUSLY PRICED ITEMS (there are some great items to find at ok prices) and HAGGARD CUSTOMER SERVICE, I would most likely not return or recommend this franchise store to my family or friends.

I was there to trade my entire collection of M*A*S*H which I know I have kept very well and clean. When called up to the counter they offered me only about $21 in cash. This was insulting to me first of all because it was all 11 seasons plus two of the movies which in store they sell anywhere from $14-$18 a season. Like I said they are in very good condition. Then I told the cashier that I would rather keep them. He said what were you looking to make on them. I told him I planned on way more than that. He told me "well that doesnt help me. How much did you want" . I told him my expectation of at least $75 because Ive seen whole collections sell for around $150. And he said very rudely "well good luck with that." Honestly no matter what prices I wouldve told him he wouldnt have matched it anyway so I dont see the point in my being forced to share how much. Very rude. Ill never be back.

Very standard CD Game Exchange fair, however I purchased three Dualshock4 controllers at separate intervals within the past year, and they have all died. Maybe my ignorance got the better of me, but their refusal to recall the purchase receipts has left me with a bitter taste. Because of this, I am out $200, and cannot send the controllers back to Sony under warranty. A fine place to purchase games, but avoid the (new) hardware, unless you absolutely understand that the receipt they hand you is the only proof of purchase youll ever get.

Way overpriced!!!!! and Im pretty sure a crack head could offer more than what they do. Your better off throwing your items in the trash!! Because to them...thats exactly what it is. I took 5 games in,each worth $40-45 and all were in mint condition (Rare dream cast games ) the girl with the LISP offered $17..... I said $17.....she said well how much were you thinking? Because each are worth $6. Lol.....They assume everyone in Lakewood is a 12 year old kid......STAY AWAY

I went to this store today with my sons & dealt with racism for the second time. The first time I thought maybe this one individual had a problem but the second time today, I was mistreated by the same person with the other employees ignoring his behavior. My family & I will NEVER patronize this store again. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE & VERY DISRESPECTFUL!

Great store, definitely plan on going agian only issue is they dont test their controllers thoroughly and ended up buying a bummed Xbox one controller hopefully they will do an exchange on the controller still have the receipt and tag for it. And its a 3mile, but it was worth the effort because they gave amazing credit for my used items

I go here pretty much exclusively for my video games. Once, i bought a game for 12 bucks, and when i wanted to trade it in, they took it for 9 bucks in store credit. And a guy there gave me a game for free on christmas. This store is all around awesome.

Best place to go for games and if you dont want it or yours didnt work between the 30 day period you may return for another version of the game or exchange it for something of equal value. Best place to get games. Im very satisfied with this place

I like this store. The service is friendly, and the selection is diverse. It seems they price match with ebay, which is reasonable to me. When Im feeling nostalgic, Ill drop in and pick up an old game.

THEY HAVE ALOT OF ITEMS GAMES, CD, RECORDS ETC. THEY ARE FRIENDLY HOWEVER THE STORE IS SMALL AND WHEN YOU WANT TO TRADE OR SELL ITEMS THEY LOW BALL YOU ON THE PRICE THEY OFFER.

The staff is rude and nasty they are also dirty looking .the used garbage they sell is overpriced .the customers are stoned idiots and weirdos .this place is a dump!

They dont let you return merchandise even after telling you when you buy it you can return it. If you dont want to keep it dont buy it and hope it works!!

GREAT PLACE. Very clean shop with TONS of CDs, DVDs, GAMES and Records (LPs). Staff was VERY friendly, helpful and polite. I will be a regular customer.
