Hardware Exchange takes you back to a better time in every way by every measure. You need two stainless steel oval head screws of a certain size and length? Got em. And buy what you need by the piece at a fair price, whatever it is. Not the illusion of economy. Not a bubble pack of five bolts and a compatible bubble pack of three nuts, and then a bubble pack of 6 lock washers. Bulk nails and screws of every useful kind and size, by the nail, by the ounce, by the pound. Grass seed by the scoop. Copper tube or pipe cut to length. Electrical wire, chain, etc. and so forth, by the foot, by the coil. All quality stuff, all American made when mfr. available. Wooden floors, ceiling fans and a knowledgeable, experienced, veteran staff rather than a sales staff. Anything and everything a hardware store should be. Hardware Exchange is a valuable community resource, one of the last standing where once there were many. I go out of my way to come here because the commitment Andy and Keith have shown to doing business the right way deserves my respect and support.

Im restoring a 28 room house built in 1870 and from shellac to PEX plumbing fittings, Hardware Exchange always has what I need. Andy, Keith and their staff have the answers that the big box stores cant provide. Recently, I was convinced by someone in a paint dept. that I had varnish on the floors of my house. Andy told me that it would be shellac if it was original, and told me how to test it. He was right, and he had shellac in stock, two local paint stores did not.

This place is great! They always have 2-3 familiar faces on the floor that are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to help find what you need. I never spend more than five minutes here, because as soon as you walk in your greeted by someone asking what your looking for and they take you right to it. Oh yeah...and they have ALWAYS had what I needed!
