Ive used The Computer Store a few times over the years. The first time was when I had a problem with a desktop which I couldnt figure out on my own, I dont remember what the issue was. I was driving by and I saw their sign which said "free diagnostics" and knew I should go there because who wants to start fixing the problem with a $50.00+ fee added to their bill before they even know what is going on? I dropped it off and was told over the phone a day or so later what the issue was. I wish I could remember what it was but again, I dont. I picked my PC up free of charge and frankly, felt a little guilty that I took advantage of them. The way I get my desktops is to hunt around online over the course of a few months on the various newsletters and buy the individual parts one at a time when theyre super cheap, anybody can get a very near top of the line end product if theyre patient and wait for the deals. Once I have everything I need I take it to The Computer Store and it is has been two hours of labor each time. I hesitate to list the per hour labor cost because I dont recall precisely what it was and it most likely went up but I do remember it being cheap. Ive never had an issue with things functioning properly as can happen with custom built desktops but even if I did Im sure they would have handled it. Ill be hunting around for parts soon for my newest PC and taking them there for assembly. The owners business model of getting people in the door with free diagnostics and then trusting that superior customer service will get that rewarded worked with me, as long as Im in Columbus and as long as theyre open theyll get my business. Ive never heard anybody I know who has used them say one bad word concerning their experience, the owner even helped me carry my things out to my vehicle one time.

These guys were amazing! I have a Lenovo Y50. It suddenly conked out and I had no idea why. I went to multiple stores to get it checked out - best buy, microcenter and bunch of smaller stores. Best buy couldnt figure it out in their store and said they had to ship it to their main center in kentucky (I think) and the whole thing could take 3 weeks with no guaranteed result. Microcenter took it for 2 days and said it was a motherboard issue and it had to be replaced. They were going to charge me $900 for it and around a week to do it. I was all set to buy a new laptop when I came across these guys by a huge stroke of luck! I thought they were a store that sold computers (hence the name the computer store) so I checked their website. I saw that they fixed computers and called them. The guy said he would check out my laptop free of charge (microcenter cost me ~$40). I gave him my laptop and he calls me the next day saying his supplier has a motherboard for my laptop model and in fact it was a faster processor. He charged me ~$350 for the whole thing and it was ready in 2 days! Its been 2 months since then and my laptop is as good as new! TL;DR - These guys are awesome! Definitely recommend!

They obviously don’t invest in the glitz and glamor typical of larger, more well-known stores of its kind. With their unremarkable name and even less remarkable building, the guys at The Computer Store instead spend their time and attention on meeting the needs of their clients. My brother and his (late) wife had relied on their services for years when he hipped me to their existence. When I inadvertently let my brand-new laptop get infected, they debugged it for me; when the motherboard of the same machine became terminally ill, they found me a new, identical laptop, onto which they were able to save all my work. I have since sent my son’s wife to them, and they cleaned up a dinosaur of a laptop (which I used for several years before I got a new one) so that my grandson could use if for schoolwork. Not the first complaint have any of us had. Did I mention costs? I haven’t the luxury of not needing to ask “how much,” but I often forget to because I know it won’t be prohibitive. In addition to being friendly, courteous, fair and reasonable, these guys are competent, quick, efficient and oh-so-forgiving of technophobes like me. God bless them!

Nothing but nice things to say about the Computer Store. I was experiencing problems hooking up to the internet my DHCP had a virus, originally I had taken my computer to Best Buy Geek Squad on Morse Rd. I was told that my computer was not worth trying to fix that the parts i needed were to expensive and my best bet would be to purchase a new computer. So i came to the computer store I met with James who hooked my computer up to see what the issue was he seen I had a virus on my computer within 1 minute of me being there he explained that I did not need no parts and that my computer would be fixed in 2 hours. I got my computer back with everything up and running with out a problem Later I had got scammed by a fake Microsoft website and once again James helped me out and provided me with a discount and speakers. THE COMPUTER STORE BY FAR HAS THE BEST EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS AND THEY ARE HONEST THEY WONT TRY AND RIP YOU OFF LIKE BIG NAME BRAND PLACES SUCH AS THE GEEK SQUAD AT BEST BUY.....

I had cracked my brothers HP screen, and it needed fixed. I went to Best Buy, and they said it would be over $300 AND take 3 weeks to repair. Being extremely discouraged, I decided I would try one last place, and google searched computer repair shops near OSU campus. I saw The Computer Store had 4.9 stars and many reviews, so I decided to give it a shot. James did the repair service for $180, and it took a little less than a week (would have been only two days but my screen needed special ordering). He was straight forward about the repair, very friendly, and overall I am completely satisfied with my experience. They did a great job on the repair, and I would highly recommend going here and NOT Best Buy!!!!! Ill definitely be coming back if I have anymore computer problems. My only complaint is that James wore a University of Michigan Shirt.... (EW)

My desktop computer had a failed power supply. I stopped at The Computer Store to see if they could repair it, and get a rough estimate of cost. The technician I spoke with said they could repair it, and gave me a quote. An hour later I brought the computer into their shop, and was told that they would get to it the same afternoon. Around six PM I got a phone call telling me that the computer was ready for pickup. I was amazed at both the quick turnaround time, and the quality of service. Not only did they fix the power supply, but they cleaned the computer, and repaired a faulty optical drive, which turned out to be just a loose power cable. I would HIGHLY recommend their shop and services to anyone in need of computer repair. Great to find a local shop that is both courteous, and honest in their dealings!!!!
